RE: at your worst you still believe - Wraith - Mar 10, 2017

Was there another wolf more lucky than him in this moment? He rather doubted it. None of them could claim to be looking at the most gorgeous wolf that ever existed. Perhaps another would see a missing ear, a scarred face. Wraith saw a warrior. A survivor. A blessed angel offering him all the salvation he could ever want or need. Morganna was a first love, but her heart in no way belonged to him. He had been a means to an end and, though he would never hold it against her, he knew it was not sustainable. His love for his Alpha would never wane, for it was as strong as his loyalty.

But loving Piety was far different. It was more than loyalty and friendship. More than pack. It was...transcendent.

And perhaps every lovesick fool felt the same. But Wraith knew he'd rather die a fool than have gone an entire lifetime without knowing her.

Looking down at her, he smiled gently even as his eyes laughed with her. "No, love. I won't back down," he promised. "Not unless you asked me to."

He already knew Piety wouldn't ask him.
