[bwp] but the end's already here - Sachiel - Apr 16, 2018 The agouti His ears remained cupped forward as his tail flicked absently behind him. He wasn’t going to let a stranger—or a packmate—sneak up on him. If he couldn’t pay attention to his surroundings at nearly a year old then what good was he? A crooked, amused smile rolled onto his pale maw as he continued along the river, heading south into the lush forest. He had no intentions of returning to the Edge until the sun began to fall below the horizon. Sachiel didn’t mind having some time to himself, away from the shallows (and the wolves within). They were his family—more so than his own parents—but the newly dubbed Selwyn enjoyed being on his own, too. It gave him more time to focus on the colours, as everything was so jumbled within the pack territory. Shades of red, orange, and vibrant yellow; it was all loud and go! go! go! The forest beyond was softer; brilliant shades of emerald and cerulean. There was a new member within their ranks—another cub. Well, almost yearling, but she followed Cancer around like a love-sick puppy so, to Sachiel, she was as good as a cub. He wondered what his peppered friend thought of the newcomer and what type of shenanigans she was getting herself into while he trailed the rush south… RE: but the end's already here - Matheo - Apr 16, 2018 [dohtml] Theo had ended his visit with Hawthorne with every intention of going back home to Driftwood Surge. He hadn’t exactly answered the questions he’d traveled down south with, no, but he had felt a lot better after seeing a friend instead of his sister. Being happy was much easier than being upset – he’d try to remember that in the future. But it had been late when he had finished the meeting, so he decided to camp overnight. The next day was met with rain…and here he was, and it was still raining. The young wolf gave a derisive snort as he squinted up at the clouds miserably. He never thought he could get tired of the water, but here he was… Shaking out his coat (uselessly), Theo dragged himself out of the leafy cover and began to walk towards the falls again, keen on getting himself a drink before trying to brave the mud and bog to get back home. Instead, he found another wolf. Not Hawthorne…but he kind of smelled like Hawthorne. Mathéo’s tail wagged hopefully. “Hello?” he called to the other boy. They looked to be the same age. “Are you from around here?” Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - Apr 16, 2018 There is a deer carcass being picked over by three coyotes. They spot you and become territorial of their kill. RE: but the end's already here - Hawthorne - Apr 16, 2018 [dohtml] She huffed as she followed her friend's trail. Askan had told her to group up when leaving the Shallows and she'd be damned if Sachiel didn't also have to do the same thing. So what would she do? Force her presence into his life per usual. Wasn't she just the most charming wolf? Hawthorne was about ready to bark at her tawny friend when the voice of another caught her attention. Matheo? She called out a bit dumbfounded. Before she could figure out what he was doing still hanging around (not that she minded...his company was just as good as anyone) something else caught her off guard. It was the sound of something familiar and unfamiliar all at once. The Selwyn was pretty sure she had sounded that pissy once but these creatures...they weren't supposed to. Right? Hesitantly her tail and hackles raised. What the hell had the male duo done to them? It must have been bad if they planned on sticking around and getting all territorial. Oh heck, Askan had been right hadn't he? RE: but the end's already here - Sachiel - Apr 17, 2018 @Hawthorne @Matheo [dohtml] The familiar scent made his nose twitch; he seemed to be developing a habit of bumping into the Driftwood wolves. But so far from their territory… had something happened within their borders that was driving them south? It was possible that the stranger was a scout, or a friend. The Surge wolves were rather chummy with the Edge; a result of the Once more his words were hindered as a strange sound ripped through the air. An angry, pissed off sound. He took a cautious step toward his pumpkin-eyed friend, his hackles rising as the large of the three creatures took a bold step in their direction. Uh, he started, his worried gaze flicking between his two age-mates, y’think we should try chasin’ them off? There were three of them but there were also three of the mangy mutts. Sachiel had never encountered one before; he did not know what to expect. RE: [bwp] but the end's already here - Matheo - May 14, 2018 [dohtml] The boy with two different eyes never even had a chance to answer him. Frankly, it all happened so fast, Mathéo wasn’t exactly certain of the order – Hawthorne seemed to appear out of nowhere at the same time as a trio of coyotes. How had he not noticed them?? They were downwind, yes, but there were three of them – and a kill. Probably one they worked hard for, and were quite hungry, given the way they were growling like that. It made his skin crawl. The young wolf rolled his ears back, eyes wide with alarm. “I….I don’t know. They got a kill, there. I’m not sure how hard they’ll fight to keep it.” Frankly, the young Tainn wasn’t sure if it was a fight worth having. It wasn’t as if any amongst the trio were short on meals. @Hawthorne -- Sorry that I am the slowest. x __ x
