Am I cut out for this? - Moonshadow - Oct 18, 2016 [dohtml] OOC! RE: There sky is lighting up with an early aurora borealis! Reds and green lights dance across the nighttime sky for hours. Open to anyone! :) Set after her conversation with @Vespertio at the borders closest to Mount Dire The newly appointed alphaess couldnt keep her mind quiet. As she laid in the communal den in the small nook she had created from almost a years worth of nights and simply thought. Thought of her pack mates - her family - thought of how she could possibly lead them and if she was even capable of it. Never did she think she would be on top and was completely unsure how she felt about it. Most wolves would be overjoyed but Moon was terrified. She had spent just over a third of her life being alone. She didnt have the slightest inkling of how to lead. Despite her fear she had accepted the role knowing that it was dire for her to do so to keep the pack together. She couldnt let her stupid fear potentially destroy their home. She wouldnt let the twins be without a home this young. They were younger than she was when she lost hers and she barely survived. They didnt deserve that and the ebony woman would do everything in her power to make sure they didnt have to. The thoughts swirled around her mind like an angry storm not allowing her to sleep. Deciding a walk may help calm her mind she quietly stands in the den. Before carefully exiting liquid silver eyes look over the sleeping mounds of the wolves who had became her family. Cernan the mousy pup she had met her first morning in the pack and Neha his sister who had helped her flank heal after the bear encounter. There was Kajika her teacher, friend, savior really if she thought about it. He had brought her to his home seeing potential in her while also giving her the protection of a pack during the middle of winter. He had taught her how to be a valuable member of the pack teaching her all the skills she didnt know and helping her to perfect the ones she learned on her own. Without him she might not have survived last winter and for that she would always be eternally grateful. A bit towards the back of the den laid her alphas - well who use to be her alphas. Vespertio was now her equal while his wife Namid was her subordinate. It was a weird and foregin thought to the sooty woman but nonetheless reality. Last but not least Moons soft gaze settled on the two smallest members of the pack. The pups were so big now and were only going to get bigger. The woman shook her head at not spending much time with them. She just hadnt known how to interact with such tiny beings. That was another matter that would be addressed later. Right now she needed a walk. The night was particularly chilly with the first snow of the season already dusting the land. Cold air hit the woman as she left the warmth of the den. It felt nice as it weaved its way through her winter coat that was coming in. Giving her limbs a good stretch Moons trotted off into the night towards the borders. Patrolling had become her way of clearing her mind. Her large frame wasnt necessarily built for scouting but she could do the job with ease. Reaching the borders quickly large paws easily made their way over the rocky terrain as she closed in closer to the base of Mount Dire. Not wanting to worry anyone again the midnight woman didnt dare cross the clearly marked bounds of her home. Instead she stayed a few wolf lenghts inside the territory hidden amongst the shadows. After walking for a bit Moonshadow comes across a clearing that held a few large boulders that must have rolled down from the mountian much like the ones that had created their den did. Strong legs made the jump ontop of the boulder effortless. Laying upon its cool smooth surface the woman looked upon the sky. The stars glittered like billions of diamonds dotting the sky so that there wasnt a space without them. A smile crossesd her maw as she took in their beauty. Their light was then covered up by brilliant reds and greens as they danced across the sky. Taking the fluidity of silk ribbons vibrant colors played in the sky. The aurora borealis - or dancing colors as her mother had explained - had come early this year. Her inky tail swished happily behind her as this was exactly the distraction she needed. |
