RE: A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes - Sven - Jul 22, 2018

the devil is & always will

Their names. He'd certainly had plenty of thoughts on that topic, ones for if their were any girls and ones for whatever boys might come. Sven hadn't settled on any of them, trusting that he would simply know when he saw his children for the first time.

As nature took its course, he said nothing, only doing his best to give her space when he felt she needed it (not that much was allowed at all in the birthing den meant mostly for mother and children rather than two grown adults) and running his tongue along her crown to soothe her when he felt she didn't. When the first one came he craned his neck to see her, dark and curled against her mother's stomach. Of course it was a girl, he thought to himself with a smile, thinking of Attica and Lila. Would they only have one as well, a pattern well known to his parents?

Luckily not. The second and last was gifted to them some time after, a son, and Sven's chest swelled with love and gratitude as he gazed upon the two dark bundles as they squirmed and mewled, rooting for milk. A boy and a girl, the best of both worlds; a perfect first litter.

He was quietly a moment, resting with Leotie and watching their children, until he felt a sudden sense of certainty.

"Scully," he told her, voice soft.

"For the boy."

be a gentleman.

not looking for some fairytale bliss

As the last waves of pain and contractions left her body Leotie was panted a little as she made sure both her children had found third way to her abdomen. She was thankful she hadn't had to go through it alone with Sven curled behind her and her packmates outside she felt supported in a way she hadn't for a long time. Finally when she was sure that both pups were nursing and comfortable she leaned into the pale fur of her lover. Any thoughts of things that had happened in past months were put aside as she basked in the fact they were a family.

Her body was sore from what it had just gone through and she knew many days of rest we're ahead of her. First things first though after informing Sven that he was now the father of a son and a daughter they would have to take them. In the more recent weeks of her pregnancy Leotie had given a lot of thought to what she wanted to make her children. A lot of names had been considered.

It was a quiet moment in which she watched the two bundles that she was now responsible for as she thought on those names again. The silence was broken by Sven speaking softly the name he had chosen for the boy. Later she might ask him why he'd chosen that one but for now she smiled her tail giving a light thump on the den floor. She looked at the grey fur of her son giving the name a little thought before declaring just as quietly as Sven had spoken, “It's perfect.”

Her blue gaze shifted to the tawny bundle that was their daughter, “What do you think of Avella for the girl?”

Addy was excited to see the pups, but knew her boundaries. She’d wait her turn. After all, they had an entire lifetime to spend with the new additions. Blitz’s voice reached her ears and she turned, craning her neck to look up at him. She nodded her head, cranium giving a few good bobs up and down. “Yeah, very. It’s a good...distraction,” she replied, trailing off a bit. Yes, a distraction. One that was sorely needed by the once social girl who had become a recluse after her father’s demise. “And I’m sure you’re excited too. With this whole thing Rav and Leotie’s got planned, you’re kinda gonna be their dad too aren’t you?” she asked. Of course, she figured both males would be a little more territorial over the pups that were their blood. But she also didn’t see either Blitz or Sven working themselves into too much of a tizzy, as long as their pups were getting the care they deserved.
