The Harvest - Emrys - Sep 06, 2017 @Eleanor [Dohtml] The pale leader stopped in his patrols to look out over the lands that surrounded the territory that now belonged to him and Jynx. There were times it was still hard to believe but he was getting used to the idea. He scented the air and faint hint of winter seemed to be on it, or that was just his imagination. The children were getting bigger and winter was most certainly on the way. It would he the first winter that he and his mate would be leading the pack. To say he was a little worried was an understatement. Winter had been hard on the notch wolves the previous year and he worried if White Fir Notch would make it through another. They had suffered many hardships the past spring and summer, the biggest was losing his son. Emrys stepped out across the border as he wondered if Hawthorne was enjoying the trip she'd taken with her mother. He worried about the cub but there was nothing he could do, he didn't want the child to be held back or resent him for not letting her go. He did miss her presence in his patrols. Making his way down the the spring he got himself a drink of the cool water before continuing on. Perhaps hunting will make things better but he didn't feel much like it. Searching for herbs, that always helped to make him feel better. He soon found himself in the place where he had asked Jynx to be his mate, the place would always be special for that. He began to examine the different plants in the area for ones that he could take back. He lowered his head to sniff at a plant that was close to the water as his ears flicked upon hearing the sound of someone drawing closer. Eleanor’s dense coat kept her warm, but the temperature wasn’t that bad either. She had been on her own for a few years now. Her father and pack had been killed by poachers, and her poor mother and brother fell ill and died. Her past only helped her become who she was now. Elle told the truth like it was. No sugar coating anything. The large bear-like female was motherly though and had plenty of empathy for others. She loved to help wolves who passed her by. Lumbering…. Lumbering… Elle wasn’t the fastest wolf, due to her size, so she seemed to look like a large, silver, grey, and white grizzly bear walking through the forest. Some would think her age was much more than what it truly is because how big she was. Her size tended to intimidate others, and she would always get hurt by those who fled from her. Truly, she was a kind female. Slower….. Slower… She lifts her head in the air and took in the scent of an unknown wolf. Male. She already knew that there was a pack nearby, but she was not in the territory. The she-wolf took another whiff… Alpha. Now her fur stood up a bit. She was unsure if this Alpha was… respectable or not. If he was, then she would return the respect, but if not, then she would give him what he deserves. RE: The Harvest - Jynx - Sep 06, 2017 Popping Jynx in here. She is just observing for now. [dohtml] A lot was on the matriarch's mind as of late. But not enough to make her worry. Yet. Summer was drawing to a close, and their numbers had neither grown nor dwindled. The children were healthy and growing into fine young wolves. Fortune had seemingly given the Notch wolves a break as far as intruders such as bears or mountain lions were concerned. She was aware of Sylva's departure with Hawthorne, but didn't know the exact details as to why. Mentally she scolded herself for not seeking out her lover sooner, to get the full run down. Part of her worried...wondered that if the mother daughter duo would even come back at all. She may be their Queen, but she was not their owner. No wolf had the right to forcibly root another down where they did not wish to be. Like those who had left the Notch before, it was by their own will. More loyal wolves could be found elsewhere.Remembering how hard the past winter had been on the pack, Jynx was almost thankful for their slim numbers. If the coming winter was to be a mirror of the past one, then the less mouths to feed, the better. She, Emrys and their son and daughter would grow up well fed, spared the harshness of a cold, hungry season. Time would tell if the pack had what it took to pull through another year. With the pups old enough to be left on their own, and her mind pre-occupied, she trailed after the scent of Emrys. It had been a while since they had spent some time together, and she wanted to discuss a few things with him as well. His scent led her towards the borders and beyond, to the place where they had first proclaimed their love for another. A faint smile grew on her lips at the memory. No matter what the future held, they would always have each others backs. That she knew without a doubt. The flicker of his white fur through the slowly fading green foliage caught her eye, and she was about to release a soft rumble of greeting. But the shift of another pale coat, this one of silvery white, made her eyes blink. The scent of this wolf...a female...was unfamiliar, and she was lurking outside of their borders. Not close enough to warrant a warning, but enough for some observation. She was likely just passing through, or possibly investigating the scent of the pack, should she be in need of a home. To show her lack of immediate concern, Jynx lowered herself to her haunches. Ears pricked attentively, yellow eyes flicking between Emrys and the lone female. The russet agouti Queen made no attempt at hiding herself. Not that it would do much good, with the contrast of her fur amidst the greenery. .JYNX-Ky b {font-weight:bold; color:#46507E; letter-spacing:1px; font-family: Garamond,Baskerville,Baskerville Old Face,Hoefler Text,Times New Roman, serif; font-size:14px;text-shadow: 0 0 6px #f2f2e3;} .JYNX-Ky p {padding: 5px 25px; margin:0px;text-indent:35px;} .JYNX-Ky {margin:0px auto; width:600px; background-color:#f2f2e3; background-image:url("https://orig04.deviantart.net/09a6/f/2017/207/b/b/jynx_table_by_kydnt-dbhs1r9.png"); background-position:center bottom; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #ffffff; padding: 20px 0px 440px 0px; font-family: verdana, sans-serif; line-height:26px; font-size:12px; color:#211F37; text-align:justify; text-shadow: 0 0 5px #f2f2e3;} .JYNX-Ky-border {width:602px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0px auto; } [/dohtml] RE: The Harvest - Emrys - Sep 06, 2017 [dohtml] The breeze ruffled the pale fur across his back as he investigated the plants in the area. Searching them out helped to take his mind off the troubles that plagued him. It kept him sane on the days when he felt that the job of being leader was too much. It helped to take everything in stride so that he could remain the capable leader. The loss of his son still played heavily on his mind, he still visited the child's grave as often as possible. He'd made a promise to his mate he would never forget. He was glad to have already replenished their stores after treating Tyne. With winter coming they wouldn't be able to so readily and they may need the things he'd used on the tawny man. This day he was in search of anything that they may need, things that would be good to have in stock in case something happened and they needed it. He of course hoped that wouldn't happen but he was a wolf that liked to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. The pale leader raised his head when the scent of a female caught his attention. He hadn't expected to run into anyone but he didn't mind meeting new wolves as long as they weren't encroaching on his territory. This his female was not and it seemed he had some back up just in case. The scent of his mate also reached him bringing his icy gaze to where she observed at the edge of the forest. Emrys turned his attention back to the female he was unfamiliar with. “Hello there,” he greeted his posture clearly indicating his status. Again his gaze flicked to Jynx before returning to the stranger, “What brings you to this part of the lore?” She was close to their borders though not enough to be threatening with her. It didn't stop him from being curious about her presence. [/dohtml]RE: The Harvest - Eleanor - Sep 06, 2017 Eleanor peeked her head above the bushes in order to see the male. There was also another female. Probably his mate or lover. Elle didn't care though. The large she-wolf walked towards the male who seemed to have already seen Elle. She felt a bit more calm after taking in his appearance. He seemed to be looking at all the herbs and flowers around the area. Was this place special to him? Oh no, was she passing into a sacred space? At this, she began to pick her feet up a bit more, which made her look like she was doing a little dance. Then he spoke, and she stopped. Perking her hears, she leaned her head forward slightly. "Erm, honestly I'm just exploring. I haven't met a pack yet, let alone one that interests me to join," she stated. At this, she twitched her nose as the scent of the other female flooded her nostrils. "Of you want," she said directing her voice towards the female. "You can come over here. I'll think less of being ambushed, and be more at ease," she said in a rather calm tone. |
