I'm a goner - Corona - Oct 29, 2018

After her encounter with the field wolves, Corona had spent her time traveling away from their territory. They were not very welcoming of her, so she just let them be. Aside from her encounter with her fishing friend, traveling had begun to bore her. The lands she found were vast and ever-changing. One second she would be surrounded by thick trees and another, she would be stuck in a vast clearing with rugged and mountainous terrain in every direction. Aside from the fish she'd helped her new friend catch, Corona feasted on tricky ptarmigans and the occasion hare while prancing upon the new found land. In no shape was she obviously corpulent, however rather quite the opposite. With the coyotes' threats, food was scarce. Although she had the hares, they were only temporary- barely enough. Oh how she could go for a fat, juicy caribou right now!

Paws tread beneath dampened earth as Corona scouted and scoped the territory. No signs of any threats; no marks of a pack residing here... looks like this is just going to be another location to put on her mental map! It was nice here at least, a little damp, but the way the trees cut through the light made it seem exceptionally peaceful. Corona sniffed the base of a broken tree, leaned against it with her shoulder and lead herself onto her back, squirming and kicking as she rolled along its base.

It was time for her to start looking for a pack to reside in, or at least she could start to learn of a few. Winter was steadily coming, and by the looks of her surroundings, once the snow piled, a lone wolf was a dead wolf.

RE: I'm a goner - Helen - Nov 02, 2018

The adventurous one was out exploring again. Helen had picked another random direction and decidedly followed it to wherever it lead her to. She knew that she had put quite a distance between herself and her pack's territory. The humongous lake with tiny islands was way behind her. Instead, she found herself in a rather calm and peaceful forest. Red and yellowish leaves were strewn all over the floor, decorating the entire area. With every paw forward, a "crunch" could be heard from beneath her paws. Helen silently surveyed the woods. It looked just like any autumn forest, simply beautiful. The only difference from the other woods she had explored was that the forest was on the slope of a hill. At the bottom of the hill was a huge body of water that snaked through the canyon. Her eyes were widened a little, as she took in the picturesque view from the top. After stopping for a little sight-seeing, she quietly stood up and brushed past a thick tree trunk.

She had been following one of the scattered trails for awhile now. From a distance, she noticed a grey figure rolling along the base of a tree trunk. A broken tree trunk. It was just ahead of her. Helen continued following the trail. As she drew nearer, she could tell that the stranger was about the same size as her, maybe a little bigger. Helen could make a guess that she was about her age. From her scent, she didn't seem to be from a pack. "Hi," was all Helen said, as she continued to watch the stranger squirming about.

As the grey female squirmed about on the damp earth, she couldn't help but release small grunts of pleasure. The trees' underground limbs pressing into her back and sides felt so good! It had only been a few minutes of her rolling when she heard a stranger's greeting. Shocked, Corona quickly opened her eyes, something was not right here though, the stranger was upside down!

"Oh Possums!" Corona chuckled to herself and began to stabilize herself, a bit of leaves, dirt and debris clinging to her thickening pelt. Her ears drew back as a bit of humiliation set in. She'd been so caught up in her rolling pleasures that she hadn't even heard the female coming! She wagged her relaxed tail to reveal she was of no threat. "Sorry you had to see that..." her eyes shifting away from the female and her tail tucking slightly. This was going to be awkward whether she could help it or not. " Have.... you... tried it before? It feels really good and its actually pretty fun!" she said, turning her sights back to the female, her ears and tail returning to their happier positions.

However, only for a moment. Corona's gaze returned to their shifty ways once more as she didn't know quite how to address the strange woman. Even for a female of her own age. She didn't smell of superiority, although she did of a pack, soooo maybe she should address her as a pack wolf? "So, you're a.. pack wolf?"

Helen had never tried rolling about on the roots of a tree trunk before. She wondered if it would hurt. After all, having her back against the uneven ground of rough protruding structures did not sound like such a pleasant experience. But it did seem that the tawny wolf had enjoyed herself. Perhaps rubbing against the tree trunk wasn't that painful after all.

It was quite a strange question for the stranger to ask out of the blue. If this was a few weeks ago, her answer would have been a "no". It was strange to think all about it now. So much has changed in such a short period of time. "Yes, I'm a pack wolf." Helen stated plainly after a moment of silence. Why was the lady asking her this question? She flattened her ears a little, afraid that the stranger wasn't happy with the fact that she was a pack wolf. "I-I hope you don't have anything against that..." she stammered meekly. It was her turn to tuck her tail between her legs, as the conversation seemed to be shifting to an even more awkward direction. "So, you're a lone wolf?"

The strange female didnt seem to be a threat, in fact, they seemed very similar to eachother! Having a conversation with other females was a rare sight for her; she had never been very good at it. However, as the stranger answered her, Corona's pale gaze caught a familiar one, she saw her feel just as vulnerable and scared as she was. It was, comforting.

" Oh no! Nothing against it... At least you'll fare well come winter!" She grinned lightly. That wasn't to say she herself wouldnt fare well... so far all the packs she knew of weren't very welcoming. Rather stuck up, if you asked her.

" Yup!" she said with a happy smile and a swish of her tail. "I was thinking of joining one myself," she started to explain, however after she thought it over, maybe she could do this winter alone. Perhaps it would be good for her. Yea, she could build her stamina up! Strength too! Maybe do a bit of running? " I just don't know much about the packs around here." The leaves on her back were beginning to itch now so she gently shook them off. "What's yours like?"

RE: I'm a goner - Helen - Nov 09, 2018

The lady let out a sigh of relief, her ears flopping back upwards once again. Fortunately, the stranger wasn't against pack wolves or anything. The other female was alright with being a lone wolf, not what Helen had expected. A few weeks ago, the russet lady had experienced what it actually felt like to not belong in any pack. All she felt was hunger, loneliness and longing, nothing close to happiness. She secretly wondered how the stranger was able to put up with all that, but still remain joyful. The stranger wanted to join a pack, just like Helen did when she was a lone wolf.

"Well, I'm kinda new to my pack." she admitted. "So far, everyone's been really nice and friendly."
