force my rage out of hiding - Wraith - Apr 19, 2017

Private thread for @Mittani and @Piety. Onlookers are welcome, but please do not interfere unless you want Wraith's wrath turned on you. This thread immediately follows the judge where Piety and Wraith met with HR.

[dohtml]

For the majority of the way home, Wraith was stonily silent. His fury radiated off him in waves while he considered his options. In truth, it didn't sit well with him the ultimatum he was given. As leaders, the decision on Mittani's punishment should have been his and Piety's to make, not @Lachesis. And the pair of them very well would have come to the same conclusion on their own; that Mittani was unfit to remain in the pack. He would have hoped for the Hearthwood Alpha to extend the same benefit of the doubt to them that he would have for his own packmates and trust him to handle it without the need for forcing his claws.

"He cannot stay," Wraith finally rumbled to Piety as the Monadnock came up. Though he looked to his mate to affirm that she agreed, he refused to allow the disintegration of an ally bond due to some idiot's actions. And he would make damn well sure that it would never happen again. An example would be made of the haughty Morelli. Wraith knew already he was unsuited for his Second, but out of respect, he had not made an issue of it. With this done, Roosemooth would ascend as Second and sit in the proper position within the pack.

Without preamble, Wraith scaled the Monadnock with sure paws and bellowed out a demand for his Second to come now. The volume of his call was loud enough that it left the Kael man wondering if even it could be heard in Hearthwood River. "Morelli!" Wraith's sides heaved with barely restrained rage as he waited. It was a wonder he didn't have smoke and fire billowing from past his teeth while he seethed.

He wondered what was wanted from him now. The call was uncomfortably aggressive coming from the lead male. As far as Mittani was aware, he had all of his ducks in a row and not one out of line. The only thing he could think of them getting mad at him for was perhaps his slacking or even his partial absence from most.

Without a care in the world, the Morelli man waltzed up to where the monstrous call had come from. The sight at the top was no one he expected. The pale Piety was there standing like stone, her posture strong and tail raised high. It wasn't her who made his skin crawl though. Wraith standing there looking like he had contracted rabies was what drew an uncomfortable feeling from him. He made sure no one knew about his fiascos and hadn't even made any ruckus in the ranks lately, what in the hell was that nasty look about?

He knew what part to play though, his tail tucking with a bit of protest as he calmly spoke. "Yes?" Because Mittani for once believed he was truly innocent this time. His mind briefly wondered if perhaps Roosemooth was pinning something on him that he wasn't aware of. Oh boy, he would kill to kick that old man off the Monadnock...

RE: force my rage out of hiding - Piety - Apr 19, 2017

She was nowhere near as furious as Wraith was but she certainly wasn't calm. Her stance was strong and bold, tail lashing about until they reached the top of the monadnock. The pale female took a standing position behind her mate as he seethed with anger. If anything she was here to make sure no one dared in intervene. This was not like her own rank challenge with Zahira or Lorcan's with the Morelli. This was a banishment which meant she wouldn't let anyone step in. Who knew what would happen to them too?

Her tail was held high and eyes locked onto the path to the top. The ghostly form of Mittani Morelli came creeping up and her eyes shifted to lock onto him with pure anger. His look, words, and position only fluffed her anger. Did he think them stupid? Was he himself stupid? At this point, she was willing to bet he was because whoever thought it was right to attack a neighbor, ally or not, had no brain power.

For a brief moment, her eyes looked away to see if anyone was peering in to see the commotion. Luckily there was no one but the three of them for now. She looked to the heaving Wraith to see what his next move was. Piety had a feel it would be something she hadn't see yet and surely wouldn't forget for a long long time.

Wraith had never placed much stock in angels. His mother had regaled tales to him and his siblings as pups about great winged creatures from the heavens that carried out divine will of the gods, whomever they may be. If his mother could see him now, she would liken Wraith to one of the Fallen; broken winged and black as night with eyes burning with hellfire. The black male's tail was lifted straight up in the air, a position it never reached before since it was as rare for Wraith to pull rank as it was for a fish to fly.

He was not fooled by the pitiful attempt to play meek. It wasn't in the Morelli to act submissive. Wraith had seen that from Day 1. He wouldn't cow down to Craw and Wraith had never given him reason to do it before. For all Mittani knew, it was just smoke without the fire. But today, he would learn. The Kael wolf was benevolent, but his wrath was vicious and long reaching for those who had betrayed his trust.

So Wraith ignored this game Mittani played. The role of submissive, poor, pitiful Mittani only served to enrage the male further. He was sick of games, and surely the white male had thought it a game when he attacked their allies. Without a warning, the black brute charged forward and grabbed the Morelli man by the back of his neck and forcibly tossed him onto the ground with a strength that matched his intimidating size.

The Whitestone leader dipped his face down close to Mittani's where his hot breath ruffled the man's fur. "Don't," he warned with sudden deadly calm, "Pretend like you are innocent." And so ended the calm portion of his tirade. "What possessed your idiotic bastard of a self to attack our ally?! And a pregnant one at that?! You're lucky I don't let Lachesis up here himself to tear you into shreds for not only attacking his mate, but threatening the livelihood of his children!" Wraith snapped out at his Second's muzzle, teeth digging in sharply as he partially dragged the wolf a few inches along the ground by it before letting go to snarl at him again.

"If that was Piety? You'd be dead, Mittani. Dead! I'd fucking toss you off this goddamn Monadnock before you could fucking blink! Whatever games you've been playing since Craw left? They are over."

RE: force my rage out of hiding - Mittani - Apr 19, 2017

There was nothing that could have prepared Mittani for what came next. His body slammed into the ground as a groan left him. Wraith's words were practically a daze in his throbbing head. But it didn't seem to end there as Wraith dragged him a bit. Mittani wasn't completely stupid. He knew his lighter form couldn't compete with the dark male's hulking form. His eyes glanced towards Piety as her mate spoke of her. Games? Mittani Morelli wasn't a man for games so whatever he was talking about wasn't making clear sense. Or perhaps that was due to his slam against the ground.

All he wanted to do was lay and groan but that obviously wouldn't get the pale man anywhere. If he knew Wraith he knew that the dark man would want words to justify whatever he believed he did. "I don't even know who the hell Lachesis is which means I sure as hell don't know his broad." He spat in protest. "I'm also unaware of who the hell an ally would even be mentioning we're in the middle of a fucking tundra!" He snapped before daring to shuffle to his paws. Mittani wasn't going to cower and be shoved about like some ragdoll.

His words weren't over yet either. "And guess what? It wasn't fucking Piety so maybe you should be grateful." Mittani wasn't admitting to whatever crime he had committed but it was obviously he wasn't selling his whole innocence thing either.

RE: force my rage out of hiding - Piety - Apr 19, 2017

Piety didn't turn her head away anymore once Wraith took action. She watched the Morelli man be thrown to the ground and even be dragged some. Wraith's words were harsh but she knew that it was just his hard justice. The dispute wasn't meant for her to get involved in so rather merrily she'd watch from behind the lumbering, angry form of her husband. Her mind briefly thought of Skoll's fiasco but she quickly dismissed the thought. That was the last wolf she needed to think about in this moment.

She watched Mittani plead his case rather poorly. At the mention of her own name, a snarl rose up in her chest. Was he threatening her while he was being thrown about? As much as the pale Kael wanted to jump into the fight she knew Wraith would in no way allow it. So instead she waited with hopes that her dark mate would duel out more punishment. If she hadn't stopped him yet she truly wouldn't stop him now.

Brown eyes glanced around for a few moments to keep watching. The quicker this was over the better along with the fewer around the better. Last thing she was in the mood to release anger towards Mittani and hormonal anger upon someone who didn't deserve it.

OOC!

--------------------------------------------------------

Word Count: 336

If he had known this day would turn out as exciting as it was promising to, Roosemooth would have gotten up earlier to hunt.

He had gone to bed late the night before, and as a result had ended up sleeping in a bit.  He had just not been able to find the will to rise after that, and he didn’t think his leaders would begrudge him one day to snooze.  He would be dedicating much energy to teaching their pups, after all.  He ignored the border call – it was none of his business anyway.

But when he heard Wraith bellow his second’s name… well, it was just too tempting.  He moved to the mouth of the den and pricked his ears, listening closely. Something strange shivered through his body. He realized with mild surprise that it was… glee.  It was a savage pleasure that swelled within his chest as he heard the kerfuffle outside.

And then there was shock.  He’d known the Morelli man was a danger, but to attack their ally’s pregnant female? Well. This was just too good.  He had to see it.  He hadn’t even started making a move against his current superior, and yet… it would appear he didn’t need to.

Shaking the last dregs of sleep from his pelt, the advisor slipped from the den just in time to see his king dragging the white wolf a few inches across the ground – by his muzzle.  Though the elder was very talented at hiding his emotions and his face remained blank, he was wearing a broad grin inside.  He did not want to interfere; they didn’t need any advising, and it was not his place to say anything.  Instead he merely sat a little to the side where he would be out of the way, but was close enough to offer his help should it be required. This was a long time in coming, and he was very much looking forward to see what happened next.

It was a very exciting day indeed.

RE: force my rage out of hiding - Wraith - Apr 20, 2017

[dohtml]

Any argument Wraith had for the number of reasons why Mittani's excuses were complete and utter bullshit died on his lips the very moment the Morelli man threatened his mate. Grateful, he should be, hm? Grateful. The black behemoth straightened and stared down at the male with ice as the fire died away. It was the stare of one looking death in the face.

As if he was watching it from the body of another like Roosemooth—he'd spotted his advisor arrive out of the corner of his eye—Wraith saw himself bend down with impossible speed and grab the white male around the throat. He could hear him yelping and screaming as he dragged him with exaggerated slowness towards the edge of the Monadnock and took great pleasure in the way the male's claws scrambled for purchase along stone without success. And Wraith saw himself turn his head back just enough to throw Mittani's body airborne without any hope of clawing at the sides of the cliff face for salvation. For one like Mittani, one who would threaten the very beat of his heart and the lives she carried, he deserved none.

But Wraith also saw the male's broken body at the bottom of the Monadnock. And he saw the uncomfortable fear in his packmate's eyes for knowing what he'd done. And he saw Piety looking at him with pity and a secret look that wondered if he'd gone too far.

It was this vision, this premonition, which stayed the male's jaws. When he reached down to grab Mittani's neck, it was only to slam him down against hard stone once more in a final act. Panting hard with the difficulty of his restraint, Wraith glared down at the dishonorable piece of filth at his paws. Exile was not nearly enough for the injustices. But it was best the brute not compromise himself by becoming an executioner. That would have been something Craw would have done in his stead. As much as he loved his brother, he would not become him.

Gone was the usual warmth of the Whitestone Alpha's voice. His tone was more frigid than the snowy lowlands around them. "Get. Out."

RE: force my rage out of hiding - Mittani - Apr 20, 2017

There was nothing but cold icy eyes, had Mittani truly just won the behemoth before him? Was all it took was one jab towards his pitiful excuse of a mate to get him locked down? He wanted to sneer but held his own ground. Mittani didn't miss the form of Roosemooth in the corner. There was no true attention given to the small bastard, though. For all the Morelli cared the man could slip and fall to his death. Surely no one here would miss him.

Once there was a voice it spoke something Mitt wasn't exactly ready to hear. He snorted softly. "Fine." Without a second word, he turned around and began back down the goat track. There wasn't anything here for him anymore anyway. Everyone and everything was disposable eventually. Cheedo would be taken care of and Roose could be a pretentious ass without his help. On his way down the large rock, he spits onto the ground below his pale paws. It wasn't even worth his presence anyway. The only reason he had shown up was for Craw and now that man was running off to chase after women who didn't want him.

As he reached the bottom he gave a soft growl and trudged off into the tundra. They wouldn't be seeing him again anytime soon.

RE: force my rage out of hiding - Piety - Apr 20, 2017

The lead female watched the eerie silence that passed between the males. It made her fur prickle with anxiety. What was Wraith thinking about? Why was he waiting and hesitating? Her eyes caught movement from the corner and her head snapped that way. The small figure of Roosemooth taking a spot on the sideline. She gave a soft growl to the male both of acknowledgment and warning. If he was truthfully as smart as he seemed then he would stay in that spot no matter what happened between the men in front of them.

Suddenly Wraith's voice broke the silence. Her attention slid back to her mate as he spoke to careful words. If she was being honest, it was much less than she had been expecting him to do. On standby in case the Morelli man didn't dismiss himself with ease she was just as shocked with his reaction. Brown eyes watched as he disappeared down the goat track and eventually into the tundra out in front of the Monadnock. She didn't care where he went as long as it wasn't around here.

With a soft whine, she dropped her posture and slide up the side of her mate. Soft kisses were given to his chin to help soothe him back down. She didn't ever want him that furious again even if it was for the right thing.
