siamese twins by choice - Astrid - Jun 05, 2017 Anyone welcome! Territory discovery of Sunglow Meadow. Also an RE! "A double rainbow stretches through the sky. "
Leaving behind the mountains Astrid had set off with her trusty adventuring buddy @Mathuin once again. This time, they had a new goal in mind. Though they were looking for a pack to call home, there was no shortage of side-stops and sightseeing to be found along the way. After all, it was all about the journey moreso than the destination. The pair had set up 'camp' at in a little patch of forest to rest their tired, calloused paws. Astrid awoke early, as the sun began to peek up on the eastern horizon. She didn't particularly want to bother her friend by waking him up; Mathuin looked so peaceful and she would have hated to interupt his sweet dreams. She would just go see if she could scout out anything they could make breakfast of, and once Mathuin got up they could go out and hunt together. The morning was warm enough, with just the slightest bit of dampness from the rains that had passed through last night. Astrid bounced along through the forest accompanied by the morning chorus of birdson, noticing it looked quite a bit lighter up ahead. Picking up her pace into an excited gallop, the honeyed girl broke free of the treeline and into a vast field filled with flowers. The tall colorful blooms brushed against her flanks as she ran, the open sky stretching above in a lovely blue tint brighter than any jewel. And there-- Astrid stopped in her tracks, her mouth dropping open in awe. Not one, but two glorious archs of multichromatic light stretching from one end of the field to the other, the Mountain of Dire almost perfectly centered beneath the gateway. "Ohhh wooooow!!!" She exclaimed, her head craned upwards towards the sky so far back that her rear end was forced onto the ground. "Wooaahh, no way, double rainbows! All the way across the sky!" She squealed. "So beautiful! Ohh wooow! Full rainbows, all the way... So intense!" RE: siamese twins by choice - Marianna - Jun 08, 2017 [dohtml] Slowly but surely, Marianna made her way south, and then east, and then south again. It surely wasn’t the quickest way to find her brother’s pack, but her run in with Draven had helped (kind of) when it came to visualizing where she would go. That it was brand new wasn’t particularly useful, no one she’d run into thus far had heard about a Kino – or an Alabaster, or whatever he was calling himself now – or a Sahalie. That she didn’t actually know the name of the place she was looking for only added to her woes. But she must be getting close by now! She’d gone around the mountain, south, and she was on the other side, so that must mean she was east. But how east was east enough? These thoughts swirled around the loner’s head as she walked, largely oblivious to everything else when a feminine voice broke through her concentration. Ari glanced up, first noticing the pretty girl, and then following her gaze out to the sky – and the sight there was unlike anything she had ever seen. The large wolf bounced over to Astrid’s side, her tail swinging from side to side as she crooned. “Those’re amazing!” she crowned happily. “Think we could find where they land?” Who knew what was at the end of a rainbow? RE: siamese twins by choice - Zev - Jun 12, 2017 This happens three days after his brief stop in the serpents pass to obtain a clump of Diatomaceous earth
The brute had been in the meadow searching for a herb he needed for the last few hours, maybe even days, he was drenched from nose to tail from the rain that had caused the rainbow, but he hadn't noticed the rain nor did he realize he was wet, but those close by would know, he would smell like something akin to rotten meat and muck, moreso now that he was wet. His tongue lolled out of his mouth, his body was thirsty but he paid his body no heed, he needed the plant with ridged leaves and tiny purple flowers, he sought the skullcap herb but he was not having any luck with it. His ire was rising and his patience dwindling for this task but he could not give up on the idea that the skullcap was here somewhere, he barely noticed the females, though he had heard them, and only tilted his head skyward for a brief moment before turning his gaze down ward, his tongue still dangling and his breath coming in dry pants. Rainbows,... iris,... spit of the gods,... nothing but grief,... lose yourself,... He mumbled and moved the grasses aside with his muzzle, he couldn't even distinguish the smell anymore his nose was so tired. RE: siamese twins by choice - Astrid - Jun 27, 2017 @Marianna Astrid glanced sideways, smiling happily as a happy little squeal left her throat. Her angled head had to tilt upwards to see the wolf who had appeared at her side. Boy, this girl was as big as Mat! They must just grow this big out here. Something in the water maybe, she mused. She was glad she wasn't the only wolf to witness the dual rainbows and appreciate it for the grand sight it was, and Astrid's tail swished in a golden blur to mirror the tall girl's wag. Her smile split into a wide grin, tongue hanging out in an excited pant as the other girl mentioned finding where they landed. It hadn't even occurred to Astrid that the rainbows ended somewhere, but surely they had to, right? She could see right where the multicolored archs touched the tree-tops, where they might touch the forest floor found below. "I think that's a great idea!" She nodded her head excitedly. She ran a quick circle around the giant female, white paws flitting over the ground. "Let's go!" She yipped upon the second circle around, racing off towards the woods where it looked like one of the ends of the rainbow landed. "Mister!" Astrid hollered, pausing momentarily as she noticed a hulking shape slinking past and muttering. "Aren't you gonna come see where the rainbows go?" She asked, clearly concerned for him. Did he have his nose so stuck in the ground that he had he just missed the splendor that sprawled above their heads? She didn't want anyone to miss such a rare event, and the even rarer discovery of the rainbow's end. RE: siamese twins by choice - Marianna - Aug 06, 2017 [dohtml] “Awesome!” Man, it felt really good when someone thought you had a great idea! It didn’t happen a lot, not for Ari – not when she lived in the canyon, not when she lived with Gent and his family, and not now either, living by herself – so while it might not have been that big of a deal to the little golden girl, it certainly felt wonderful for the big burly bear dog. She loped behind the other wolf easily, tail whipping back and forth like it might propel her on joy alone. Shoot, she probably wouldn’t have even noticed the male wolf lurking by himself if her new friend hadn’t spoken up. “Yeah man, there’s like, two of ‘em!” She didn’t really wanna stop, not when it looked like they were getting closer…and it looked like the colors were starting to fade a little. Even Ari knew that rainbows wouldn’t last forever. She bumped one of her thick shoulders into the other female, tossing her head towards the sky. “C’mon, we gotta hurry! Because they go away!” Like, sure, it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but she really wanted to see what happened when a rainbow hit the earth! Surely it would be just as spectacular as the rainbows themselves! @Zev
RE: siamese twins by choice - Zev - Aug 29, 2017 Zev needed a distraction, this search was not yielding results, and killing himself over plants was not something he had planned to do. suddenly he realized that there were two females here now not just one, his eyes widened, he seemed confused trying to remember what had been spoken. aaaaahhhh he blinked at them, where they going to show him where the skullcap was? or were they going somewhere else he could not recall he pulled his tongue back in his mouth and snapped his teeth shut, then he opened his mouth like he was gong to ask a question then thought better of it Lead the way.. He turned to fall into step behind the pair, he had no idea where they were going or why he was bothering to follow them except he hoped to find his herb at some point. His tail swayed behind him giving off the impression he was either happy or at least content, he looked over his two unwitting companions, sizing them up, he could probably take them on individually but now that there were two of them he might have difficulty should they turn on him or he on them. So for now he'd behave and just act as a travel companion, it seemed this pair was on a mission and so was he, only time would tell if their goal was the same. |
