What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Daesamar - Dec 05, 2017 Set late at night, Anyone’s welcome!
The loud , rushing continuous roar, that's what the young wolf was following as he crept through the underbrush. The youth had been traveling for quite some time now, it had turned from trying to find his way back home, to simply trying to find food. Daesamar’s muzzle pushed aside the thick ferns as he forced his way through them, gazing at the falls before him. Water cascading across the slopes and crashing onto the rocks and sticks that the broken moonlight illuminated through the forest’s canopy. The pup took a confident step forward, his awkward growth and rapidly growing body no longer felt clumsy and as unwieldy as it had mere months ago. His sharp, silver gaze shining in the dull light gazed onto the water. Very slowly, Daesamar approached the edge, sniffing the air as he dipped his snout into the cool water, lapping eagly to quench his growing thirst. A soft shudder ran through the canine as the cold sensation coursed through his body, a sudden chill filled the wolf’s body. “Ah….” He said to himself, pausing as he caught sight of his distorted reflection within the rippling surface. A quiet laugh escaped as Daesamar stretched his jaw, his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth as he watched his mirror image copy the gesture, distracted by this brief relief, the wolf’s scrawny form hadn’t phased him yet, though hunting had been hard and scarce, he wasn’t worried just yet about where his next meal would come from. Instead, Daesamar changed gestured, shaking his head back and forth as his tongue flopped side to side. RE: What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Hawthorne - Dec 05, 2017 Hawthorne had taken up night patrols just like she had talked about with Askan. Sometimes she stayed just within the borders and other times - like tonight - she strayed outside of them. She didn't go very far at night though for she knew she needed to be back in the den before the sun came up. Otherwise, Askan would likely take her right off the nighttime patrols. When the scent of a stranger caught her attention she did what she imagined her leaders would do. Puffed out and chest and lifted her head and tail. She wanted to look strong and confident. The last thing Hawthorne wanted was to make the Edge wolves seem like a weak bunch. Her pace quickened until she got close enough to spot the large figure. "Hey!" She barked out towards him. This was what Askan and Reyes did, right? Just kind barge into things head on. "What do ya think your doin'?" He didn't really seem like a threat but she still wanted to stick her nose into their business. RE: What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Daesamar - Dec 05, 2017 Tag for @Hawthorne !
Daesamar had been making strange faces into the water with his tongue hanging out when the sudden bark startled the large figurer. Leaping forward instinctively, there was a splash, shortly followed by a yelp as the wolf surfaced, water shedding through his thick coat as silver eyes turned toward the speaker. The black wolf looked Hawthorne over slowly as he scrambled to get out of the water. “Nuthing.” He said, his tongue felt weird, a sharp metallic taste flooded his mouth. A confused look overtook the pup, it was blood, that he was sure of, familier with the taste from the still warm prey he had caught in the past, but this time, he grew worried as he realized something. It was his own blood he was tasting. “Ow…” He groaned, the soaked wolf gave his pelt a good shake to dislodge the water the chilly air still cut him like a knife, leaching the warmth from him. “Not Mucth.”{b} He said, speaking slowly and doing his best to enunciate each word around his lightly nicked tongue {b}“Whath about you?” he asked. Daesamar’s head tilted toward the side, his crooked right ear flicking as he settled down onto his haunches, it had been awhile since the young wolf had encountered another of his kind, his body shivering slightly as it tried to warm up his still wet fur “DO youth always do thath?” RE: What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Hawthorne - Dec 05, 2017 Orange eyes narrowed at the larger kid. "Looks like you're doing something." Even Plant Boy (@Sachiel) gave better answers than that! Not that his answers were ever bad in the first place. Plant Boy was pretty informative with her. Maybe that was just because she clung to his side most of the time - or was at least within barking distance. He spoke weird and her head threatened to tilt. But no! She had to look strong! Hawthorne needed to look like her superiors when they weren't here to do it. They were likely sleeping right now anyway. Which mean she really needed to be on guard. "Always do what?" She said with a tad bit of snark. In her mind, she wasn't really doing anything out of the blue. So if he meant always lived her life than yeah, she did. RE: What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Sachiel - Dec 05, 2017 a wild sachiel appears
[dohtml]Occasionally the boy accompanied Pumpkin Eyes on her nights patrols. Other times he would venture on his own, masked by the cover of darkness. Despite spending most of his time with the greyscale girl, he always didn’t want to smother her. Especially since he was used to spending time on his own and enjoyed it. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t opposed to following her, his tawny body tucking behind trees and flattening against the ground whenever her ears twitched. Getting caught wasn’t an option. He needed to get better at being sneaky and this was the best method… His spying was cut short as he caught scent of another wolf—one close to their own age. His brows immediately narrowed as his nostrils flared, his oversized paws thudding along the ground as he padded toward Pumpkin Eyes and the strange. You gonna answer her? He asked as he sidled up beside the grey girl, a single brow cocked at the dark stranger. What was with all the lone cubs wandering around the Lore? RE: What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Daesamar - Dec 05, 2017 @Hawthorne and @Sachiel Daesamar was momentarily distracted by coppery taste in his mouth, as Hawthorne continued to integrate him, he couldn’t help it. Curious to just how bad the damage was, the young wolf stuck his tongue out, a small nick, a thin trickle of blood was visible as he went crossed eyed, tilted his head this way and that way, trying to see it before giving up. The black and silver wolf’s head turned toward the new voice, his tongue still poking out the corner of his mouth before he quickly pulled it in, not wishing to be rude. “I was just…..” he paused, well, he was kinda stumped on that one. Daesamar tended to act over thinking and he wasn’t sure how to describe what he was doing. It sounded a bit silly to tell them that he bad been making faces at the water, even though it was the truth. Glancing between the water and the other two wolves, his nose twitching as he caught the similar scents lingering on their pelts. “I’m not sure really…” he confessed, turning to look at the water “It’s just kinda nice here, and the water helped with my thirst.” RE: What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Hawthorne - Dec 05, 2017 Sachiel showed up in almost the most timely manner. His question causing her eyes to further narrow on the stranger. He was rude and seemed to be lacking manners. It seemed like he couldn't give a clear answer and when he did it was less than pleasing. She bumped her tawny companion gently before taking a few bold steps closer. "It is really pretty, isn't it?" She chided looking at Plant Boy for a brief moment. "Think that's why we set up home not far from here. Nothing wrong with visitors but snoopers aren't entirely welcomed." She was getting the hang of this Askan and Reyes down. Hawthorne imagined that they would be impressed if they saw her. Maybe she'd get more than an "Yeah, you did okay kid." "Even if you're just thirsty." There was water in other places. Not to mention it seemed a little late for someone (someone who wasn't Plant Boy or Pumpkin Eyes) to just be out getting a drink. RE: What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Sachiel - Dec 05, 2017 [dohtml] The strange boy fumbled over his words, not really making any sense or giving any proper answers. Just kinda nice here? He snorted. Sure, anywhere with water was just kinda nice, but why had the ebony cub wandered so close to where the Edge wolves settled? Had he not noticed the array of scents and heavily marked borders? His mismatched gaze met Pumpkin Eyes’ for a brief moment before they flitted back to the stranger, his brows still pinched in a sharp V. His partner in crime’s unusual sassiness caused an amused smirk to grace his creamy features, his black-tipped tail flicking behind him. His thoughts mirrored his partner in crime’s—there were plenty of other places to get a drink. Don’t you have a home, he started as he took several steps forward, his shoulder bumping against Pumpkin Eyes’ once more, or somewhere else to be? His nostrils flared, his ears twitching in irritation. Or are you intending on stickin’ around? But would Askan even want another cub to look after? RE: What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Daesamar - Dec 06, 2017 @Hawthorne and @Sachiel The dark furred pup groaned inwardly, steadily becoming more uncomfortable with the decline in the conversation. Far out of his depth here, he fumbled with what he could say. Starting to wish that he had found a different place to drink from, instead of floundering blindly in what became increasingly more evident as territory far too close to the local pack’s boundaries for anyone’s liking. “It was a brief respite.” He said, his own crooked ear flicking as he glanced between the two, his silver gaze blinking slowly. He turned toward Hawthorne first, to answer her questions. “ I apologize.” Daesamar said quietly, trying to dig his way OUT of the hole he seemed to have found himself in. “I don’t.” He said toward the male pup, before gesturing, roughly to where he thought the mountain laid before confessing “I got lost, and then more curious about what laid out this way, Intruding now anyone’s borders hadn’t been my intention.” He paused for a moment, sneezing as his soaked fur finally started to dry, before giving his head a shake “Sticking around hadn’t been apart of my plan unless a reason to came up.” RE: What you seen in the Reflection's what you get - Hawthorne - Dec 07, 2017 Her ego was pretty big right now. Her and Plant Boy made one hell of a pair. No way this kid was gonna be able to mess with the Edge wolves! In all honesty, she couldn't wait to tell @Askan and @Reyes about this. That was until Plant Boy asked if this kid planned on sticking around. She really hoped not. It would have been weird and awkward having to share her friends with someone she was kind of shoving around. Her face crinkled for a brief moment. Relief washed over her as the large kid admitted he hadn't planned on sticking around. "Dandy!" She announced as pumpkin eyes stayed locked on the dark kid. Maybe she would have liked him had she not found him so close to home. "We can give ya some directions to get out of this place." Her shoulders rolled. She had adventure almost this whole area by now. Her and Plant Boy had some adventures a good bit outside of it too. |
