Morning of a new life. - Linara - Nov 11, 2011 [dohtml]
"Let every dawn be to you as the beginning of life, and every setting sun be to you as its close." As the dawn emerged from the treeline to the east, beams of light shined through the clearing called Hush Meadow. As the nocturnal animals settled down for the day, shutting their eyes and resting their weary heads, the diurnal animals stretched their tired limbs and opened their eyes to the morning. The morning dew glistened in the wave of sunlight, and the morning sky was colored warmly. Linara opened one eye after the other, peering drearily towards the sun's abrupt awakening. With the den's mouth facing east, it was always hard to miss the sun rise. This was good for Linara. a head start on hunting, although Linara rolled on her other side and shaded her face, unwilling to force herself up at the time being. Linara closed her eyes, willing herself to fall back into dream land, before giving up and pushing herself onto her feet. In Linara's old pack, it was pansophy that Linara was not a morning person, however living as a lone wolf always meant getting the first hunt meant getting food for the day. As Linara mustered up the strength to drag herself up from out of the den, her maw parted in a yawn. Her tongue curled up towards her upper jaw as her eyes closed shut. a sharp yawning noise escaped from her jaws as she came to a conclusion, and she snapped her jaws shut. She briefly stretched, looking out towards the sun, before padding into the surrounding woods. Her nose went down to the ground and she smelled some small game around. from what the smell indicated, it was a hare, and she hadn't smelled it before. the brush moved to the left of her and she dropped onto her haunches into a crouch. Her eyes and nose silently investigated the area for any sudden changes int he environment. ht ebrush moved again and this time, she was sure. As she shot her eyes to the direction of the sound a rather large hare appeared into veiw. It's nose twitched slightly, almost anticipating danger in it's fidgety manner. Linara stood on her toes, her eyes following the hare as it moved across the brush. It moved with caution, so it must have already sensed her. She watched it as it set itself up onto it's back legs, sniffing the air with a careful manner, before Linara tensed her muscles and jumped. the poor hare looked up before it was too late, and it's powerful back legs propelled against the ground, Linara pinned it's body with her strong paws. Her eyes settled on the rabbit's neck, and it let out a horrified squeal before Linara threw her head down and bit it's little neck. It's petty attempts at escape were pointless, as the hare went limp. Satisfied, Linara carried the rabbit to her den, setting in between her paws and sighing. The morning had not progressed much, and she was quite bored. She let her bottom jaw hang loose as she panted. Her side heaved as she did this, and the paused for a moment, almost searching for someone to talk to before looking down at the hare again, and ripping into it's side carnivorously. Morning of a new life. - Jaysyek - Nov 11, 2011 The white wolf would often be awake long before dawn had even thought about coming. Mix between night, and day had been one of those days. She had awoken for the hundreth time counting three puppies, and then after believing what her eyes saw she would close her eyes, try to catch the sleep she desperately needed. Sometimes it worked and her exhaustion would help her slip into a light slumber. Most time she would lie there awake listening to the familiar rise, and falling of small rib cage, sometimes straining to hear three heartbeats. The comforting sounds of her pups would sometimes lull her to sleep, or at least a state of relaxtion. Other times her heart would hurt knowing who was not there. Morning of a new life. - Linara - Nov 12, 2011 [dohtml]
Linara sit, her paws neatly folded over the half eaten hare. Her nose pick up a quickly approaching scent. The scent was of a wolf, her eyes widened, however she stood her ground. Before long, a white slender wolf bounced into view, before stopping suddenly and looking down. Linara pondered the wolf's interesting appearance, and she quickly pushed her catch back into her den further, before standing on her toes. She hesitantly padded over to the wolf, who she could now make out was sobbing. Her eyes scanned the wolf's make up. She had obviously been running pretty fast, and pretty far. She noticed her chest rise and fall harshly. Linara padded a bit closer, before stopping a meter or two short of her. Bending her head down in a worried manner, she would mutter quiet words. "A-Are you alright?" She stuttered slightly, and her voice was kept low, as not to startle the wolf. She meant to make friends with the wolf, her body in a cautious, yet sad and worried pose. One paw lifted, she almost had a bit of an inquiring expression on her face. She wondered what was wrong with this wolf, why she was crying... Morning of a new life. - Jaysyek - Nov 13, 2011 Violent trembles raked her whole body. She tried breathing, but managed only whispers of air. Her warm tears would not stop, they came rushing like open flood gates. She almost felt she'd double over from her uncontrollable sobs. She stood forcing herself to stand, trying to force her stomach to stop aching, and herself to stop grieving with her eyes shut so tight she was oblivious that someone else was around, let alone headed her way. Morning of a new life. - Linara - Nov 13, 2011 [dohtml]
Carefully she stepped forward again, her head still low, as to stay non threatening. Her eyes focused on the wolf's face, that she now notice was streaming with heavy tears. She listened to her sobs for a moment and remained quiet and speachless, giving the wolf time to settle down before she would respond. Her eyes waited for a response, and watched as the femme shook her head. Letting another paw lift and fall to the ground again, she took another step forward, now only a few paw steps away. Slow proceeding forward, she hesitantly nuzzled the wolf's neck in a comforting manner. Her eyes almost welled up with tears at the sight of the upset canine. "I-It's alright... I promise it'll all b-be alright." She cooed to the stranger. Her heart almost melted for the wolf, and seeing someone in pain was always hard to bear. It only seemed right to reassure the wolf and make she she was alright before she would talk to her. She wanted this wolf to talk to her. She wanted to make her feel better. It just seemed right. Her nose parted from the female's neck and she proceeded to give her some space, some breathing air, as it seemed she was having trouble battling the strength of her sobs with her breathing. Linara had been there before. She recalled a time... Her eyes pushed back tears before she continued to remissness. It was not the time to join this wolf in tears, with her own remorse from the past; now was the time to comfort her. Morning of a new life. - Jaysyek - Nov 13, 2011 Though she appeared to be pretty much an easy target, she didn't feel like this tawny, and silver streaked wolf meant her harm. Jayse doubted anyone could really rankle her now. It was definately the oppisite, though Jayse could not really fathom why someone, especially not knowing her, would want to help. She kindly looked to the lady, deciding she would do the same if their roles were reversed. When the maiden stepped closer it took a lot of her energy to accept the comforting touch. The pale wolf, she did not flinch, she took it only closing her eyes tight just to keep any more tears that might threaten her back. She didn't need to start the process of calming herself all over, not again. Morning of a new life. - Linara - Nov 13, 2011 [dohtml]
As the femme turned her white head to face her own. She noticed the difference in her eyes immediately. As the wolf hiccuped to her, she smiled meekly, a little pleased that she was feeling a bit better, and no longer sobbing. Shifting her feet and looked down for a moment, she thought quietly to herself as the wolf calmed herself. She looked up just in time to see that the wolf's head was turning towards her, and a knot welled up in her throat. the thought of talking to another wolf made her a bit anxious, but she stood her ground and tried to appear as though she was not slightly timid of talking to others. As the wolf's eyes met her own, she blinked at her softly, heading her to say what she wanted to say. She watched the wolf hesitate, taking a few breaths in before responding with a rough voice. Breathing in a sigh of relief almost as the wolf finally spoke. "Any time" She muttered quietly in her small voice. She looked up and smiled slightly at her, her maw turning up and her eyes gently scanning the wolf's face for her current emotion almost. Linara was relieved by the wolf's thanks. Morning of a new life. - Jaysyek - Nov 13, 2011 The meek smile of the lady coaxed a small one to rise across her pale muzzle, but it disappeared as quickly as it came. She was still trying to catch her breaths, and she was a little worried what she might say, part of her not knowing what to say. She was quite embarrassed someone had seen her in this state, but she could not take back the turn of events no matter how many stars she might wish upon. She'd gotten her cold dose of reality to believe in such things any more. Morning of a new life. - Linara - Nov 15, 2011 [dohtml]
Catching the glimpse that faded as slowly as it appeared on the femme's face, Linara felt her attempt to cheer up the sobbing wolf had succeeded for the most part, although it was obvious that the wolf was trying to catch her breath, and she was still a a bit upset, she wasn't nearly as upset looking as Linara had found her. Linara's sensitive ears perked forward on her head as the lightly colored female opened her jaw to speak, listening to closely to her words, she recited the name in her head, as not to forget it. The smile on her face widened slightly as the wolf introduced herself, and so Linara took suit. "I am L-linara" She responded meekly. The silly grin on her face was almost ridiculous. She was so happy the wolf felt better, and good enough to speak. As the femme looked a bit meek herself, her ears falling to the side a bit. She listened as the wolf spoke, interested in what she had to say. "It's really q-quite okay... Everyone has those days." She reassured her. Her tail sweeping the air in a suddenly twitch, then falling with gravity. She looked at her and realized they were both standing, and decided to get a bit more comfortable, now that the wolf wasn't much of a threat anymore. Not that she was earlier, but she felt a bit more comfortable sitting. Setting her rump down on the ground, she heard a crunch of a leaf. This reminded her of her morning meal, although she decided she would get back to at as soon as she was done talking, after all, it would be impolite to leave the femme for a rabbit that she had left in her den. Morning of a new life. - Jaysyek - Nov 16, 2011 She wouldn't have guessed the wolf was shy, yet her slight stutter in name had her curious if Linara was scared of her, something else, or just didn't speak a lot. However the grin upon her face, well it was a mixed signal, but it did make her own smile more present because the grin seemed innoncent much like a delighted child or something. This lady she doubted was much younger than she. |
