small stash woes - Heigen - Jun 01, 2017

kinda bad starter, i apologize! @Kyna || Late afternoon, Patchy rain possible, 73 ° F, 23 ° C

He had been watching the den closely since the birth of the Heights' first (and only) child. Of course, he figured likely not as closely as Iyes might have been and obviously not nearly as much as the father, Greer. The large male did his part in the end. Dropping occasional gifts off and making sure the borders were even more secure than before. The longer they were here the stronger their scent got but Heigen knew that with a child who would surely be fumbling about soon that the borders would need an extra dose of protection.

The Colette carried a plump Rock Ptarmigan as he made his way towards where he expected to find Kyna. He was positive she'd be in the den with her child and on the off chance she was out for a stroll or quick relief of herself then he wouldn't mind waiting. He had been meaning to talk to her anyway. Her well-being was mostly at the front of his mind but there were other things they could chat about. Iyes' training, his own goals, anything else that came from her would be good topics too. The strawberry blonde was never boring to talk to. From the first time talked she had had something interesting to say.

Slowing himself as he came upon the den his brown eyes looked around. Heigen sat down the Ptarmigan carefully before offering a low woof. "Kyna?"

Heigen’s best guess was a good one, indeed. Her mate had relieved her earlier in the day, leaving the young alpha free to spend the rest of the afternoon with her daughter. Revon’s eyes had opened and her ears had lifted up, leaving the child more and more able to babble as she tried to mimic the sounds her parents made (few as they were). But at this particular moment, the dark bundle of fur was tucked safely inside the redhead’s den, and Kyna herself lounged just outside the mouth, basking in the late afternoon rays as the sun began its decent. She vastly preferred summer to any other month; the heat was far more agreeable at this altitude, and she preferred the bright sunshine to clouds, or worse – snow.

Orange eyes peeled open at the sound of approaching paws and she smiled as Heigen approached. The lithe queen gathered herself into a sitting position, chuffing softly in greeting. “Gen! It is good to see you,” she replied, motioning with her muzzle for him to join nearby. Her slim tail swished across the surface of of the earth. She wasn’t terribly worried about disturbing Revon – the girl wasn’t fussy, at least not this week. If anything, waking up during her nap meant she’d sleep longer tonight when her parents tried to curl up for some shut eye. “What can I do for you, my friend?”
