Gut Check - Ruari - Oct 04, 2017

[dohtml]
Everything was stiff and he’d wasted a whole day resting his body from his wounds after being treated. As angry as he was at Deag for what he'd done Ruari had to find his brother, he didn't want to be separated from him for too long. They only had each other now and no matter what feelings there were between them the older twin believed they needed to stick together.

It was that which had forced him to drag his body from that soft patch of grass and continue following the brook once more. It was a long process as he picked his way along the edge of the water. Ru was careful where he put his injured paw and would have to rest often. The pain in his wounds would eventually become too much.

He didn't know how far he had traveled before coming to a larger pool of water that the stream fed into or out of. Ruari wasn't sure and at this point he tried to search around for his brothers scent. The twin feared he wouldn't catch up to his brother and then they would be separated and unable to complete what they had come to this land to do.

RE: Gut Check - Sonora - Oct 27, 2017

Somehow the tawny female had ended up going north again after meeting up with the pup Chan. She wasn't sure when it was she'd gotten turned around but she didn't change her direction. Instead she kept going north since she didn't recognize any of the surrounding areas. It seemed she had found a new part of the land and thought it wouldn't hurt to explore it, maybe there was a pack she could visit and speak with one of the members. It could be she would find a place to settle for a short time to rest up after her long journey. Either way she felt it important to check it out.

What she wasn't expecting to find was a dark furred man on the edge of the body of water she'd decided to get a drink from. Sonora was hesitant but she was thirsty and it was the only water she knew if in the area. Deciding she wasn't going to get any where if she just stood back and waiting the tawny female stepped up to the edge of the water a few feet from him. There she proceeded to get her much needed drink all the while keeping an ear in him in case he couldn't be trusted. She chose not to say a word hoping she could get her drink and go without him noticing.

Every step was painful just like everyday since his mother's death was but he hadn't let that pain get in the way of what needed to be done. He wouldn't let the pain of his injuries get in the way either. They had already set him back in the search for his brother and now he was left to worry if he would ever find Deaglan.

He hadn't been searching for his brothers scent for very long when he noticed movement out of the corner of his eye. Lifting his head he noticed a tawny female approach the water. Balancing himself the best he could on his good legs he watched her as she came to the water and lowered her head before starting to drink. He didn't say anything at first but waited until she had finished. It was the polite thing to do after all.

She was glad that he hadn't seemed to notice her at first and it seemed even more possible that she could get her drink and go. The last thing the tawny woman wanted was to get into any kind of trouble. However, as she glanced to the side she noticed he seemed to be having some trouble keeping himself up. She wondered if he would cause her any trouble at all if he couldn't even stand on his own feet.

She finished her drink and lifted her head, that was when she noticed he was looking right at her. The way his yellow eyes rested in hers made Sonora a little nervous. She wondered what was going through his mind right then. She hoped it was nothing bad, perhaps he needed directions which of course she couldn't help him with. Maybe he was hungry and since he appeared to he hurt he needed some help. Finally she turned toward him as she'd grown tired of wondering, “is there something I can do for you?” She asked not hiding her annoyance with his starting.

The shadow watched the woman as she took her drink and did his best not to fall over. The last thing he wanted to do was to appear weak even if ye did have some pretty serious injuries. She finally did lift her head and take notice of him. She didn't seem exasperated that he was there which he was grateful for maybe she would be able to help him.

He took a small limping step toward her when she asked if there was something she could do for him. “I don't know maybe. Have you seen a wolf that looks exactly like me?” He asked hopefully. Perhaps of she had she could give him a general direction to look in.

The water was cool as it slid down her throat and was exactly what she needed after her travels. Still she couldn't get over the fact that there was some male wolf just hovering. She would make him wait and hopefully he wouldn't get upset about it.

She finally turned to him when she had finished her drink and asked if she could help him. As he spoke she thought it was a strange question considering the only wolf she'd seen that looked exactly like him was him. “I'm not sure I follow, your looking for a wolf that looks exactly like you? That's a little odd don't you think?” She really hoped this guy wasn't some weirdo or something. Sonora narrowed her eyes at his as she waited for some sort of explanation.

The shadow could feel his energy draining as he stood there waiting for the tawny woman to finish her drink. Finally when she had finished he asked if she had seen his brother. Her response to the question only left him wondering if she was stupid or something. His lip curled slightly showing the point of one if his incisors. Hadn't she ever heard of twins before?

“It's not odd if he's my twin brother,” growled the shadow. He really wasn't in the mood for this kind of thing. The pain from his wounds was really starting to get to him.

After taking her drink she finally had a chance to really look at the man and noticed a few things about him. First was the fact that he seemed to he having trouble deciding what foot to put his weight on. Then as she looked closer she could see the matter fur in a couple of places, his shoulder and his flank. She found that even more off than the question he'd asked her.

He went on to clarify that it wasn't odd if they were twins. It was the slight show of his teeth and his growl that caused her to take a step back from him her ears flattening against her skull. She didn't want to take her chances. He did however clarify that it was his twin brother he was looking for. She'd heard they it was possible for a wolf to give birth to twins but she didn't know they would look exactly the same. She shook her head, “No, I haven't seen a wolf that looks like you,” she stated.[/dohtml]

If he were honest he wasn't really expecting her to have seen Deaglan. The place they'd come to seemed to he a really big place and his twin brother would be anywhere. That didn't however stop him from hoping that maybe he'd gotten lucky and run into someone who had seen him and could give him some insight as to where to go to look for him.

So he didn't stop the disappointment from showing across his face when she said that she hadn't seen him. His yellow gaze went to the forest behind her for a moment before turning back on the woman. “Very well I will keep looking in that case, thank you for your time.” With that he turned and moved back toward the forest path he'd planned to take before the woman showed up.
