She marveled at her daughter’s expression, fighting back a roll of her eyes. “If ya try, m’sure you’ll be surprised ‘bout whatcha can really do.” The stubborn queen argued as they continued to move along the path. “Besides… th’lesson ain’t gonna be right now… in a week or so. So ya ‘ave time ta mentally prepare.” Or more of worry herself half to death if she was anything like her mother was… evidence showed that she was most definitely like her mother. The woman’s nose nudged the girl along as they finally found their way back into the familiar territory of the River.

“See, told ya we wouldn’t get lost.” The scent lines were comforting, reminded her of home. Of course that was because she was home. They both were, and it made her more confident in herself than she often was.

She exhaled a heavy sigh of relief, her shoulders sagging as she continued at her mother’s side. So she had some time to prepare herself for the hunt. To practice on her own, as she had to make sure she didn’t completely suck and embarrass both her parents. How dreadful. She would never hear the end of it from her sister… and she couldn’t let her parents down. They did not want to disappoint them. “Oookay,” she grumbled in response as she flashed her mother a cheeky grin, her tail swaying slowly behind her pale body. She wasn’t going to like it but for her mother (and father) the little Stark would certainly try.

As they arrived at the borders Lavender nearly squealed with excitement. The fog had begun to dim as they ventured through the trees and had almost completely dispersed at the edge of Hearthwood. It had certainly made it tricky to navigate through the woods, but her mother had done it with ease. “Good job, Ma!” She chirped as she pressed her nose to Lilya’s foreleg. Now she just needed to memorize the path they had just taken so she wouldn’t get lost again

Lilya grinned at her daughter as she pressed her nose to her foreleg. She was blessed, even with everything that had happened to get her to this point. Even with all of the pain and tragedy that had paved the way – she had Lachesis, and she had their children. She even had Laddeus… even if he wasn’t there physically to play with his sisters and become every bit like his father… she knew he was there somewhere. In a way, she’d been able to come to peace with it.

“We did it t’gether.” She insisted softly, not willing to take all the credit as she nudged Lavender along. “C’mon let’s go find a cache ta eat outta n'I'll tell ya a story.” The war veteran did love her stories.
