RE: the parasite's host never even knows - Askan - Dec 21, 2017

Though he held nothing against the yearling-yet, if ever- he wasn't inclined to take his words as gospel. When he'd been Cancer's age he had thought he was anything but stupid, didn't mean he was right though. Back then he'd said and done a lot of silly things, things he regretted to this day. He wasn't going to say as such though, even Askan had the tact to realise it wasn't the best of moves.

So instead he nodded, seemingly pleased with his response."Good."

The Edge Lord did indeed have things he'd rather be doing as of then but...Cancer was still a hard read. What did he want? If it was as simple as being alone then Askan could oblige him, he wasn't his nanny after all, or was he going to coddle him or anyone else here. Slowing to a stop, Askan looked ahead and pointed with his snout.

"Mmm."He acknowledged."Keep going that way, you'll find a broken tree by some rocks. If they haven't been eaten then your birds will be there. See you around."

Broken tree, rocks; yeah, he was sure it wouldn't be a problem. He didn't think so far ahead as to what he would do if his birds had been taken, but the answer was probably take out his frustration on those late-migration geese.

"Yeah, later," he chuffed, trotting off ahead without pause for their separation. It wasn't like time with anyone in a pack was a rare commodity. That's one of the many reasons why he disliked the situation of belonging somewhere. Well, belonging only for lack of a better word.

A flick of his tail was the last to be seen of him as he disappeared, off to track down his ptarmigan corpses.
