a man is just a man. - Reyes - Mar 03, 2018

@Askan @Remington @Phoenix @Cancer @Seven @Idris @Sachiel @Hawthorne
Pack meeting!  First round ends on March 13th or after everyone posts.  This is a mandatory meeting.  Set in the early evening.  Fair skies.  6F.

It exhausted him, thinking about the spring. But here they were, and with a pack full of frickin' yearlings, no less - Remington was the only grown ass adult. She had have some sense, though. She didn't do anything stupid last year in Wild Rye Fields. But he wasn't going to take any chances. He say the fallout in Hearthwood River with Lachesis and Aleksei and Inna - maybe no one here was blood, but still. He didn't need the damn drama.

So as dusk settled over the Shallow's Edge, Reyes tipped his head up and called his pack in. Askan was the exception to this, he supposed. He'd come if he wanted. Or not. But his voice made it clear that no one else was given such an option. "Spring is here, so there's some changes afoot."

RE: a man is just a man. - Phoenix - Mar 04, 2018

i crashed my car into the bridge, i watched, i let it burn
Phoenix Avalon

It was unnusual for Phoenix to be the first to arrive anywhere but she supposed if she hadn't already been on her way back towards the den with the setting sun. She greeted Reyes with a quick, respectful bump of her snout to his chin before moving off to settle herself within range, leaving enough space between them for @Askan when he finally arrived. She hadn't entirely wrapped her head around spring last year, the smell in the air enough to send her running from the Rye fields in search of space despite the terrible sickness never quite catching hold of her. Did that mean this year would be different?

RE: a man is just a man. - Askan - Mar 04, 2018

Leader dem 1/3
[dohtml]

And so it began. Though he would never admit it, Askan had been dreading this season and the awful, nose aching smell that came with it. Yes yes, he knew no one was at fault here, that nature did what it wanted but that still didn't stop him from being grumpy and irritable, just as he had been the year before, and the one before that. He supposed it wasn't so bad, Remington was the only one creating a stink, but that was enough to make him blanch in disgust.

It was disgusting, nauseating and all Askan really wanted to do these days was spend time with his mate. You know, the one who didn't smell bad and was handsome to boot, scars and all.

Askan was lounging upon his throne, rock, whatever you want to call it, when Reyes' howl reached his ears. It wasn't for him, he could tell that as much but he still felt the itch to heed his call. It wasn't because Askan wanted to shove his nose in all of the Shallow's affairs it was more...it was a little less tangible than that, he supposed. With a huff, he pushed himself to his feet and headed over to the meeting spot. To his surprise, Percy was already on the scene...and thank God she didn't reek. He wasn't sure how he would have handled that, the thought alone was weird, slimy almost, so Askan shoved it aside and plonked his ass down on the ground right next to his mate and co-leader.

He had no affectionate greetings, not even a wag of his tail or a chuff. Just a grunt as he squared his shoulders and made no effort to look as though he hadn't woken up on the wrong side of the den this morning. At the very least, the view wasn't so bad and perhaps once this was done he could drag Reyes to train somewhere quiet and out of sight. Maybe that would help get rid of the tension mounting in his muscles and the achy throb at the back of his head.

RE: a man is just a man. - Idris - Mar 05, 2018

[dohtml]

Do you know that feeling you get when everyone's watching you? That strange euphoric feeling of eyes physically walking over the length of your fur and combing through each strand like pests? That was precisely the kind of itching feeling that he got as soon as he was summoned and it stayed that way all the way to when he breached the surface of the meeting that was called. Of course, he was a little surprised to see that it wasn't Askan who had called but it was a dark male. There was something afoot and by the judge of things, and the confusion he felt if only because he didn't understand, Idris swallowed and gave Reyes (and Askan) a smile, before relocating somewhere nearby but didn't move to crowd.

RE: a man is just a man. - Seven - Mar 05, 2018

[dohtml]

A meeting? Oh no, oh no… he couldn’t be late. While Seven was no longer the newest member in the Edge he still didn’t want to set a bad example. Make his cousin doubt his abilities and kick him out. Seven also worried that others looked at hime like he was useless, and that Askan was just doing him a favour by allowing him to stay in the shallows. Which was why the peppered yearling tried to do as much as he could when it came to patrolling and hunting. He didn’t want to be viewed as invaluable. A worried frown had been etched into his dark features as he moved quickly through the forest. He’d never really attended a pack meeting before; therefore, he did not know what to expect. Seven would just keep his head down and his mouth shut. He wasn’t looking to cause any drama.

As he arrived the yearling offered both of his leaders a quick nod in greeting before settling down, his muddy gaze sweeping the small group before returning to his paws.

RE: a man is just a man. - Sachiel - Mar 05, 2018

permission given to PP @Hawthorne <3

[dohtml]

The duo had been together, as per usual, when the call sounded through the trees. They had been poking around the moss-covered log bridge at the southern edge of the shallows when Reyes’ voice beckoned them forward, earning a perplexed expression from the tawny boy. He glanced over at his greyscale friend—did she know why they were being summoned? Giving her a soft shrug he shuffled over the bridge and loped forward, his chin over his shoulder as he called out to her: C’mon, Pumpkin! We don’ wanna be late! Sachiel could only imagine the glares they’d receive from both Reyes and Askan if they were the last to arrive. Fortunately they hadn’t been too far—Sachiel hoped they were just close enough. Without waiting for her response the agouti streaked through the trees, a blur of green and brown surrounding him as he chased after Reyes’ voice.

His pace slowed as they arrived at the small gathering, his mismatched eyes sweeping around to inspect those who had already gathered. He almost sighed in relief when he realized they weren’t the last to appear. He shot both of his leaders a warm smile before he settled down, his nose pointed toward his grey companion—what was the purpose of this meeting? His lips fell into a soft frown but he dared not ask. Reyes and Askan would be quick to explain the reason; they weren’t the type to beat around the bush.

RE: a man is just a man. - Remington - Mar 05, 2018

And then you get up and get up and get up again

Remi wished for a good fight. A brawl had the possibility to put an end to this. Of course, she'd have to lose, and it would work better with a female. It was too bd Percy and Hawthorne were still on the young side. She kinda wished she'd run into the woman by the stinky water again. She probably would have been obliging. Remi wasn't about to leave pack lands. That was asking for trouble. She might not toy with the idea of actual relief, but it'd be stupid to wander around like a neon sign. Just like last year..

Reyes voice called to the entire Edge, and she thought about ignoring him. It'd just be better for everyone if she stayed in this dank hole till this was over. Askan would surely agree. But, it wasn't him asking for their presence. She did not want a scolding from Reyes. She could hope this meeting wasn't to single her out.

With a sullen groan, she left the coolness of her bed and met the evening sun. Making her way she noticed she was not last, and it slightly helped her nerves ebb. So despite being the only one inflicted she carried herself as if nothing was out of the ordinary, and dipped her head to both dark leaders. There was no spot by Phoenix, but even if there had been she wouldn't have taken it. Instead, she stuck the other younger ones, taking a little bit of a back seat. Hoping this would be one quick meeting.

RE: a man is just a man. - Hawthorne - Mar 06, 2018

[dohtml]

She quickly trailed after Plant Boy, tail waving eagerly behind her. Unlike some of the other pack wolves she was rather excited for the call Reyes had sent out. Snow and slush kicked up and dirtied her underside and legs - further darkening the half peppered girl.

As they broke onto the scene Hawthorne was quick to give a wide grin to both of the male superiors. She was fond of both of them and any reason to see the duo was a good one. Her rear settled down on the earth as she leaned into Plant Boy. Don't look so glum. She whispered just for him before her orange gaze examined the crowd again.

The young girl gave a quick grin to @Remington despite them not being awfully close. The older female had still been there through thick and thin, obviously a good wolf for the Edge. Any others would receive a small nod if she made eye contact with them. Her attention fell right back to her superiors, though. She was eagerly awaiting to hear what this was about.

RE: a man is just a man. - Lenka - Mar 09, 2018

sorry guys, arm was a little more immobile during the tattoo than I expected

Lenka was balancing on the log that crossed the stream when the call came, causing the girl to nearly fall into the water. She quickly jumped off the beam and jogged toward the meeting, excitement and nervousness filling her gut. The command to gather had come from someone who was clearly not Askan, but obviously held the authority to order them to come.

The Artemieva hadn't met her other packages yet, and shame on her, but they would be here now. Hopefully she would learn a little more of how the pack ran things as well.

When she arrived there were already quite a few wolves, but she didn't feel as if they had started yet. She quietly slipped in and nodded a greeting to her alpha and offered a smile to the girl who had found her at the borders the day she'd joined. Lenka then turned her eyes to the man who had called the meeting, sitting patiently while she waited for him to speak.

RE: a man is just a man. - Pietro - Mar 13, 2018

Pete was one of, if not the last wolf there. Wasn’t the best way to present yourself to your new packmates, but he couldn’t help it. He had been busy building up his medicine den, and had been a little preoccupied. But he was there now, and that was all that really mattered, wasn’t it?

The shadowy wolf was speckled with dried herbs as he approached, taking a seat next to the back of the clearing they were meeting with. God, was everyone in this pack bigger than he was? Because it certainly seemed that way.

None of them particularly caught his eye like the handsome teen at the river, either, but they seemed mostly in good health. That was nice.

Silver eyes looked up toward his alphas, a small smile on his lips. He hoped he wasn’t too late.
