Like a flash in the night - Rochus - Apr 28, 2021

Early evening, scattered clouds, 51.8F11C. All welcome!

Rochus had spent part of the day brooding and scheming and the other part hunting in that order. He was better at hunting with a clear head, and there was no better way to do that than to think through the thoughts in his head. It had taken him some time to find his prey, but he had made short work of catching it and wolfing it down, filling the hunger in his stomach. Luck seemed to favour him as he found and caught another rabbit with little trouble, intending to bring it back to Amondi for her to eat.

He made his way through the meadow, the rabbit hanging limply from his jaws. The day had been fairly uneventful, and he had hope that the night would be the same. Looking after not just himself but also another was trouble enough; he could not afford to be injured, even with spring well on its way. And so he picked up the pace to a brisk trot, hoping to get back to her before it became too much darker.

RE: Like a flash in the night - Casper - Apr 30, 2021

While he had still yet gathered the courage to cross over the mountain that was ever taunting him in the distance, Casper had felt as if he had just about travelled down its length from north to south and had yet to find anywhere to truly call home yet. Oh, that spooky forest was at the back of his mind always, ever since coming across it, even if he wasn't entirely sure why. But one wolf couldn't just claim it. And besides, the ghost wasn't sure if he was one for any sort of leadership. Maybe as he grew older, things would fall into place but at the moment, everything just appeared …lost to him.

Perhaps he could try find Clover again - she definitely seemed like someone who'd have her life together and have a few ideas by now at least, even if they were about the same age.

Yet his feet had taken him down towards this meadow, curious about the wide open space that appeared the perfect place to stargaze as the sun slowly meandered towards the horizon. Yet the scent of another wolf caught his attention as the wind shifted, buffeting his coat as the white male glanced around in an attempt to find the other.

He was hyper focused on his goal to return to Amondi, so much so that the scent of another wolf caught him off guard, and he came to an abrupt halt, the rabbit swinging wildly in his jaws. His head swiveled around in an attempt to see the other wolf in the darkening light conditions, and after spotting no one he surged forward at the same brisk pace. Making short work of the hill he had to scale, Rochus let out an annoyed rumble at the sight of another wolf directly in his path back to his mate. There would be no circling around the white wolf as unless the other was blind, they would have also spotted him.

Letting out another grumble he made his way down the hill, angling slightly away from the other wolf so as to walk around them, hoping that they would simply acknowledge each other's presence and move on with their lives. He had no time for small talk with a stranger as Amondi was surely hungry by now, and he found himself already having a shorter fuse than normal that day. It would be bad timing to get into a scuffle with another, especially if they were of the mind to try and take the rabbit away from him. No way in hell was he allowing that.
