Fall upon your knees, sing - Attica - Mar 04, 2018

you got the power and control
Attica Grace Archer

The world had suddenly become a very, very scary place with the warming of the weather. Kyna was even more assertive than ever and while the girl was perfectly happy to take it, the other women becoming equally as prickly was more than she could bare. It seemed she wasn't the only one to be leaving, following @Elias's scent down the mountain seemed the safest course of action but when he turned to the north, Attica opted to continue strolling to the west, out onto the rise.

The air was so much clearer down here too. It was only once she threw herself into a snow bank and allowed herself to actually breathe, the action chasing some of the tension from her shoulders that she noticed it, though she was clueless as to what it might signal. The tightness in her belly that she had put down to a growing sense of anxiety seemed to hold on though, an itch between her shoulder scratched with a rear leg until she realised that she couldn't possibly reach it on her own.

A heavy huff left her lips then, there was only one course of action wasn't there then? She threw her weight to the side, wriggling her spine along the snow covered ground, a low satisfied growl finally leaving her chest when the wayward itch was dealt with. At least she wasn't smelling funny, that she knew of... yet.

She certainly smelled differently to her brother. If pheromones were flowers, the women of the Ridge carried extravagant bouquets, while Attica merely trailed small petals as she traveled. Still, it was noticeable, and hit him like a stone wall. Amongst all there had been to consider, it had not yet crossed his mind that Attica was of-age this season. It was likely due to her distance, not just physically. Since that unpleasant encounter with the Heights wolves, Sven had tried not to think of the canyon between himself and the sister he had raised.

Now, however, she was right there in front of him, rolling about in the field, dangerously alone, and whatever fight they were or weren't having didn't even matter at that point. Sven raced up to the yearling, and promptly began kicking and shoveling snow onto her as though burying her from the Spring fevered world. Yeah, she definitely needed to cool down, because there was no damn way he was ready to be an uncle.

what are you doin’ to my head?
Attica Grace Archer

The sound of approaching paws was muffled by the scrape of her head against the snow, and she still thought herself completely alone until a wall of snow came flying in her direction. It wasn't so bad where it struck her chest and stomach but when it struck her open mouth, falling straight to the back of her throat she coughed harshly, rolling to her stomach and quickly standing up to try and dislodge the small ball of snow before she choked. Another cough and the temperature of her breath was enough to dislodge the ball of ice by melting it, the cool sensation dripping across her tongue as her mind raced to catch up with what had just happened.

She had been perfectly happy, minding her own business, and then she saw him and waves of love and anxiety and guilt crashed over her in waves. "What the hell @Sven!" She tried to sound cross but she couldn't stop the waving of her tail in spite of all that had passed between them, or the way her body moved to crash into his own with none of the teeth or spit from their last encounter. She missed her home, and the wolves that lived there, she had just needed some time to realise it.

Sven had expected not just a bit, but a lot more fire from her when she'd realized it was him dousing her in waves of fluffy flakes. Instead, she surprised him back, and it was easy to let her tackle floor him like he used to when she was a kid. Way easy, she was a shit ton bigger and stronger than he remembered.

"Me? You're the one rubbin' your stink everywhere like you want to get swarmed," he quiped back, but without venom in his tone; it wasn't meant to be an insult. He would insist until his last breath that Attica surely didn't know what she was risking out here. Even if she'd hurt him greatly the last time they met, his sister was not a slut. She was just... naive. Innocent.

The scent of a large band of coyotes is on the breeze.
