more than 100 - Aponi - Oct 13, 2016

For @Nova @Kyna and @Lila following this thread. Maybe Nova post first and then no order?

Aponi had avoided the topic of any goddess on the way back towards the Bend with Nova, though a flicker of annoyance passed by her features whenever her sister mentioned it. The trees that they passed through were familiar as the stone of the Pass had once been to her, the silver body moved with ease between the boughs, feet finding holds gracefully. On the way the mother had filled the awkward silence at first with casual talk of her daughters, Kyna's fiery eyes to match the attitude she had grown, Lila's recent run in with a bear. Eventually though she had run short of things to say to act like so many years had gone by in anger and silence.

That is until they had almost reached the pack that the scent around them filled the air. Grimacing Aponi snorted, "I don't suppose you're interested in seeing Naira? I try to keep the girls as far from her as possible given we're all in the same pack." Blue eyes glanced towards the dark girl at her side, trying to gauge the reaction that this would cause, was Nova more forgiving than her even after all of this time? Stopping a few yards back from the markers the silver she wolf stopped, lifting her muzzle to the sky to call for her daughters, fully expecting that Lila would arrive before the older girl. Maybe it was the age or the hormones or the personality or just not being a shitty mother this year but the pup was more likely to listen than the yearling.

Pausing in the silence that followed her howl Aponi murmured, "Please don't speak of your goddess with them, Kyna's been through enough already and Lila is still just a child." Her voice was quiet but the tone was stern enough to portray that this was a request she expected to be followed.

NOVA
Cause our memories have a breath

Her sister seemed less than receptive of any mention of Nova's newfound beliefs. It was difficult to keep it under wraps between them just for the sake of civility, even though she could see and sense the goddess in nearly every aspect of her life now. Nova kept herself a polite listener, smiling as Aponi described her daughters, listening with shock and surprise as Aponi regaled her family's run in with a bear. She was happy enough to let Aponi lead the conversation, most of all keeping the topic off of herself to avoid explaining the twists and turns her life had taken in the past few months.

Nova barely concealed the surprise on her face to hear that Naira lived here as well, alive, no less. Nova shook her head, "No... That's fine," she said. "I wouldn't want to cause a scene," She offered in explanation. She hadn't seen their mother in years, and the last she'd known of her whereabouts was simply that she fled after Mapplethorpe's death. She couldn't foresee a happy reunion, it would be too much at once.

Nova waited quietly as Aponi's howl rang out, her yellow eyes flicking as she patiently watched the mist swirling through the trees. It was peaceful, but Nova noticed a somewhat ominous undercurrent, a turbulent hum to the air. Conflicting energies, something in the past. She would bet this land had never been properly cleansed. Her eyes flicked back and forth, watching something that wasn't there.

Aponi's voice caught her by surprise, the lanky woman jolting somewhat as she looked to Aponi, registering her question. "-Ahh, as you wish," Nova agreed to the request. In her opinion, one was never too young to learn... Strengths were honed easier when one's spirit was still in the malleable stage of childhood. But Nova did not fancy getting murdered by her sister dearest, so was keen to follow her request. "I'm happy enough just to meet my nieces," She said with a pleasant if not somewhat vacant smile.

RE: more than 100 - Lila - Nov 22, 2016

note Lila is 5 months in this thread.

It wasn't unusual for her mother to go. Lila didn't mind being left with any of her sitters no in the least. It was usually filled with play, food, and naps. Why she didn't like being interrupted in her games, when her mother beckoned her to join her at the edge of the territory, she answered without hesitation. Only pausing once to see if Kyna was coming as well.

This was different. There was a bounce in her gait, excited by what it could mean. Her head started to shift with thoughts and ideas. One better than the next. She was not met by a treat as she would have thought. There was momma, and there was a dark cloaked female with a small patch of white. Eyes she could not decide were like Halie's or not.

But, her dark blue pair took her in from her own dark face. This wolf had to be important. "Hello," most politely she greeted, taking a seat beside Aponi never letting her eyes leave the other woman's face. She looked familiar, and yet Lila knew they had never met. Despite how hard she might question, she did not know why she was here.
