Spring breeding season was coming to a close, however, and Kyna could only hope this meant that peace would fall again. That they’d be able to get back to pack duties, handling the small hoard of mountain wolves. Figure out what was going on with Treyah, figure out where things with her mother stood. He had spent too long away from both his pack and his mate—much longer than he had anticipated. For the first time in his life Greer had no intentions of descending from the mountain and venturing into the neighbouring territories. He knew he needed to pay his younger sister a visit—especially after what Elias had told him—but that could wait. The shadow wanted everything to return to normal first. Or as normal as it could get. He did not hesitate to answer the call, his long legs maneuvering over the rugged terrain with ease. His mate, however, had been quicker than him. She had already greeted the silver-dusted Archer, her posture dripping with dominance. He sidled up beside her, his mercury gaze fixated on his niece. Tilly, he greeted, his brows pinched tight with concern. His older sister’s scent was absent from her pelt; had she not settled with Morganna in the Scowle? Here why? He asked, getting straight to the point. If Morganna had not sent the girl why had she climbed the mountain? Surely it wasn’t just for a visit with her uncle… |
