RE: Song of the Shepherd's Dog - Lenae - Aug 14, 2017

Lenae couldn't help but wiggle her tail-and by extension her butt- in relief at Wraith's words. She'd never seen herself as punctual, but there she was, having arrived to the pack meeting on time! Even after she'd been distracted by flowers. It was no doubt a stupid thing to get excited about, but it made her feel good. Like she was already doing Piety and Wraith proud. That's all she wanted these days, everything else was out of reach. Like she was grasping for the stars in the night sky.

Settling down and shuffling a little closer to Cyril in the process, Lenae shot him a winning smile. Weren't things good? This rock wasn't so bad after all.

The conversation quickly turned to the prospect of a pack hunt. Oh, it had been so long since she'd been on one. For a moment she feared whether she would be of any use, after all she was pretty small. But Cheedo didn't let that stop her, she often went off to hunt by herself and more often than not brought something back. If she could do it, then why couldn't Lenae? At least in this instance she would have a pack to help her out and as Piety said, it was important to lead by example. If Cyril was ever going to be a hunter he would have to learn from those who already knew how it was done.

Nodding along-eagerly, no less- Lenae couldn't help but sputter a little when Wraith mentioned her- or rather her sister's-name. Ah yes, they did have such a conversation. His words had caught her unaware and for a moment, rather foolishly, she assumed he'd been talking about the real Everly. The one everyone  had seemed to prefer over herself. Before she'd vanished, of course...For all intents and purposes she didn't exist anymore. She was dead like the rest.

"I will do my best! I hope you don't mind Cyril,  I'll try and make it fun!"

That probably wasn't the most important fact but...things were easier to remember if you were having a good time, right?

"Thanks for giving me this chance you guys." Oh no. She sniffed, she was getting emotional. Abort , abort.

She was pleased that everything was flowing so smoothly. Her head tilted softly as she listened to Cheedo speak up. "I'm beyond thrilled with the progress you've been making, Cheedo." It was nice to have the female with them. She proved herself useful with everything really. The day she could dub the small blue-eyed second a Scout of Whitestone Monadnock would be a joyous day indeed. It had been some time sense they had someone properly trained in a role.

Her gaze shifted down towards her dark coated husband. A smile tugging on her lips. She wished he would have let Everly speak up but then again hadn't she introduced the girl to the whole group? Not to mention the female still seemed skittish. Who knew how well she would have spoken amongst the group? Of course, luck would have it that Everly spoke up. Her muddy gaze looking to the female with kindness as she spoke. "It's our pleasure." And Piety had faith that Cyril would be just as excited to have another teacher.

The pale Kael leader was pleased that everyone seemed to enjoy the idea of a pack hunt. Even @Odin seemed to be in agreeance despite his silent presence in the background. "Well then," She spoke calmly. "I believe that that concludes the meeting. You're all excused unless there are further questions." The pale female slid down into a laying position and offered a nod. Just like some sort of meet and greet she would hang around in case anyone needed to talk to her, or her husband.

RE: Song of the Shepherd's Dog - Cyril - Aug 21, 2017

@Wraith @Lenae feel free to PP Cyril going with one of you, depending if he's allowed to go adventuring with Lenny or not :B <3

Wait. Everly—his favourite wolf aside from his parents—was going to be teaching him stuff? And spending time with him? Why wouldn’t be okay with that?! He nearly shrieked at the revelation, his little paws vibrating with excitement as his gaze flickered between his father and his tawny friend. Even though meetings were still boring this was the best day ever because he was going to spend even more time with his best friend. Holy moly.

He nodded frantically as Everly acknowledged him, his needle-like teeth flashing stark white against his dark lips. “Def’ not mind!” He chirped quietly, his tail wagging gently behind him. The little Kael did not want to make a scene in front of his packmates. On the inside he was doing somersaults and parading about the clearing, but on the outside he was struggling to remain composed. He was a good boy. He would wait until after the meeting properly congratulate his best friend.

And they were finally dismissed! His shoulders sagged with relief as he padded toward his mother, his nose burying into her scruff before turning to Everly, a crooked grin returning to his dark features. “Go e’splor?” He asked, the question pointed at both his parents and his friend. “An’ teach,” he added with a sharp nod, hoping that he would be allowed to go adventure with the agouti. For educational purposes of course.

RE: Song of the Shepherd's Dog - Wraith - Aug 22, 2017

Wraith watched with a kind smile as Everly wagged her tail at his praise. She was getting better, he observed. Not quite so closed off, not quite so anxious. Still shy, of course, but no worse than Cheedo had been when she first joined. And look where the up and rising scout was now! Pretty soon, the woman would be among the ranks. Regardless of whether or not she'd earned the title, Wraith already considered her a decent scout and would rely on her skills for the upcoming hunt as well. She'd proven before in a pack hunt that she was capable.

The male's gaze turned on Cyril. He had behaved remarkably during the meeting, and Wraith remembered well how hard it was to sit still politely as a pup when the adults were talking. Cyril's obvious pleasure at learning Everly would be one of his teachers earned a slow swish of his tail across the ground. Seeing his son happy ranked among the best parts of his life. When the boy toddled up to his mother, Wraith watched with love as affection was shared between the pair. How many wolves were so lucky to have this?

At their son's question, Wraith exchanged a glance with Piety before nodding. "You may," he approved gently. "Thank you for behaving so well." Wraith leaned over to run a kiss along the boy's back, and then turned to Everly. "Give a call if you need anything. We'll be there," he promised, wanting to remind the agouti female that she was pack now and didn't have to do everything on her own.

"Cheedo!" Wraith called, finally standing to address her. "Join me? We'll scout on the herd locations if you're ready." His amber gaze moved over to Odin as well. "You're welcome to join us, son," he said affectionately.

The male dipped his head to lick at Piety's forehead in goodbye. "We'll be back later. Call if you need anything."

RE: Song of the Shepherd's Dog - Cheedo - Aug 22, 2017

The meeting seemed to be going quite well and Cheedo had even surprised herself by speaking up about how far she'd come in her role. Her tail swept the ground as she offered Piety a kind smile for her praise. She was happy to hear how pleased her Alpha's were with her progress and the work she did for the pack. It was much different than how her life had been under Craw’s rule but she liked that she actually felt a part of something.

Everly had spoken up to about becoming a teacher for Cyril, it seemed the shy wolf had found something to help the pack. She offered her and encouraging smile.

Then there was Cyril ever eager to learn, she hoped she'd be able to steal him away on occasion to go scouting with her. Perhaps later in the evening she would speak to him about accompanying her in the days to come.

Once everyone had spoken Piety was dismissing them from the meeting, Cheedo was glad that it had went so well. Her ears perked when she heard Wraith say her name. She turned her head and gave the man a nod, “Yes of course, I'm always ready,” she told before moving to join him. Her gaze then went to the dark figure of Odin as Wraith offered for him to come along with them. “You should come Odin, give us a chance to get acquainted.” She had yet to formally introduce herself to the dark male and this would he a perfect opportunity.

Cheedo then followed as they went in search of the herds.

RE: Song of the Shepherd's Dog - Lenae - Aug 26, 2017

It was all good. Maybe pack meetings weren't as scary as she'd thought they'd be. Back home they had been such morbid affairs, they never gathered to talk about good things, only the bad. So it was only natural that the little Selwyn had come to dread them, had preferred to hide and ignore her Father's call instead of heeding it as a good daughter should.

But things were different here, so very different and yet almost better.

Nodding along, Lenae couldn't help but agree with Cyril. Yes, explore and teach! That sounded like a fun time to her. To both of their obvious relief, the alphas seemed content to allow them this. She was an adult-technically- but that didn't stop Lenae from slapping her paws down on the ground as he butt began to sway a mile a minute, struggling to keep up with the blur of her tail.

"Yes! Let's go, race you!"

Lenae was small, fast. But she was feeling generous, she would let Cyril win this time. As to whether they'd actually get around to do any teaching whilst out on their adventure, well Lenae wouldn't be too upset if they didn't. A good time was a good time, and there was always another day to work on that sort of thing. As of there and then she wanted to have fun with her friend.

Kicking off into a spring, Lenae dashed away from the gathering area and peered over her shoulder to make sure Cyril was following as well. Today was a good day indeed.

Cyril and Leane exit

With everyone dispersing it seemed she would find herself in her own company this afternoon. She smiled softly and nudged her mate as he walked away. The pale leader was certain she wouldn't need anything with her mood being good and her subordinates busy. Once they were gone she made her way back to the pack den, eager to catch up on the sleep she had missed in order to hold the early meeting.
