A little game of cat and mouse - Bracken - Jul 11, 2017 Flair or Enia! Magpies have overrun the forest! Those magpies were a tease. Bracken's stomach was empty and the scent of the rasping, ornery birds was everywhere. They bounced from tree to tree, swooping so low that the Reinier could feel twigs rain down on her as they landed on dead branches. The young wolf ducked her head, pushing bodily through a half-dead shrub; ignoring the birds animosity as best she could. She hadn't thought it would go on for so long. There seemed to be no end to them and they had not grown used to her presence in the least. The best she could do was getting through the forest as fast as possible, there was no opportunity to search for him or find something to eat. Every once in a while she would find signs of others, abandoned dens long over-grown and dilapidated. Bracken made a quick inspection of what used to be Hollowheart Keep, not grasping the full extent of what must have happened years ago. It was of no real importance to her: nothing edible and no leads in a trail gone cold. Bracken risked a nose in the air, burnt orange eyes following the closest magpie. She hoped this way would lead out of the forest soon. There was no way to tell, the air was as dead as the forest. With a near-silent huff, the young woman continued. Her only option was to keep going forward. RE: A little game of cat and mouse - Flair - Jul 30, 2017 Sorry I took so long getting to this <3 [dohtml]
[/dohtml] RE: A little game of cat and mouse - Bracken - Aug 13, 2017 No worries, Puppy! This week has been crazy for me The magpies themselves were overjoyed with the sight of a fleeing wolf. They screeched back and forth to each other, celebrating their position as top predator. Finally, they had conquered the mighty wolf! To reinforce this turn of events they launched at her gray-streaked rump, sometimes coming away with fur in their claws. Bracken felt a little differently about the whole situation. Her annoyance was beginning to turn to alarm. She rushed along, uncaring of the undergrowth that scraped and caught in her coat. There would be time to groom it out later, once she found her way out of the forest. She hurried along, ears pressed down to protect them and not looking up from the path in front of them. The last thing Bracken was expecting to see was another wolf, and she didn't notice Flair until the last second. She looked up at the flash of red fur and ungracefully swung wide to avoid a collision, uttering a breathless "Oh, shit." Leaves and branches broke underfoot as she struggled to a hasty stop, wide orange eyes never leaving the Athesila. The surprise made her forget the magpies for a moment. Bracken perked her ears amiably and stepped forward, "Hey, do you know how—" Her words were cut off as a furious magpie launched itself down at the insolent wolf. Bracken stumbled backwards, snapping her teeth in it's direction... least it get too close. Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - Aug 13, 2017 There is a family of deer nearby. Hunt Opportunity |
