Hues of Blue - Silence - Jan 18, 2012

Partly Cloudy — Current Temperature: 43° F/6° C // Sunrise

The sun finally began to crest over the far off mountains, turning the blue hues of the sky to a dull purple at last. Morning was still a long way off, but that little peep of orange within the world above was enough to drag Silence from her slumber. Together her golden eyes parted and took in the new dawn around her. Stiff from her awkward sleeping position, a small rock a few foot down from the lagoon’s bank, her body was rigid and cold to the bone. She gave an inward shudder as she drew herself up to a sitting position.

A soft yawn escape her jaws, so soft it was in face completely silent, but it still managed to do the job of loosening up her jaws and putting her facial muscles back into action for the new day.

Her vision travelled to the sky, taking in the beautiful colours of blues and purple which stretched from end to end. In the distance a piercing of burnt orange began to climb upwards and turned the few clouds above it a dull blood red. Such pretty colours. She was certain it was going to be a beautiful day. Cold. Yes beautiful.

With a small smile to herself, she clambered back up to the bank of the lagoon. It wasn’t a steep trip, just a little awkward as she skipped from rock to rock, but never less she made it to the top in one piece. Now what was a gal to do?

Hues of Blue - Torla - Jan 18, 2012

Torla had been awake for many hours before passing by the slumbering white wolf. She had taken special care to tread lightly so as not to wake her. She had been heading for the bank of the lagoon for some inward reflection and a drink. When the tawny-colored femme had passed the other female, she hopped lightly to the bank and there she sat in the pre-morning light, staring off into the distance with her orange-yellow eyes.

Where in the world was her family? Triell had been the only one of her siblings she had come across since she had returned to Relic Lore, and he was able to tell her that Ruiko and Kinis had their own pack now. Perhaps she would try to find them. She had long believed her brother Indru to be lost, but apparently he was the lead of a pack as well. But she had not found him here, not yet. It saddened the young Tainn girl. Many other siblings of hers were missing, too, and she had yet to see her nephews or niece. She had left this place for her family. She had returned to this place for her family. And both times, she asked herself the same question.

"Where are you?" she whispered now to the still waters as the sun rose over them, painting the sky brilliant hues of purple and blue, tinged with red. Though the sight was beautiful, Torla could find no joy in it. She was alone, without a home, without her family. What possible enjoyment could she get from life in that situation?

She was startled out of her thoughts by the sound of another wolf approaching, skipping on the rocks. Torla turned her head, a faint hope grasping at her heart that it was someone she knew. But as she noticed the other female's pelt color, her hope was quickly squandered. Torla was the lightest-colored of the Tainn family. There were no starkly white wolves amongst the siblings. Just her, with her pale, dusty brown coat.

Torla offered the stranger a woof of greeting. Though she had originally came to this place with the intention of being alone, she also was glad for a little company at the same time. Maybe the pale female would know where her siblings were. A small hope, but hope all the same.

Hues of Blue - Silence - Jan 24, 2012

My bad! I thought I had replied to this days ago!

The bank was cold beneath her paws, soft clouds of snow crunched beneath her paws as she stretched her front legs forwards and arched her back as she allowed her muscles beneath her winter belt to stretch and awaken. The cold still clung to her body, but with each movement she made her blood began to warm up and pump around her small body; she was certain she’d be warm soon.
A coral tongue snaked from her mouth and swept across the fuzz of her muzzle; her throat was dry, she needed a drink. She took a sideways glance back down to the rock she had slept up but decided against the mission to get a drink- she’d move further up for her morning refreshment.

Silence righted herself to stand tall, well, stand and was about to move off before a soft whisper carried upon the wind and to her delicate ears. The white peaks twitched as she tried to place the voice; it wasn’t one she had heard before. The small female took a glance over her shoulder then, her honey eyes began to scan the area around her looking for the source of the voice, but she saw no one. Perhaps she had imagined it? Or it was the wind playing tricks on her… Nope, from the far side her gaze landed on a dust coloured wolf. It was a face she’d never seen before.

Her paws danced her to face the other as the greeting reached her. She seemed friendly enough so one could never be too careful. Her nose twitched as she searched the air for the scent from the other, but it was too faint in the wind to stir anything up in her mind. She wasn’t familier.
In return, Silence offered her own yap in return; though unable to talk she could make the odd sound, a whine, a growl, a yip… she couldn’t howl or woof, but the smaller sounds were possible. Still, she’d much rather have been able to talk then squeak.
To accompany the sound, she offered a warm smile and a dip of her head in greeting.
