A Hunting We Will Go - Arnaq - May 05, 2017 @Nalda :D
Arnaq was eager today. She was going to be heading out with Nalda. Arnaq padded around the den site for a few moments and began to wag her tail. She was very excited that Nalda was taking her out into the territory. Sure Arnaq headed out a few times to catch small game but she never ventured to far from the den site itself. She didn't enjoy being alone for very long and now that she was in a pack she never wanted that feeling to creep itself up into her again.
The weather was better than it had been, at least it wasn't raining. The sun came out in certain places but there was still grey in the sky. The ground was muddy from the rainfall over the last few days and she hoped she wasn't going to make a fool of herself, but that didn't last very long as she bounded into the trees waiting for Nalda to join her, she tripped on a log and took a tumble face first into a large puddle of mud. "Well isn't this just a great way to start off."
She huffed and stood up, well at least nothing but her fur was ruined and the taste in her mouth filled with that dirty muddy water. "Yuck." She ran her tongue over her fur to get the taste out of her mouth. Well this was going to be a great way to start off the day wasn't it. Sitting on her haunches she decided it was better to just sit and wait upon the older wolf to arrive.

RE: A Hunting We Will Go - Arnaq - May 09, 2017 Arnaq was covered in mud and she huffed as she tried to lick some of it off. It was not going to be any use. She wondered if she would be covered with this stuff for the rest of spring. A pout on her muzzle as she looked up and saw Nalda.
Nalda offered the yearling as simple nod of her head and the turned taking off into the trees calling her to come after. Stumbling over her paws for a brief moment, Arnaq took no time in catching up with the older wolf. She loved to run after all. She darted around the trees zooming in and out of them for a several paces before reprimanding herself to stay on point. She was going hunting and she needed to be focused.
Falling back into line with Nalda she forced herself to stay a few paces behind her, letting her take the lead as was her right. Arnaq was the lowest in the pack, she didn't have the luxury of goofing off like she just did and she was sure she would be yelled at for it. "Where are we headed?" She asked as the forest seem to pass them by. The scent of the pack was becoming faint the further they went. Were they leaving the territory to go hunt? She hadn't left since she arrived and she wasn't sure she wanted to step beyond the borders, but again this wasn't her show or choice.

RE: A Hunting We Will Go - Arnaq - Jul 07, 2017 Arnaq quieted down as they moved through the trees, her steps following almost identically into the prints in the mud as she followed behind Nalda. "That makes sense." She whispered. She copied Nalda, her nose breathing in the scents of the area. Her eyes scanned the area, looking around them. When Nalda stopped so did she, when she hissed at the young wolf, she dropped to the ground, her eyes scanning for what Nalda saw. It took her a moment or so before she picked up the pheasant's moving around the brush. She crawled along as Nalda skirted the trees. Arnaq was excited. She had tried to hunt these fowl before and had never actually been able to bring one down. The chance was here now and she tried to stop her tail from wagging softly behind her. She watched Nalda, skirted around a tree trunk, staying out of sight from the prey but enough so that she could watch for a signal from the older wolf. She didn't want to mess this up. She knew that the she-wolf had more experience and she wanted to learn all she could. She stayed where she was, she wasn't sure if she should flank or wait. They hadn't quite spoken about tactics. For now she would stay put watching and waiting as she tried to control her tail from moving at all. |
