Little paws in a big world - Nauja - May 27, 2018

Zales first steps into the big bad world. @Zale and @Tyne Mid morning and sunny, warm.

[Dohtml]

In the last three weeks since her son had been born Nauja hadn't left him aside from going out to relieve herself. While the draw wolves had been nothing but kind to her she was still a little apprehensive since she didn't know most of them. Still it was time that her little man got his first taste of the big wide world. Now that his eyes and ears were open he could really experience it in the way that it should be. She wanted that for him, she wanted him to experience everything there was.

“It's time for you to greet the world,” she told her since with a gentle nudge to his side. She rose to her paws and moved to the den entrance. “It might be scary at first but your father and I will be right there with you,” she assured. Nauja then stepped out into the sun. The warmth in her face was something she'd missed but she'd happily miss it for her son. As she waited she looked around for Tyne, he'd stayed close she knew he wouldn't be too far.

Just to be sure she gave a few short barks to let him know that it was time for his son to take his first steps outside the den. She wondered if any of the other pack members would come to see him as well. None of them had seen him yet, they would need to. All in good time. The sea wolf turned back to the den entrance to watch for her son.

All he had had ever needed was right in the den. His giant food giver rarely left him and he hated when she did. He was cold without her, he was hungry like a bottomless pit. The food giver always returned, though. For that he was grateful. Or as grateful as a three-week-old pup could be.

A small cry of protest escaped him as the food giver moved away. His stubby legs pushing under his frame while she was still at the entrance of the den. Her words escaped his brain but he understood one thing. The food giver was getting further away. He settled down on his rear as she escaped into the brightness. A place he had never gone to. The boy hadn't had any interest in that place.

It was the barks that caused him to try and fumble forth. A high pitched whine escaping his small form. The boy had made it to the entrance of the den but he had no want to go further.

"Come back, food giver." He thought as another whine escaped him.

It had been three weeks since the birth of his son and in that time he couldn't be happier. With each passing day he watched his boy grow with pride. The large sea wolf didn't know this kind of love and amount of pride could ever exist. Feeling what he felt now made him grateful for Nauja saving his life even more. Tyne made sure to do everything he could for her and Zane, never leaving them more than a few hours to hunt. While he was grateful for the Draw wolves taking them in and giving them a home he was a little apprehensive for he hadn't really met any of them. He would have no issues though now meeting them now that the smallest sea wolf was old enough to be outside the den.

Tyne had gone out to catch a meal for his onyx love. Having been successful in his hunt the tawny man made his way back to their den. Her barks hit his charcoal audits causing him to pick up the pace. Luckily he wasn't far and made it back quickly. Golden eyes fell on her beautiful ebony form standing outside the den. His tail began to wag as he closed the distance between them. He placed the hare on the ground before giving her a kiss on the cheek. "I cant believe its time already" Tyne admitted with a smile. He couldn't believe how fast Zale had grown in such a short amount of time. And it seemed like the dark pup didn't want join them for his insistent whine reached them. A chuckle fell from his creamy maw as he stepped to the den. "Its okay buddy, you can come out" he tried to coax the child out, unsure if it would do any good.

Part of the sea wolf wished she could keep her son safe and in the den forever but she knew she couldn't. She didn't want him to grow up but instead stay the little fluff ball that he was. She knew that wouldn't be fair to him, he needed to see the world and learn what it was all about. She had done so, his father had and now it was time for Zale to see it all too. She knew he would have his hardships but he would also have his triumphs and she would be there for him through it all.

Just like she was then as he whined for her but she couldn't relent, this was something he had to do himself no matter how much she wanted to go and curl up with him. Tyne arrived then with a hare in his mouth, the seagull watched as he put it on the ground before coming over to her. A smile across her maw, “It is and it's too soon Tyne. He's growing so fast,” she said a sadness to her tone. Her head turned back to her son as he whined again and this time it was his father's turn to try and coax him. She watched father and son for a moment before stepping toward the den, “My Beautiful boy the world is ready to welcome you and show you all of its wonders,” she told him licking his crown, “Come join me and your father.”

RE: Little paws in a big world - Zale - Jun 28, 2018

sorry for the wait on this!! @Tyne @Nauja

No amount of coaxing seemed to make the boy budge. He merely whined at the voices of his father and mother. Brows crinkled together in a boyish frown as a lick was placed to his crown. He wanted to go back to bed! Nap and food! Why did his parents even want to be outside of the den? What was so special out here that wasn't in their cozy den?

If they wouldn't come back he would have to drag them back. He wobbly toddled underneath the front end of his mother, butting his head against her legs in hopes of getting her back into the den. A hearty whine escaped him before he moved towards his father, intent on doing the same.

Golden eyes looked on with pure love as @Nauja gave their son a lick to his crown in another attempt to coax him from their den. A small chuckle fell from his maw as the tiny sea pup finally came out, butting his head against his mother's leg before coming to his own creamy limb and doing the same. Tyne smiled looking to his love before returning his gaze to @Zale. "Its okay bud, we'll go back in in a minute." he spoke as he bumped his nose against the child's flank. "Why don't we take a look around" he suggested not fully realizing that Zale had no idea what he was saying. The Kersey man had no experience with pups what so ever, being a part of the youngest generation in Bella Coola when he was abducted there wasnt anyone younger. But that wouldn't stop him from being the best father he could be.

It was becoming clearer to the first time mother that her little man didn't want to leave the den. She didn't miss the frown that crossed her son's face as she tried to give him and encouraging lick. Nauja started to think of other ways to coax Zale out of the den but it seemed he had ideas of his own.

The sea pup had come out finally only to find his way under her to head butt her legs. She didn't move but looked over at Tyne as he chuckled before trying his paw at encouraging their son. “Maybe we should move away? He might follow,” she suggested to her love. She gave Zale a small bump on his rear as he started for his father not wanting Tyne to miss out on a headbutt too. Then she stepped in the opposite direction of the den in hopes her some would follow.

Why didn't that work? They talked more and while their voices would usually soothe the child, he only seemed to frown more. Nothing sounded like food or nap. He was given bumps in return but they didn't seem to follow as he took a fumbling step or two back towards the den. Instead it looked like his Mother was moving further away from the den.

Puppy blues squinted before he huffed hard. With a mix of a whine and a growl bubbling in his throat, he awkwardly charged for his Mother's swarthy form before tripping over his own paws. It was with a soft thud that he met the earth in front of her paws. He did not cry or scream but instead, he stayed perfectly still.

Nauja suggested that they move back in hopes that Zale would follow them. Tyne gave a nod in agreeance and took a step back as soon as the dark pup was no longer leaning on his forelimb anymore. It seemed like the dark woman was right for the tiny sea pup started towards her making his displeasure very appearant. Zale charged his mother before getting tripped up and flopping on the ground. Tynes charcoal dusted ears flew forwards as he took a step in their direction. No sound came from the child which concerned the new father. Was he okay? Why wasnt he moving?

RE: Little paws in a big world - Nauja - Aug 16, 2018

Nauja didn't really understand why Zale wanted to stay at the den so badly, she was sure that was what this was all about. All the other pups she had know wanted to venture outside the den and even the borders. They were eager to get out into the world but not her little boy. Of she didn't think he needed to do this she would have let him return and her with him. They would curl up in the den and nap the day away but he needed to make this trip outside just this once.

Coaxing him further seemed to he the best idea and it seemed to work at first. Zale charged at her but then he stumbled and didn't move. She looked to Tyne who seemed rather worried as was she. Nauja lay down on her stomach and crawled to where her son lay unmoving a quiet whimper bubbling in her throat. “Zale, baby,” she whispered, “Will you fine along for me and your father? Then once you've had a look around we can go back for lunch. Would that be okay?”
