resurrection fern - Hawthorne - Aug 02, 2017 [dohtml] Hawthorne Riverflow The lovesong of the buzzard in the dogwood tree
Despite the sun making its last appearance in the sky, Hawthorne couldn't sleep just yet. Energy flowed through her puppy form as she bounded towards the communal den. Surely one of the grown-ups would still be up. Perhaps Nauja or Jynx. Maybe even Emrys. She wondered if he was out doing that thing he called a patrol but then she figured he would have stopped by to say something. With a high pitched yap she came into view of the main den. Gray and black form peering into the entrance to try and spot someone worthwhile. It never occurred to her that perhaps everyone was already bedding down for the evening or out do their last duties. Hawthorne dramatically planted her rump on the earthy ground with a sigh. Well, how boring was this! She didn't just wanna sit around and watch the sun disappear over the Fir trees she called home. That was boring. Pale orange eyes (that would turn more vibrant once they transitioned all the way) looked around the area. What was she to do without company? She supposed that she could return back to the den but as long as the sky was still light, she would still have the want to do something other than sleep. RE: resurrection fern - Elyan - Aug 03, 2017 [dohtml] He'd been tossing and turning since his mother told him it was time to sleep but Elyan felt he might have taken one too many naps that day. He still had plenty of energy and felt he could go a few more hours at least. Laying in his back next to his sister he could see the light fading from the den entrance and knew that night was coming. It had taken him a long time to figure that out and now that he knew he was proud to have the knowledge. The gray pup looked around the den the best he could at the sleeping residents wishing one of them would wake and keep him company. With a sigh the boy started thinking of all the places he'd had a nap that day, maybe it would help him to fall asleep. He'd only gotten as far as the second place, that large tree across the clearing from the den in the soft patch of grass. A yap sounded from outside sending him into his stomach. For a minute he didn't hear anything, starting to think he might have been wishing too hard for someone to play with. With a huff he sat up deciding he was done waiting to find out if he'd actually heard the yip. Silently he crept to the den entrance, if his parents caught him he would be in very big trouble. When he had a clear view of the outside he saw her, his gray and black friend. A smile crossed his features and an idea entered his head. Without another moment wasted her barreled out of the den and right into her. Before she could lift herself from her spot something hit her from the back. Almost instantly the young Riverflow was meeting the ground below with a thud. Instead of crying or yelling she rolled over and swung out a paw with the intent to hit whatever had knocked her over. It was after she swung her paw out that she was it was the tawny form of Elyan. Even when she had realized it was a friend and not foe she didn't feel bad about striking back. He had, after all, started it by tackling her from behind. "Elyan!" She cried excitedly. Hawthorne had completely ignored the fact that his parents may have been nearby and he likely should have been in the den (just like herself). Regardless, if he had managed to sneak out then maybe his parents would mind too much. It was just right outside of the den after all. Well, for now at least. Hawthorne rolled over onto her stomach before pushing herself up. She took a few bounds forward before whispering to her friend. "Whatcha wanna do? I couldn't sleep." The grey and black girl admitted with a shrug. They likely didn't have too much time before one of their parents noticed they were 'missing'. RE: resurrection fern - Elyan - Aug 21, 2017 [dohtml] When he pounced on her he hadn't thought so far ahead of what she might so when he did. All he was thinking about was how much fun it would be to sneak up on her and then jump on her. He wasn't expecting the paw that swing out and hit him causing him to land in the ground with a, “Omph.” He hadn't even thought about the fact that his parents were right inside the den and would be furious if they found out he snuck out. As he rolled into his stomach a smile broke across his little maw as she exclaimed name. “Good see you, Hawth.” He rose to his feet with a glance back at the den as he remembered where exactly they were. When he didn't hear any sounds coming from within beside that of sleeping wolves he turned back to his friend. He was curious what she was doing out so late but that didn't matter. They had the whole night and no adults to tell them they couldn't do something. He was just about to open his mouth and ask her what she was doing when she bounded over to him and whispered her reason. “I couldn't sleep either,” he whispered back, “There's lots to do.” Before he could tell her what he wanted to do he reached out and nipped her ear before bumping her shoulder and taking off across the clearing. A good game of chase seemed like a great idea to start if the night of fun they had ahead of them. Hawthorne couldn't help but giggle as Elyan met the ground. Sure she felt a little bad about swinging at him so rough but he had kind of deserved it. Sneaking up on her like that warranted some kind of retaliation. She smiled wide as her tail whipped behind her growing frame. It seemed like they were always happy to see each other. Really Hawthorne had never met someone who was unhappy to see her. All of her friends in the Notch were so kind! A mischevious grin pulled on her masked face when he admitted to having the same issue as her. Sure it wasn't great that they couldn't sleep but at least she wasn't gonna be awake and alone! Almost right when she was gonna ask what he wanted to do he tugged on her ear and took off. That simply wouldn't do! "Hey!" She loudly whispered as she chased after his tawny form. Her mouth was parted as her tongue lolled out of her mouth, giving a rather silly childish appearance - she was a child after all. If she could catch up to her friend she would attempt to shove into his back end. Nothing too rough but just enough to give him a little trip up or so. Hawthorne wanted to be in the lead! RE: resurrection fern - Elyan - Sep 05, 2017 [dohtml] When he ended up in the ground from her seat at him with her paw Elyan merely took it as an invitation to play. That was the thing they should be doing while they didn't have to worry about rules. What were they to do while his parents were asleep in the den? It was night and he was with his friend and it made sense they should do all the things they weren't supposed to do during the day. That was what led him to nip her ear before barreling off out if the clearing. “Catch if can,” he said over his shoulder as he ran away from her. She was a little bigger than him but he was becoming more sure in his feet. He only looked back once to see if she was following and she was. It pushed him to run a little faster but he could hear her gaining on him and then he felt the little shove which cause him to topple to the ground. [/dohtml] |
