Your fear brings tears like summer rain - Anaia - Jan 23, 2017 [dohtml] ------------------------------------------------------- Word Count: 243 It was cold, and it was getting late, and Anaia just wanted to find someplace dark and quiet to curl up and go to sleep. She headed up the goat track, feet dragging and ears drooping. She paused outside the old coyote den she’d spent her first month here in, mildly considering taking shelter there for the night instead of on the barren top of the pack’ monadnock. She shook it off, though, and continued on her way. What would @Craw think if she didn’t turn up for the evening? She shuddered, her fear causing a prickling sensation in her eyes. The arrival of the newcomers, the wolves from her alphas pack, had shaken her. She found herself always looking over her shoulder, always afraid. She was afraid to make any of them angry. The pack was so huge now. She hadn’t met at least half of its members, and she found herself alone most days. As she arrived on top, the small white woman glanced around and let out a breath of relief to find she was mostly alone. Mostly. The smaller form of one of the new pups could be made out. Feeling a bit like her old self, Anaia approached him and let out a soft chuff so she didn’t sneak up on him. “I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Anaia.” She introduced, her voice surprisingly steady despite the fear coiled in her stomach. “You just joined up recently, didn’t you?” "Speech" Thought |
