Rules Reminder - Corinna - Feb 20, 2012 [dohtml] Rules Reminder: Post LengthsThis is a reminder from your administration that there is a 2-3 paragraph minimum when posting here on RoW. A paragraph is defined at 5-6 sentences. Ideally, you should be shooting for at least 250 words per post. Recently, the issue of post length has become incredibly pressing, and we're pretty disheartened by the lack of respect for this particular rule. As a result, the administration has decided to disqualify members who's posts are overwhelming short from the Monthly Top Posters competition. Typing up at a 6 or sentence post and dividing it into "two" paragraphs, is not the same as putting thought into your posts, and its hardly fair to the members who do take the time and energy to really write to be bested by somebody who's maximum post length is maybe 30 words. Additionally, there has been a fair bit of powerplaying and godmodding going on - and these are most definitely against our rules here at RoW. Powerplay is defined as controlling what another character does, whether that be what they're thinking, how they react, etc. This is most commonly seen in fights, where it is tempting to say that your attack hit the opposing character, but that is considered powerplay. If you're having issues with this, then I would recommend you take a look at our ROLEPLAY TIPS or ask in Chat Central to ask about it. More experienced writers are happy to help you. Likewise, if you're godmodding, it is just as aggravating to the people you're rping with. Godmodding is when your character knows information that they could not possibly know. For example, Wolf A thinks Wolf B is really cute, but in no way indicates this. Wolf B asks Wolf A why they think he/she is cute. This post is aimed primarily towards our newer members, some of whom seem to be having difficulties with posting. We're happy to have you here at RoW, and we hope that by rping with us you become better writers. That said, these are a part of our rules, and as members of our community, we ask that you follow them. [/dohtml]Rules Reminder - Ruiko - Feb 20, 2012 Another quick reminder guys.. With the introduction of Life Points, we have still been working out a few quirks and tweaking the program to best suit everyone. While we understand everyone else is still new to the program as well and might make mistakes or misudnerstand the number of points they should be alloted, we have noticed a small handful of members who are attempting to abuse the Life Point system by claiming points they know do not actually qualify. Adding up the LP for every character is not a small task and for the staff to have to sort through false claims as well it adds an unimpressive work load. The members who continue to do this will be banned from the Life Point program and unable to participate. Thank you for understanding. |
