RE: I know you're not fine when you say you're okay - Nineva - Mar 06, 2018

That seemed to satisfy him. At the least, he appeared a lot better off than she had found him. She quirked a brow as he rose and beamed at her, the gloom gone just like that. Had something she'd said actually struck a chord, or was he really this easy going? In a way, she envied him. Nineva was still struggling to learn to step over concerns rather than let them dog her tirelessly.

Yes, Elias had his own strength. It was just a different breed entirely from her own.

Then he looked at her like that, all sunny and doting, the way... well, the way Tomen used to. Like she was the world. She would have blushed miserably had she any heat left in her veins, embarrassed of such amiable affection that once used to be so commonplace in her life. Clearly oblivious to her internal plight, he took things a step further and planted something of a kiss on her cheek.

Her reaction involved little thought. Her jaws snapped at his, with half a mind to box his muzzle, but luckily she thought better of it as the shock quickly wore off. Her blue eye stared him down, and she took a moment to confirm with herself that this was not Tomen, not Pip, not any of the Hollow's wolves. It was Elias, and he deserved to be treated as his own wolf, instead of shadowed by ghosts he couldn't know existed.

Nineva contemplated a moment, then reached forward and licked his crown, right between his eyes. Then she stepped away again, determined this time to leave.

"Take care."
