living in the real world - Viorel - Mar 04, 2021

'Cause you're on your own in the real world

Typically Viorel liked to wake up in the late morning, but not usually this late. A yawn stretched his maw wide enough to cause some tears to gather in the corner of his dandelion eyes. Stretching leisurely, and shaking his salt and pepper coat out in an attempt to wake up his limbs from the deep slumber he had been in, he was shocked to see the sun. Well, not shocked to see the sun but that it was at its highest point in the sky already. Had he really slept for that long?

Grumbling a little in annoyance with himself Viorel began a lazy lope towards the creek for a drink. Sure, he could have just eaten some snow, but he much preferred the taste of moving water. Who did he think he was? In just a short week he would be the leader of a pack and come the spring...a dad? And here he was sleeping half the day away like a pup. The reminder of being a dad was fresh on his mind the last few days, spring was fast upon it and with it came...changes. But, it wasn’t time, not yet.

Viorel grumbled again. He hated the spring.

RE: living in the real world - Xulia - Mar 07, 2021

It'd been so long since Xulia had seen her family that she almost couldn't contain her excitement upon being reunited with them. She wasn't as excitable as most would be, but she was happy to be with them once again, and it showed. She'd been awake for hours at this point, exploring this new place and familiarizing herself with what was going to be their territory.

Not her territory, she thought with a twinge of bitterness. That was... not ideal. Not sustainable, for her, because she knew deep down that she would never be happy under the rule of another wolf. Even if that wolf was her own brother.

But for now, she could be fine with it. Because she wanted the best for her family as well - just... she wanted that top spot. Always had, always would. That would never change.

"What're you grumbling about?" she asked her brother as she approached, brow arched and a small smile formed on her maw. She'd had an impulse to push him into the river, but had restrained that childish desire. "It's a nice day."

'Cause you're on your own in the real world

Viorel was not sure if he had been expecting to see anyone hanging around the creek this late into the morning. Usually their future pack members went off throughout the day and did their own thing, scouting, hunting, or just exploring. If anyone, he would have expected @Vanadis, as he knew that she also frequented the night rather than the day. The thought made him feel a little hot along the cheeks, stumbling upon her out in the night now that spring had struck felt dangerous, and tempting.

Before that less than innocent thought could really be formed or explored a familiar voice caught his attention. To say he was surprised was an understatement. He knew that Xulia had been found by Sharlee of course, and had seen the signs that she was still hanging around. But, that was it. Maybe it was opposite sleeping schedules, maybe it was more purposeful, who knows, but for whatever reason Viorel had yet to have a conversation with her.

Normally he would have rushed forward and embraced her, rejoiced in their reunion and bombarded her with questions. But, today he was in one of his rare foul moods and her words certainly didn’t help the matter. Glancing over his shoulder his expression was less than pleased, ”And here I was starting to think you were avoiding me.” It was blunt, not his style, but she had caught him on a bad day.
