Brooding in the snow - Kobe - Dec 28, 2016 Pushing his head out between hanging vines, Kobe looked out across the frozen water of a spring. “Every step I take seems to land me in a new experience,” he muttered to himself. He stepped back from the spring and turned. Apart from the crunch of his paws in the snow, the area was relatively silent. It was more peaceful than errie. Serene and almost elegant, he felt nature had outdone itself. Settling down in the shadow of a tree, the black wolf put his head on his paws and watched the snow fall lazily. He was cold to be sure and underweight but content. There were perks of being alone after all. He knew he would be blissfully undisturbed. Just him, the snow and the tree. He closed his eyes for a moment and then opened them. He lifted his head and yawned. It was all so boring. A part of him missed his birthpack. His siblings were loud and obnoxious but they were there to complain about. When was was alone like a speck in nature and black dot amongst the snow with nothing to do and nowhere to go, it became wholly apparent that the world could and would go on without him without blinking an eye. His existence wasn’t necessary. He didn’t matter. He needed by no one but himself. If he was to perish, there wouldn’t be a soul to mourn him. |
