we crawl out of our cages - Lorcan - Jan 04, 2018 [dohtml] All welcome! Today was the day.[/dohtml] RE: we crawl out of our cages - Romanov - Jan 04, 2018 [dohtml] It was needless to say that Romanov had kept to himself the past few weeks. Often times merely showing his respect to @Sven and @Ravenna before slinking off to do his own things. This didn't mean he was oblivious to the changes, though. New scents had shown up and his nose wrinkled with them. He didn't speak against them despite this. If his superiors trusted them then Romanov would try to also. They needed more bodies in the Ridge anyway - even if he didn't want to admit it. Yet the sound of one of the new scents drew him in. Excited barks and growls reaching the piebald boy's ears. He crept carefully through the snow not content on being caught yet. He wanted to see just what the stranger was doing. Amber eyes narrowing the slightest bit as he lingered near a bare willow tree. Childish was the only word to describe the scene. "What are you doing?" A pale brow raised with the intent of learning more.
RE: we crawl out of our cages - Lorcan - Jan 04, 2018 [dohtml] The voice caught Lorcan off guard. Frantically rolling and squirming in the deep snow, the agouti male suddenly froze and lifted his head up to peer curiously over the small mounds that had formed around him. Russet ears perked up with interest as he immediately spotted the dark figure of a boy standing nearby a bare willow tree. Golden eyes trailed up towards his face, and lingered on the white patch of fur that covered his right eye for a moment before he finally answered.[/dohtml] RE: we crawl out of our cages - Romanov - Jan 04, 2018 [dohtml] The answer didn't settle his brow. Freedom? Willow Ridge didn't have any prisoners from his understanding. Romanov was ready to ask for an explanation but then one followed. Along with a name. "What was wrong with you?" He asked with a hint of something softer breaking through. He could have asked Ravenna but the Archer boy wanted to hear it right from this male's mouth. The scars on his face were noticeable but didn't faze the child. One of his cousins was cloaked in them from a time outside of the Ridge. "Yes. Romanov Archer. Who told you?" It certainly hadn't been Romanov himself. Perhaps it had been Ravenna if she was the one healing him. Or maybe even his sister had made herself known to Lorcan. It wasn't the biggest secret that the Archer boy's littermate could chat away.
RE: we crawl out of our cages - Lorcan - Jan 04, 2018 [dohtml] Lorcan could sense that the boy wasn’t too impressed with his playful antics. The judgemental arch of his single pale brow did not soften, neither did his curious stare. That was, not until Lorcan mentioned that he had been recovering inside the pack infirmary. The male’s russet ears pressed back, feeling a little embarrassed about his answer. “Hunger and exhaustion mostly. Plus I hurt my ribs when I collapsed at the borders…” His golden gaze flitted awkwardly to his paws for a heartbeat before they returned to meet the boy’s bright amber eyes. He didn’t bother to mention the wounds to his face. They were surely obvious. “…but I’m feeling much better now.” He added, flashing the young wolf a reassuring smile.[/dohtml] Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - Jan 04, 2018 There is a deer that was killed by a lynx nearby. +10 Health RE: we crawl out of our cages - Romanov - Jan 06, 2018 "I'm figurin' Ravenna took care of you? She's pretty good at what she does." The faint traces of a smile breaking the younger boy's features. He was warming up now. The childish man wasn't so bad and maybe he might even be good. Things around here had been so much of grown-ups doing work and somber events that the Archer had almost forgotten that he - the child - should be enjoying himself. Granted that was hard when his family seemed to be like a revolving door. Romanov couldn't fight back the snort and smirk that followed at the confirmation it had been his sister. "Knew it." There was no surprise that his sister had put her nose into others business and spread the word about Willow Ridge along with names. "Sorry 'bout her. She probably talked your ear off while you were in the infirmary, huh?" RE: we crawl out of our cages - Lorcan - Jan 06, 2018 [dohtml] As Lorcan noticed the small smile that began to tug at the corners of the young boy’s lips, his own expression began to soften. Nodding his head gently in agreement, the male made a soft hum with his mouth. Ravenna certainly had taken good care of him and it was due to her plant knowledge and medical expertise that he had been able to recover as quickly as he had. “She is. I should like to learn from her one day, add to my own knowledge.” Lorcan said with a smile. When that was exactly, the newcomer did not know. The lead female was surely busy most of the time with all of her duties to attend to.[/dohtml] RE: we crawl out of our cages - Romanov - Jan 06, 2018 "..add to my own knowledge." "You a healer too then or just looking to learn?" Romanov couldn't help himself from prodding a bit and perhaps that made him no better than his chattery sister. He wanted to learn, though. While he was more interested in past events it was also important to keep up with current events. This new male, Lorcan, was certainly current. His tail gave a few sweeps before settling again. "I usually don't go in there mentioning that's kind of where the sick should be." His shoulders shrugged as he looked to Lorcan. "I'm not really into catching any sickness." It was a bit of a joke. Perhaps a stale one but Romanov also hadn't made many jokes before. Comedy just simply wasn't the Archer's forte. "Sunbathe on the stones but that's a bit hard now that the cold is here." He glanced up towards the sky, wondering if the sun might ever come out in full force again. "There's a field down south of here too that's pretty fun to poke around in sometimes. I don't really leave home that often, though." Romanov admitted easily. Perhaps at his age, he should have been pushing his boundaries but the boy had been born with a strong sense of good and bad in him. Not to mention he didn't want to wind up lost or get into trouble with someone else so far from home. "I like stories too. Telling them and hearing them." RE: we crawl out of our cages - Lorcan - Jan 06, 2018 [dohtml] Lorcan didn’t mind the boy’s curiosity at all. Actually, he was rather fond of it, especially in pups. It hinted that they had an active mind and lust to learn, which the adult admired and would actively encourage more of. “I served as a healer in two of my previous packs.” He confirmed with a smile that hinted at his pride. He had worked hard for the title and wasn’t shy to admit it. “But Ravenna could still show me a thing or two. The plants tend to change depending where you are, so there’s always something new to learn about.” Lorcan explained with another shrug.[/dohtml] |
