RE: Oh, your eyes, they show it all - Sahalie - Mar 31, 2018

careless whisper, as promised. m for a little uuuh...suggestive

Saying the name outloud made it permanent and real. It didn't sound like her name, quite yet, because it was so new and alien to her, but it had rhythm to it that brought out a melody she had never realized was in her first name at all. Sahalie Leigh. It was like a short little tune, the un-perfected howl of a new cub, and it was her name now. A new name, a new family, and a new hope that things could get better—actually better, not just functional better. But just like improving her own life, it would take work to make this name fit her, to feel comfortable hearing it wrapped around her. "Sahalie Leigh," she muttered to herself, trying it out. She looked up at her best friend and grinned.

"Who said my pace was slow?" she giggled, getting up and beginning to turn away from him with a wink. Inside, though, she was still very nervous about what was about to happen. The only relief she could find was in remembering a few of her many conversations with Kyna. It was hard to be scared when she inexplicably remembered being little girls blushing like a hot spring, watching shrieking birds doing something they didn't fully understand. And Kyna had said it didn't hurt. She said that a puppy was kind of whole the point.

And it all finally was starting to make sense.
