Where the wild things are - Vasilisa - Jun 20, 2018 AW! Pups now weigh 5-6 lbs.; the growth of adult hair around nose and eyes is now apparent, and their high-pitched howls gain strength and volume. Mothers may now leave den for hours to hunt. Play and dominance fights among siblings begin. At 1 month old, puppies fully enter their "toddler" stage. They are able to recognize and respond to their names and will, from this point onward, continue to expand their vocabulary. Simple commands and instruction can also be comprehended (ie. "Stop that," "No," "Come here.") and may be subject to repetition by echolalia and attempts to fully understand the word or phrase. At the end of this phase they should be able to complete two-word sentences (ie. "I eat" or "I go"). Estimated human age: 3 years old.
The slope leading out from the den was becoming easier and easier to conquer each day for the little Artemieva. The girl often left her brother @Nikolai behind in the den before he made his way out. Today was no different, Vasilisa made her way out of the den and into the sun light. A golden sea of rye was splayed out in front of her, beckoning her. With a lopsided smile the tawny girl let out a happy yip and toddled towards the grass. The golden stalks stood way taller than she did but that didn't deter her. With puppy blue eyes full of wonder Vasi entered the sea taking in all its wonders. Her small coal nose tracked along the soil taking in anything and everything that intrigued her. Everything was so exciting! Beautiful shades of gold and browns filled the girls still developing eye sight. Oversized brown paws padded along knocking over stocks of rye as she went. It shouldn't have been a surprise that someone had spotted her but Vasilisa didnt quite posses that concept just yet. So when a voiced called out her name she jumped a little. She spun to see a woman that was the size of her mother but wasn't her mother. Blue eyes looked up at the sliver and black woman with confusion before another goof lopsided grin formed on her tiny maw. "I - I sspores" She said with pride. Her tail wagged behind her ferociously causing her back end to wave back and forth. "You spores? Vasi asked hoping that the big would explore with her. RE: Where the wild things are - Vasilisa - Jul 11, 2018 A gleeful yip of pure happiness fell from the girl's creamy maw when the salt and pepper big said she would splore with her. All four tawny paws stamped up and down with excitement. The Artemieva pup thought for a moment when she was asked where she wanted to go. "Uh dis way" she exclaimed as she bounded off in a random direction. Vasi allowed all the new scents to flood her senses as she kept her coal nose to the ground. She glanced over her shoulder to make sure the big was following. Denim blue eyes caught sight of her giving her the confidence to keep going. The tawny pup stopped abruptly, her head jerking up her sight stuck on the grey fluff that darted from behind a rock. "What tat?" The girl questioned her attention still on the tiny creature having no idea what it was. RE: Where the wild things are - Jessie - Jul 26, 2018 [dohtml]
RE: Where the wild things are - Vasilisa - Jul 28, 2018 As quickly as it appeared the grey fluff was gone again and not only was it gone but so was the big that was with her! A whine fell from the child's maw in protest to Jessie's hunt. Just where did she think she was going? Vasi wanted to go too! Before the pup could come back, the Rye alpha was back with the fluffy grey thing in her mouth. Stopping short Vasilisa looked up in awe as the hare was placed in front of her. Once it was on the ground Vasi began to sniff at it as Jessie explained what it was. "Uh - ha - air?" She tried to repeat her brows furrowing in frustration knowing that was not how it was supposed to be said. Little did the child know she would soon become very well versed able to say just about everything right. RE: Where the wild things are - Jessie - Aug 08, 2018 [dohtml]
RE: Where the wild things are - Vasilisa - Aug 16, 2018 [dohtml] Vasi's own disappointment quickly melted away was Jessie reassured her that she had in fact said it right. A wide smile beamed from the child's maw until the salt and pepper woman asked if she wanted to try. "Try?" the girl asked her head tilting to the side? Try it how? As in eat? She only ate milk from her mama. That's what everyone ate right? The larger woman tore a leg off of the furry animal and set it down in front of the child. Curiously Vasi sniffed at it. It didnt smell as yummy as her mama's milk but she guessed it smelted kinda good. Completely unsure of the whole thing she stuck her tongue out as she looked the leg. Slowly she bent down closer to it allowing her tongue to touch it. It felt funny on her tongue, warm like milk but different. She then tentatively opened her mouth and closed it around the meat. She tried to take a bite but the texture was too foreign for her to actually go through with it. Her maw scrunched up revealing her pearly while milk teeth as she sat back on her haunches and pawed at the leg. RE: Where the wild things are - Jessie - Aug 24, 2018 [dohtml]
