Die for you - Rory - Aug 11, 2017 For @Darkmoon hope it's okay to place it in Sunrise Ridge. Also, should we assume they already know each other or start over fresh? [dohtml] i don't even know if i believe Aurora Thanne
Judging from the dark and speckled sky, it was well past her bedtime but the young Thanne was restless. It often happened when her stomach jumbled and jarred from hunger and her paws ached from endless travel without reward, but on most nights she could calm herself down long enough to rest. Today was different simply because her body refused to settle down to rest, no matter how many positions she twisted and turned into therefore she lifted onto stiff legs for a leisurely walk, content to wander the shadows alone. Pale light bounced off her pelt, giving the illusion of a ghost walking the night life in search of innocent souls to torment, but Rory was far from a pack and any souls wandering around at this time of night were probably as restless as she was. She could only hope so much; company had come few and far between lately. When she heard a sound in the distance she paused, searching the land for any movement and upon seeing non continued on, her mind a jumbled mess. She was beginning to grow more accustomed to her acentric and elaborate ideas, they often involved finding food in the grand scheme of things but on occasion she thought of the wolves she’d met so far and her heart would leap with excitement. She wondered if they thought of her, or whether she’d made enough of an impression that they even considered meeting with her again at all, it was quite the idea but then again, it was much too far-fetched for her to believe. She was a lone wolf, a creature without a home and a job to set her apart from the many who thought to stick it out in the wild before finding a pack to settle into so what made her so special. She couldn’t decide. Her paws began to ache once more and she settled onto her haunches with a sigh, lifting her paws and shaking them in hopes to relieve some tension, in the background she heard the call of an owl and ducked just quick enough to witness it swoop down over her head and grab a mouse in its enormous claws. Lucky for her, she was much too large to be owl food, but the event reminded her that she wasn’t quite invincible considering the many nocturnal predators that lived in the lore and she continued on, albeit much slower. No destination in mind, she had wandered far from her resting spot but she hardly minded, it was probably well overdue for her to move on anyway. RE: Die for you - Darkmoon - Sep 16, 2017 [dohtml] I decided he would remember her :P The meadow was bathed in a pale light, a cloudless sky revealing the moon's white face. The clearing was otherwise motionless as Darkmoon's hazel eyes scanned its grassy expanse, here and there broken up by a tussock of grass or a stunted tree. He walked slowly, the dried grass crunching under his paws, but there was nothing around to capture his attention. Although it seemed like he was constantly on the hunt for food, after his time at Turtleback Lake he felt less desperate for it. He had regained some of his body condition, but he was hardly at a healthy weight yet. Still, one could only spend so much time in the same location, particularly somewhere so close to the borders of a pack. @Rory RE: Die for you - Rory - Sep 19, 2017 @Darkmoon yay! :D [dohtml] i don't even know if i believe Aurora Thanne
It wasn't long after the owl begin its ascend into the darkness that her ears swiveled in the direction of approaching feet and her eyes fell upon a figure that had approached her from nowhere. There was no time for her to react, his deep voice had caught her off guard and froze her feet at their spot, as eyes wide with fright and confusion struggling to remember the wolf who had approached her without so much as a warning. From first glance he resembled Aytigin and her heart nearly leaped out from her chest in excitement but something was off about his pelt and she gave him another once over. He definitely wasn't Aytigin. She fought for the memory of this man and it didn't take long before her face was contoured with a realization of where she had saw this man before. He had helped to lead her down the mountain when she had so foolishly climbed it and now he had found her in Windsong Fjord to continue their meeting, apparently happy to see her despite her failed attempt in remembering him from the start. She hoped he hadn't noticed and played it off expertly just in case he had. "Hey, what you are you doing out here?!" she asked him with a small smile, inching closer to him and noticing that even at this distance he blended into the backdrop of darkness, she focused on the beaming light of his eyes and cast another smile in greeting.
If she recalled correctly, this male hadn't been the most friendly of guides and in fact he hadn't seemed to have wanted her company even though they had traveled down the entire length of the mountain together. She supposed that was just his character but why then was he so eager to approach her, she assumed it probably had something to do with hunger, loners were always in search of food to fill their never satisfied bellies and she figured this male was no different. He would realize soon enough that Rory was all skin and bones like him. "anything new with you?" she asked, wanting to push the conversation along, them standing out in the open made them prime targets. RE: Die for you - Darkmoon - Sep 24, 2017 [dohtml] What was he doing there? Well, he could ask her the same thing, he thought with indignation. The insolence of it. He was beginning to regret approaching her (why had he called out to her in the first place anyway?), but her smile suggested that the question was innocent enough, and he deigned to remain in her presence, at least for a short while longer. They had spent time together before, after all, and she had not been too much of a bother, he supposed. @rory[/dohtml] RE: Die for you - Rory - Oct 24, 2017 I left this thread lingering for way too long, forgive me! >.< [dohtml] i don't even know if i believe Aurora Thanne
There was no denying the awkwardness in the air, and Rory hadn't made it any better by asking a wolf she hadn't seen in months why he was in the same area that she was. In her defense, she wasn't the most social of wolves and often lacked the confidence to hold onto and build positive relationships and her strained encounter with Darkmoon was no different. She could tell that the male was being polite, even if it did look strange on him, and because of that Rory maintained a pleasant smile and answered his question without missing a beat. Nope, nothing new."seems that they both were good at staying under the radar and out of trouble, which didn't make for lasting conversation. She tried something else to keep the conversation going, "I haven't seen you around in a while, have you been in the North?"
