Army of two. - Garmir - Apr 19, 2018

OOC: April 14-15th night.
@Dread
@Tyne

[dohtml]

Garmir moved ahead amidst the dark towering trees of the wildwood, his ears standing erect and moving around in search of sounds. His poison green eyes, illuminated by the moon in the sky shined brightly as he surveyed the darkness around him. Now with the snow almost gone, Garmir's darker, earthly colored pelt helped him to blend into the surroundings.

He wasn't alone. There was also shadow moving in the darkness, almost invisible in the dead of night that embraced them both. The two were some distance apart from one another, but still withing hearing distance. Garmir asked a question out loud from his leader. "Should we howl? Might attract those damn coyotes on us though." The scarred wolf could hardly believe he had to worry about lesser canines hearing his howl. World was thruly upside down when Coyotes were now roaming and terrorizing the land in groups.

Retracing @Nauja 's trail had not been easy in the darkness but the two wolves had made good progress through the evening and the night. Garmir's earlier fear that Dread might somehow slow him down were clearly not warranted, but Still there was no sign of Tyne and no real scent to follow further.

RE: Army of two. - Dread - Apr 23, 2018

For the most part, the duo had stayed silent as they moved along the faint trail, Tenebrae having kept up a lumbering trot as his firey eyes swept ahead of him. At the slightest movement, they would snap towards it, part of him hoping it would be the man Garmir and he had been sent out to find but another hoping it was a lone coyote. Even one would make a good warning for the others...

His ears flicked towards Garmir’s voice as he spoke, wondering if they should howl in order to gain Tyne’s attention. It would make things easier but Garmir was right; it might attract the damn coyotes too.

“No, it’d be better not howl. I’d rather not be swarmed by a gang of vermin.” Peeling his lips back in a silent snarl at the thought, Tenebrae only spoke just loud enough for Garmir to hear him. Even if he truly wished to give the smaller canines a fearful reminder why wolves were not to be messed with, there was no knowing how many were truly around. If there was only two or three, perhaps Garmir and he would have the advantage but if they were in a group, no matter how small and weak coyotes were, the numbers would simply overpower them. “It’d be best to keep on the quieter side; hopefully we can find him before they find us.”

And didn’t that make him sick to his stomach. By all rights, they were wolves. Coyotes should be running in fear from him, not making him hide in the shadows like some damned rat.

“We should spread out a little more, might be able to cover some more ground.” Turning slightly towards where Garmir was, Tenebrae felt something was wrong in saying that. Something told him they shouldn’t split apart more but at the same time, the quicker there was three wolves together instead of two, the quicker they could head home.but stay within earshot.

Finishing his orders, Tenebrae moved away somewhat and leant down to sniff the ground, trying to pick up the scent of something in hopes of a lead.

Sorry boutthe wait yall lifes been really hectic lately but ill make this priority! :) @Gamir @Dread

He lost her! How could he loose her? The Kersey man has been frantic from the moment he realized the woman he loved and his unborn children were missing. He wasn't worried at first thinking she had maybe taken a walk or tried to hunt but then as time passed and it became dark it was clear she wasnt coming back. They always slept by one another, one never wandering too far away to not get back. Large creamy limbs trotted along the landscape as his coal nose tried to make out her scent. It was difficult with all the mingled scents of coyotes. His mind wheeled at the thoughts of them attacking her, he shook them away doing his best to stay positive. So he focused on tracking her. His mind was now so preoccupied withthatw task that he missed the signs of the Draw wolves.

Even if Garmir might not had fully appriciated Tanebrae being his leader, he always methodically obeyed hierarchy with little question. As the dark male told him to remain silent and then suggested they should spread out instead - although still remain withing ear shot, the earthen male simply nodded and did as he was commanded, diverting his course little bit to the side as the continued forward, his only reply to dread being; "As you wish... my lead."

As the two separated and Garmir was left alone with his thoughts - while still focusing on the search of course - he wondered why he had such a distaste towards Dread being the leader. Kerberos wasn't exactly better option and Dread did seem to respect Treyah or there might have been more resistance with him being sent on this little adventure of theirs. Did he see Dread as threat to the alpha female? In a way.. he had been constructing profiles of each member of the pack and trying to guess how loyal they might be to the only rightful ruler of Charred ash Draw but did he have a right to make such judgements? Why was he always viewing every pack member as potential enemy to Treyah instead of family or ally. In past, he might have not questioned his behaviour or thoughts, but in this new pack.. was it so nessecery? He should talk to dread afterwards to learn more of him.

Hmmm? There was something ahead. Garmir halted for a moment, scanning the near pitch black darkness that surrounded him, his ears rotating around. The sound was coming from ahead, not from his side where his pack mate was conducting his own search. Were it one of the coyotes or something else, Garmir could not quite tell yet. His fur bristled and his nose wrinkled slightly as he allowed low tuned growl escape his maw..

RE: Army of two. - Dread - May 07, 2018

Instantly, Tenebrae swiveled towards Garmir as he growled, thinking that coyotes were the cause. Maybe a little too quickly. Truth be told, it was somewhat out of concern for the subordinate. But either way, Garmir had noticed something if he was growling.

Carefully making his way towards the other and on high alert, there was a questioning look on his face as he came up to the other’s side. His ears perked as he caught the tail end of the sounds and an underlying scent of something that wasn’t quite coyote. But with the scent of the smaller canines hanging so heavily in the air, he couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was. It could be just the pesky things, drawing closer to investigate them. But there was doubt. There would be more noise, as coyotes were never smart quite smart enough to be so silent.

It could be the man they were looking for and weighing up their options, Tenebrae glanced at Garmir before opening his mouth.

“Tyne?” It was said in a low tone, though hopefully loud enough for just the man to hear and as more a query then anything. If it was him, then hopefully he would hear it and come closer so they could explain what was going on. Surely he was worried for his mate and would find some relief in knowing she was safe with the Draw.

Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - May 07, 2018

The scent of a large band of coyotes is on the breeze.

RE: Army of two. - Tyne - May 07, 2018

A low growl of frustration came from his creamy maw as all he could smell were the coyotes. A large band of them was on the breeze and by how pugent it was Tyne knew they were close. Still he pressed on, not worrying about his own safety, only concerned for the woman he loved and his unborn children.

His large agouti frame moved through the landscape before freezing at the sound of a low growl. His fur bristled at the thought of it being one of the smaller canines. Charcoal audits stood atoo his head on high alert as the sound of another approached. Golden orbs searched the darkness but saw nothing. For a moment there was silence before he heard his name. Tyne did not recognize the voice whatsoever but he could tell it was that of another wolf. Cautiously making his way towards the owner of the voice it was clear the sea wolf was on edge. He stopped once two figures appeared inthe night, both obviously wolves. "Depends on who's askin'." His voice was low to match the others. There was no need to draw the attention of the coyotes. He was wary and gaurded. It was strange for someone to know his name but him not know theirs. He just hoped this was a good encounter and not a bad one. He couldnt afford to stop looking for Nauja.

Garmir had ceased growling by the time Dread came next to him, instead staring into the night and awaiting for character to emerge. A wolf it was, clearly and when Dread asked for Tyne by name, the low tuned response they got was enough for Garmir to tell this was the male they had been seeking for. Not a moment too soon for there was clear presence of coyotes lingering in the air. The forest was starting to stink like it was infested by those little shits.

Perhaps because of this - because he wanted to get going as soon as it was possible - Garmir spoke before Tenebrae could say anything further. He might have not come out as most diplomatic sort.. hell, his words could actually be seen as an ominous threat if taken out of context, but this was his way of saying things. Blunt and straight to the point; "We have your mate. You should come with us."

Garmir noticed on hindsight that he propably should have let his higher up explain the situation and thus, he allowed Dread to take more central role in representing Charred Ash Draw, moving one step behind so that he was half the wolf's lenght behind Dread with his tail remaining far lower than what the dark pelted male's did.

RE: Army of two. - Dread - May 08, 2018

Fuck, if that explanation wouldn’t just make things worse. Fighting back the urge to snap at Garmir for his way of handling it, Tenebrae instead attempted to smooth them over, before things got out of hand. Thankfully, Garmir seemed to quickly realise that maybe the situation could be handled better and stepped back.

What Garmir means is your mate is safe within our pack, Charred Ash Draw.”Tenebrae would have to have a talk with Garmir another time, once they were back in the Draw. The heavy scent of coyotes was becoming dangerously worrying. “She’s fine, my co lead found and is looking after her.” hopefully, those words were less threatening than Garmir’s to Tyne and he'd understand they weren't any danger to either of them.

Golden orbs narrowed as he studied the two males. He waited for a response and was not happy with what he was met with. "We have your mate, you should come with us". His charcoal guard hairs bristled as his ears flattened. They were holding Nauja? His protectiveness ove the mother to be mixed with the presence of the coyotes made it so that he didnt think clearly. A low growl rumbled in his chest as he lowered his head. Golden eyes flicked to the other male as he spoke. He was quick to correct Garmir's statement. It was clear how Garmir stepped back that Dread was of higher rank. Tyne relaxed enough to not come across as agressive anymore. Nauja was safe according to this man so Tyne didnt have a choice. He was going to have to go with them to find out for himself. "Nothing happened to her right?" The Kersey man asked giving a glance to Garmir. "It seemd like you know who I am but I dont know you." He asked as he cautiously made his way closer to the draw wolves.
