Fluffernutter - Sita - May 09, 2021

Sita has been here for about a week. I really don't mind if any basic neutral/positive interaction assumptions were made: like if your character offered to help her dig or anything like that. (I really don't want it to come off like she has legit just ignored her family for a week, but I've been pretty busy.) If you wanna DM me on Discord to check if they did something specific in a hang out that's also v fine with me.

Sita hoped for a girl.

Her son offered her shelter in the safety of what seemed to be her family's new pack. Let by her son. She was a proud mother. And perhaps she would have been more excited to see her family if she wasn't immediately drawn to find a place to den. She'd already made one, but miles away now. A new one it was.

So that had been Sita's focus. Finding a suitable place to make her den that wasn't intrustive on the kindness of her family. Guilt did pick delicately at her as she dug, reminded with every pedal that this pup would be gifted with a father. And her elder children were not. She was a terrible mother now intruding on their happiness with nothing to offer but gaping mouths. So she didn't want to be a bother and maintain what dignity she had. What positive thoughts she could hold onto. Maybe it was hormones. Maybe it was reality.

But she'd constructed her den in a location appropriate for her station. When the sun rose on the final day, Sita felt the familiar stirrings of labor and howled out a notice for her family and the rest of the pack. And then she retreated into her den, stretched out, breathing through unpleasant contractions and listening for approaching paws.

RE: Fluffernutter - Sharlee - May 09, 2021

[dohtml]

Things had been turbulent for the young pack with Clovet and Vanadis becoming pregnant. Then the plague that had ripped through the pack. Sharlee for one was glad that she was feeling much better. Her strength had returned and she finally felt like helping around the pack. It was as important now as ever. They had a new member, Sita had come. The young Valle girl was happy about that but there was a little more to it. Sita was pregnant which meant another mouth to feed and young one to take care of.

In the coming weeks she hoped that their situation would become clearer so they would know how to proceed. For the time being Sharlee as Viorel's advisor had kept a close watch on the pregnant woman for her leaders sake. Sita was also her aunt and she worried about the woman.

That was why when the howl sounded it didn't take her long to reach the den. She'd been close by so had hurried to make sure her aunt was okay. When she arrived she found Sita inside, "Is everything okay Aunt Sita?" she asked into the mouth of the den.

RE: Fluffernutter - Viorel - May 09, 2021

Unless directly interacted with, feel free to pp Viorel just lounging silently throughout the thread!

[dohtml]

Viorel had been keeping his distance from his mother. Watching her from afar, dropping food presents at the den that she had dug when he was sure that she was asleep, or away. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to see her, he did, but he still had not come to terms with her pregnancy. And, it would seem that there was not even really any time to brood on it any longer.

The howl was urgent and the leader knew that could probably only mean one thing. Trotting quickly to the scene he nodded to Sharlee who had her head in the den and took a spot farther away in the tree line. Settling into a lounging position but saying nothing, he took the spot of silent guardian. He was there if she needed anything, as he had requested from Vayko. But, he wasn’t going to intrude, or even necessarily making his mother aware of his position. If she smelled him and realized he was here, fine, if she didn’t, also fine. That wasn’t his place.

RE: Fluffernutter - Modesto - May 10, 2021

Sita had arrived. Her little sister, belly full with pregnancy. It didnt surprise her. Where was Platon then? No where to be seen but a third man did not shock Modesto.

It was nearly impossible to turn her away but the weight of it would bare down on the pack greatly. How many pups would starve? How many older members might to try and keep the pups from doing so? Her aged mother, perhaps? How many members would be forced to hunt constantly with three mother's in their dens making themselves dead weight? What caches would be stolen from whilst they were so scattered?

Modesto takes in a deep breath and gives out a long and heavy sigh. Why couldn't it have been her sweet Amondi? (Insert weird witchy aunt vibes here)

Two pregnancies, a destroyed cache, a sickness, another pregnancy.... The call rang out over the territory. Modesto had heard this call before. Sita's time had come. Taking pace towards the den, Modesto is met with her nephew first. "Get your healer." The demand was clipped towards the Leader. If Clover had any opportunities to prove herself useful to Modesto then as a baby making machine, it was now.

Without waiting for retort, Modesto continued on towards the den opening. A labored mother within, waiting for the opportune moment to birth. "We're here, Sita." Comes a coo, as pleasant as ever, made to ease her younger sister's nerves.

RE: Fluffernutter - Sita - May 14, 2021

One by one, the voices of her family echoed into the den. She would let them soothe her, take her back to what had been their home. Instead of...well, nowhere. Perhaps this would be her home one day and not just an asylum offered to her. In a few days she would be on her feet again; she would help them rebuild from the tumultuous beginning her son had given her a glimpse into.

"I am fine," she panted out to dear Sharlee. "The child is coming." With a small groan, Sita adjusted to try and get more comfortable.

Outside, she could smell her elder son, a leader. She smiled through her discomfort. And then her older sister and the feeling of safety continued. She vaguely heard her say something to Viorel, but could not parse it. "Thank you, Modesto." She would say, quietly now as the pain lingered longer and longer until it was only relief.

She began to lick the child clean, nosing it to memorize the scent...

A girl. If only Azra was here to see her.

"A girl," Sita lifted her voice, invigorated, before nosing the squeaking whelp towards her abdomen.

RE: Fluffernutter - Sharlee - May 15, 2021

The young Valle girl wasn't the only one to show up. Viorel and Modesto had appeared at the den as well. Sharlee wasn't surprised by their appearances either since they were both directly related to Sita. She wondered how Viorel was doing with it all but she didn't think then was the time to find out. She did glance in his direction for a moment until her aunt Modesto spoke into the den as well. She wanted her sister to they were there.

This would be the first time she'd been around for a birth and she didn't know if there was anything she should he doing. So she took cues from her Aunt Modesto who didn't seem upset about it at all. Instead she was more reassuring for Sita than anything. Sharlee's ears turned toward the den as Sita's voice came from inside. "Please let us know if you need anything," she told before sitting back on her haunches to wait. Which didn't seem very long when the next words from the den was that it was a girl. How exciting. "Congratulations Aunt Sita," she said into the den but wondered if that was all.

RE: Fluffernutter - Viorel - May 16, 2021

Very short post! @Clover or @Vanadis whoever wants to jump in feel free to pp Viorel getting them and coming back with them.

[dohtml]

Given that he was already in a less than pleasant mood about the whole situation, Aunt Modesto’s demand rubbed him the wrong way. Once her back was turned and she had ducked her head into the den he offered her a wrinkled snout and a flash of teeth before going off to do her bidding. In another time he would have been more understanding of his aunt’s blunt manner, but today making a demand of her leader seemed inappropriate.

Still, her suggestion was a good one and so he got to his feet silently. Glancing at Sharlee warily before he left, he turned and disappeared into the foliage. Aunt Modesto may have been thinking of Clover when she requested a healer, but Viorel was going to get whoever was closer, Vanadis or Clover.

RE: Fluffernutter - Modesto - May 24, 2021

Modesto's worries would ease away at the sight of her sister and the new pup to bare into this world. She knew that this would be hard on the pack, a trial not fitting for such new leaders. But Modesto, as she looked to her newest niece, thought maybe they could survive this. She did not know if all the pups might for time could only tell this but maybe, just maybe, they would get out of this okay.

Got a name planned for her? Her words fell to whisper as she reclined on her haunches, laying outside of the den with her head remained sticking inside to view.

RE: Fluffernutter - Sita - May 24, 2021

Sita laid quietly for a long moment, worrying over her child. She felt out herself, any further twitches, discomfort... but there was just the retreating feeling left by the single pup at her belly. She heard the voices outside, speaking to her. And they'd been waiting.

"Hazelnut, I think." She lifted her voice towards those waiting outside and gave her daughter a few more comforting licks. Now she just had to get big and strong so her father could come see her. Or could at least walk a short distance to him. And Walleye, as well. But she was awfully small. And just one. "Hazel." She repeated, mostly to herself.

"I can't wait for you to meet her."

RE: Fluffernutter - Vanadis - Jun 01, 2021

[Dohtml]

Viorel seemed to be... in a mood, not that he had taken it out on her or anything, but she could tell he wasn't exactly pleased with this whole situation. Quickly, the woman grabbed a mouthful of herbs and followed him to his mother's location, determined that once Sita and her litter had been cleared, she would seek him out. If he wanted to talk, she would listen and if not, well, then she would offer silent support.

Taking note of the wolves who had arrived before her, Vanadis slipped past them toward the den entrance, careful to leave a comfortable distance between herself and the tawny woman. Dropping the herbs so that she could speak, Vana called out, her voice softer than usual, "Sita," or should she have addressed her as Ms. Valle? "I've brought you some herbs in case you need them. How are you feeling?" she wouldn't be intrusive, not unless she needed to be.
