Life in the Balance - Nauja - May 29, 2017 @Cuan [Dohtml] It was time for her to go back out but this time she was headed in another direction. Nauja felt this was a good way to learn about the lands around her new home. She was starting to wonder if Emrys wasn't trying to thrust her into something she wasn't sure she was ready for. They hadn't actually had a talk about a role but it certainly felt like he might he trying to help her make a decision. Which she didn't have a problem with considering she had no idea what it was she wanted to do. It certainly was something for her to think about at night when she took shelter alone. There wasn't much else for her to do until she fell asleep so she considered what the pale alpha was trying to show her. She found him to be an odd one with his talk of signs, it seemed he was making some kind of signs on his own. As she traveled further away from the Notch she knew she was getting closer to her old home. She wasn't headed there though. She'd traveled maybe a day or more before she came upon a hill that she decided to stop in and take a rest, regain her bearings a little before continuing on. [/dohtml]RE: Life in the Balance - Cuan - May 31, 2017 Cuan’s stomach had been full, but that fullness could only last so long for a lone wolf. Despite moderate muscles and fleet paws, the tawny male wasn’t prepared to risk going after prey large enough to sustain him for longer than a day or so. He took his pickings from hares and other small mammals who couldn’t threaten to retaliate with any significant force. Even so, Cuan had sustained a nick or two to his already scarred forelegs in his pursuit of smaller prey. For now, the broad male was at rest. His creamy chin rested on his paws and his tail curled toward his flank. Cuan was a picture of relaxation – except for his ears, which stood to attention in spite of his easy pose. The hill was picturesque, though it was a little exposed. Soon enough Cuan would move off in search of more substantial shelter from the elements. Those ears, ever alert, twitched, along with his inky nose. A scent had wafted towards the loner and his head turned towards the unknown female. A smile spread across his muzzle, gentle enough to be non-threatening but with a distinct crookedness which hinted at his roguish tendencies. The tip of his tail flicked and he got to his paws with a soft huff of a greeting: “’Ello there.” Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - May 31, 2017 There is a family of deer nearby. Hunt Opportunity RE: Life in the Balance - Nauja - Jun 01, 2017 [dohtml] She'd hated leaving Ishtar alone again especially after finding her in the den but she had a job to do, Emrys had made that clear when she’d expressed her concerns. The sea wolf knew she had to work for the pack instead of just herself now but there were times she missed being in the notch. She didn't dwell on how much she missed home and instead focused on making her Alpha's proud and keeping good on what she'd said to them at the border. She wasn't sure how she never come across the hill before but now that she was there she was curious about the view from the top. Perhaps she would be able to see far enough to make a choice on the direction she wanted to go from there. Since she hadn't traveled the lore very much there were still a lot of places that she needed to visit. The sea wolf wasn't worried, of Emrys kept sending her out on these trips she might get to see them all. What she wasn't expecting wasn't was to find another wolf at the top of the hill when she'd finally climbed it. He seemed pleased to see her but she still thought it best to be cautious since he was in fact a stranger to her. Nauja did return his smile as he got to his feet. “Hello, I hope I'm not interrupting. I was just curious about the view from up here,” she explained as she moved to sit back on her haunches.
