Tin Star - Kajika - Jun 06, 2017

@Chan

[Dohtml]

Life in Fallen Tree Cove hadn't been the same since his return and even after he'd talked with Lunette. However, each day the dark beta got up every morning and went about his duties just as he had every other day. The desire to go out and find the man who'd murdered Des was always there but it wasn't a good time for him to go seeking revenge. There were too many things in the cove that required his attention and one of those reasons resided in the den that he stood in front of. Actually two reasons we're in the den, Moonshadow and his godson Chan.

His friend had finally brought her son out to meet the world, it had been the first time Kajika had seen his godson since the day he was born. He couldn't believe how much the boy had grown in just a few short weeks.

Now that Chan was out and about Kajika thought it was time he got to know his godson a little better. He wasn't sure what they would do that day since he didn't have much experience with pups so young but he was sure they could find something. Thinking the best place to find his godson was the den he went there in search of the young Eastfall. “Chan are you around?” He called as he entered the clearing outside Moonshadow's den.

The pup had been spending a lot of his time outside, rolling around in the grass or pulling sticks, stones, plants, even bugs into the den. They were pretty or fun to watch, even though Mama hadn't been too pleased with them. But hey he the boy found his small treasures interesting. Though right now he managed to understand that the den was not a good place to hide his treasures so now he was dining a hole, yup. Underground hiding spot seemed like a good idea. He saw Mama hide food that way so he could surely hide his treasures right?

Though the young boy's attention was soon drawn from his work to a voice that called out for him. Oh, he knew him it was the dark man, the godfather. The small brown dirt covered pup hurried forth to great the man with small barks and a wagging tail. Did he have something for him? Or maybe he comes to play! The pup smiled brightly as he looked up excitement bubbling in every fiber of his little body. Why was he so slow to tell him what that he wanted! After all, it had to be fun right?

It was new to him, having a godson, it was an honor that he never imagined would be bestowed upon him. Yet Moonshadow seemed to think that he was up for the job despite what he had been through earlier in the year. What he he was going through then as he moved through each day. The dark beta pushed that all aside as he came upon the den where he hoped to find little Chan, his godson. The thought of it brought a smile to the Tallis man's maw as he was quite proud to have Chan as his Godson.

He went calling for the boy at the mouth of the den but after waiting a moment with no answer he wondered if the boy might have ventured out in his own. He was now leaving the den after Moonshadow had introduced him to the pack which after the snake incident he’d been worried that Chan might not want to.

Kajika chuckled as Chan, covered in dirt appeared leaving the beta to wonder what the child had been doing only moments before. “There you are. I was afraid I was going to have to conduct a search,” he jested despite feeling it might be lost on the pup. “Now that I've found you what do you say to a little adventure? I'm sure your mother won't mind if I steal you away for a short time.” Perhaps he could teach the boy a few things along the way which he knew Moonshadow would like.

The young Eastfall looked puzzled by the dark man's comment on a search, why would they have to look for him? However, soon his little face was pulled back into folds of excitement and a stream of tiny barks left his jaws. "Aventur, Aventur" he chanted a few times jumping around lightly. Oh, how exciting, he was going to have fun with his godfather, and they were going on their weary own adventure! Oh yes, he wondered what they would see, maybe they see on of those shiny bugs that Mama said he could not bring in the den. Or a bird! or, or. or uh there were so many things to see he wondered what the dark man would show him today. But he knew it was going to be interesting and fun!

Though where would they go? Chan turned to Kajika with wonder and excitement in his tiny puppy blue eyes a large smile on his lips. "we go?" he asked the man "where go?" the young .eastfall tilted his head nose twitching slightly, wondering if the dark man was going to take him down to the lake, or maybe to the large trees or up to the wired rocks he and mama had found. No, wait they could not go there, he found that with mama so it was his and mama's place. Besides his godfather would not know where it was and he wasn't certain either.

There was a part of Kajika that couldn't wait for Chan to be bigger so that he could travel further as there were so many places he wanted to take him. On the other paw he liked watching the boy develop and learn and mostly the excited looks that crossed his features when something brought them to his face. A smile tugged at the dark man's lips as Chan declared he wanted an adventure. “Well little man, it is an adventure you shall have,” he said giving the boy a little bump with his muzzle to Chan’s cheek. The beta had almost made up his mind to take his Godson first to the lake before heading into the forest where he knew of a place with fallen trees that Chan could climb on.

The Tallis man chuckled, “Yes of course we go,” he responded to the question and then his godson wanted to know where they were going, “The lake first. We can scare up some crawfish and then the next place is a surprise but I think you'll like it.” Kajika thought the boy would enjoy chasing the Crawfish through the water and it would also allow for the dirt to he cleaned from his pelt. He didn't want Moonshadow to see her son in such a state especially after he'd spent the afternoon with his godfather. “Shall we get started? We've got lots to do,” he said before turning toward the trees.

Chan let out a strange sound in between a cry and a howl of happiness as his godfathers agreed that they would be going on an adventure. Oh, what a blessing, what fun to go an adventure to day! To go see and explore all day long and gather more treasures for his tressure hiding spot!

And as the dark man bumped his mussel to Chan's cheek the boy left a few light licks on the other wolfs nose. It would be fun, his godfather was such an awesome wolf, he did all kind of great stuff with him!

He jumped around himself barking as Kjika said where they be going though a puzzled look on his tiny young face by the thought of these 'crawfish' "what CabFish?" he asked curiously, wondering if it be something he could bring back home for his treasures. Chan nodded wildly at his Godfather's next question, a wide smile on his face. "Yes, go, go, go we go to Cabfish, lake, and supise" he giggled as he jumped around following the dark man. Kajika should likely be happy that one could not split in half down the middle of pure excitement or happiness, for if one could Chan would have been in two pieces at that moment.

This was going to be so much fun!

A smile crossed the dark man's maw as the boy expressed his happiness at going on an adventure. Kajika could only hope that what he had planned for Chan would live up to the expectation that the word adventure entailed. He didn't want to disappoint his godson on their outing.

The bump to the boys cheek with his muzzle was rewarded with several tiny licks in his nose. Kajika chuckled at the boys antics, it was good to see Chan so happy especially after the incident with the rattlesnake.

Before they could set off on their trek to the lake it seemed that the boy was curious about the Crawfish his Godfather had mentioned. Kajika thought for a moment on how to explain crawfish to him. “They are kind of like fish but and live in the water but they don't look like fish. They have pincher like claws and they live under rocks,” he hoped that would clear things up for the pup. If not he hoped that it would be cleared up when he saw them. “Let's go,” he said another wide smile crossing his features as he started for the path to the lake. “It won't take us too long to get there and then I will show you all about the Crawfish," he told Chan as they started down the path.

His head tilted as his brown floppy ears perked forwards as his godfather described these crawfish. "wha's a pincer?" he asked as the duo began their walk to the lake. The boy bounded forwards down the familiar path to the lake. He ran straight to the water and began to splash around as he waited for Kajika to catch up. Finally the dark man made his way onto the shore. Chan bounded towards the man with glee all over his face. In true puppy fashion the boy bounded up to the man before shaking his soaked fur out sending water flying everywhere.

"Cabfish! Cabfish!" he chanted as he jumped around. He loved adventure time with Kajika, they always had the best of times! Puppy blue eyes looked on expectantly as he waited for the man to show him where these crawfish were. He wanted to see what a fish with pinchers looked like.

After they had begun their trek down the familiar path to the lake Kajika had explained to his godson about Crawfish. What they looked like and about their pinchers. The beta didn't feel his description nearly prepared the boy for what they were about to find. “They are like jaws only instead of being on their faces they carry them on their front legs,” he explained when Chan asked him what pinchers were. The dark man fully expected his description to put strange images into the child's head. It had his own when he had described them. He wasn't sure what other way to explain them to his godson.

They soon made it to the water with Chan rushing ahead and Kajika catching up, he smiled at the boys enthusiasm. Spending time with Chan always did help to improve his mood. Even more so as the pup jumped and bounced around in his excitement. “Are you ready to see one?” He asked bumping Chan's shoulder with his nose. “You watch me and then you can give it a try.” The beta then moved to one of the rockier parts of the lake in the shallows. He prepared himself to catch the Crawfish as it swam away. Then he turned one of the rocks over with his large paw. As expected the creature propelled itself backwards through water away from Kajika. He was quick though and snatched it out of the water before throwing it into the shore for Chan to inspect.

He then stepped out of the water and moved to where the Crawfish had landed on the shore. “Come look, you have to know what it looks like so you can catch it.”

RE: Tin Star - Chan - Aug 31, 2017

As they walked Kajika explained what a pincher was. Like jaws on legs? The image was quite interesting in the young boy's head. He imagined a fish with furry legs that had muzzles attached to the ends of them. His brows furrowed at the thought. How could something like that exist? His confusion melted away as the lake came into sight. Excited Chan ran to the water and begun to splash around. Once his godfather had joined him the boy wriggled with joy asking about the crawfish. His bouncing only stopped when the dark man asked if he was ready to see one as he nosed the boy's shoulder. He vigorously nodded his head "Ya! Ya! Ya!" he spouted before nodding again to the mans next question. He was definitely ready!

He plopped his fuzzy behind on the rocky shore and watched his teacher move into the water. Puppy blue eyes watched intently as Kajika began to fish. Floppy brown and russet ears perked atop his head as his teacher moved something with his paw. The classic puppy head tilt of confusion ensured as Kajika shot his head into the water and pulled something out. He flicked it onto the beach causing the boy to jump up. His tail wagged rapidly behind him as his godfather encouraged him to take a look. As he neared it stilled as curiosity took ahold.

He watched the red shelled fish thingy squirm on the rocks desperate to get back to the water. Chan barked at it a few times before looking up at Kajika. "Are do'es its pincers?" He asked pointing to the large claws of the crustacean. He got a little too close while sniffing it and its pincher closed around his small coal nose. The cove pup let out a shrill yelp as he reeled back. The crawfish held on tight to the boy's nose despite being shaken all around. Tears welled up in the boys eyes "Get it off, get it off" he whined as he pawed at the red devil.
