stay asleep at the wheel - Nineva - Nov 02, 2018

private for @Neha only, set oct. 7th on the south side of the lake. re: torrential rain has caused flooding in certain areas.

The lake had swelled and expanded as the unrelenting rains overtook its shores. It made for poor travel, and of course that was why the storms had come when Nineva and @Ellery had set out to look for Elias. The ground was soaked through and puddles pooled; sometimes the water came up her legs and she was thankful her daughter had grown so tall so quickly lest she need carried through the flooding.

In it all, they had made some headway at the least. With the girl stored for the night, Nineva had only one thing remaining on her agenda before today melded into tomorrow. She sought out Neha, a relatively difficult feat considering the moisture that permeated everything and the fact that they hadn't exactly left together. When she did finally see that familiar tawny coat, it was a relief.

"Neha! Can I have a moment?"

RE: stay asleep at the wheel - Neha - Nov 05, 2018

Neha seemed oblivious to the rains. She didn't let the cascading torrents of water stop her from going out. It was dark, chilly and wet when she had set off, away from the lake. She hadn't made it far, considering it's shore was still well within eyesight. Her paws splashed through deep puddles of water, the mud squishing between her toes. She was seeking higher ground, somewhere she could get away from all the standing water. It'd only make her feel more chilly, more exposed. Her pale tawny coat had already gotten soaked and now it was a disheveled mess.

Not that she cared. She only cared for Aleister. She barely cared for herself. While she chose to stay close, a part of the pack, she was not yet certain with whom her loyalty lay. Aytigin had challenged her...taken the time to talk and listen. But then there was Nineva, who had gone out of her way to give her a shot at a new life. A new home. Which somehow, true to form, the Vuesain believed she had screwed up. Be it her fault or not, she felt torn in two. She stopped when Nineva called out to her, not far away. She remained with her back to her, unmoving except for a slight turn of her head, a subtle cue that she was listening.
