I'm Closer to the Clouds Up Here - Vlarindara - Mar 20, 2012

[doHTML]

Weary footsteps brought the weary beast from her den to the height of the Mountain. She wasn't sure what really spurred her to such heights, but Vlarindara was hoping that she'd be able to figure...SOMETHING out.. If nothing else, she could enjoy the view from the top of the mountain. The vernal plants that had begun to grow were beautiful, she had to admit.. And the dirtied ivory canine stopped every so often to simply admire the beauty of the place. Angier had helped her through the last of the winters weeks..but even his presence hadn't stopped the sores from developing on her hide from lying in one place too long.

Vlarindara wasn't sure if the sores were caused by that, or by some sort of..virus she was coming down with or something else. She just assumed it was because she was remaining still in her den the majority of the last few weeks. Spring had come, and with it, hopefully warmer weather. Ascending the side of the mountain was no menial task.. nor was it easy by any means.. and by the time she arrived, she was panting raggedly, limbs shaking from exertion they weren't used to. However, the *view* from up here.. it was spectacular.

The broken wolfess shifted gingerly and rested herself upon one of the rocks, soaking up the warmth and simply watching the valley below. Her single left eye watching the birds that flocked from tree to tree, screaming about something or another. For a heartbeat, she looked towards the thicket of secrets, wondering if that bear from years ago had reappeared this winter. She certainly hadn't encountered him again thankfully.

I'm Closer to the Clouds Up Here - Pakuna - Mar 20, 2012

[dohtml]

The dark earthen pelt rippled constantly as toned muscles
shifted beneath it. The female brought herself along, paws
gripping the large rocks she was scaling upwards. The wind
blew downwards, rustling her fur. Pale green eyes blinked
as a light dusting of dirt whirled down towards her and
along the rocks she had just travelled up. Bushy tail
flicked as the scent of another wolf had entered her nose.
Continuing her upward journey, her head tilted slightly
as she thought she could spot something white amongst
the vernal sprouts of plants along the rocky terrain.

Panting, Pakuna came to a slow before completely stopping.
She turned her frame, eyes casting down upon the earth
below. What an absolutely stunning view. She has had
experience climbing and scaling mountains before, but
it has been quite the amount of time since she has. This
was a workout, but one that was definitely worth it. Mind
whirred as she scented the air, wondering what sort
of critters hid among these rocks. Stomach growling
lightly, she shifted around once more, now facing the
upward progression of the mountain.

She hopped onto a larger, cracked rock. There it was
again, the crisp, unmistakeable coat of a white wolf.
Was there really something there, or was she just
tired from the climb?

I'm Closer to the Clouds Up Here - Vlarindara - Mar 20, 2012

[doHTML]

Sounds of another reached her ears, and Vlarindara glanced at Pakuna warily, shifting to vacate her rock and scrambling clumsily away from the other female, her tail tucking firmly between her hind legs, head lowering in a rather obvious gesture of 'please don't hurt me.' even as her ears folded back against her neck submissively. The sudden movement tore the bare scabs over her left side, causing the wounds to once again bleed sluggishly.

Vlarindara shifted and moved to put as much distance between herself and the other female as possible. Why? Because she smelled of a pack, and the dirtied she-wolf had no idea WHAT pack it was.. and if she would be attacked for having trod upon some sacred ground or something. "I..I was just leaving." She backed up, her left hind paw sliding against the displaced rocks, causing her to freeze and glance behind her. Nope.. not that way.

I'm Closer to the Clouds Up Here - Pakuna - Mar 21, 2012

[dohtml]

Her eyes were not deceiving her- there was a wolf, and
it seemed very scared at that. Pakuna shook her head,
suddenly holding still as not to frighten her any more that
she accidentally had. "Oi wolf!" she called out,
sounding concerned "I'm not gonna hurt ye. Ye ok?
Yer bleedin'."

A frown slipped 'cross her cream maw as she stood
on the cracked rock watching the female scramble away
from her. Was she scared because Pakuna smelled of
other wolves. Her ears wriggled, nose flaring as she
could smell the iron scent of blood that began to come
from her wounds.

"G-Go away. Don't hurt me." Vlarindara took a few steps backwards, her head lowering until her nose touched the ground. Ears pinned tightly against her skull as the wolf stood upon the rock she had previously stood upon. The wolfs ears pointed towards her in a gesture that she read as dominance, and Vlarindara crouched as low as she could possibly get, whines slipping from her lips. "I didn't do nothing to you..I'm on neutral lands."

The wolfess focused her single amber eye upon Pakuna, wondering if she would listen, or if she would leave her alone. Vlarindara was worried that everything the other was doing was to show dominance to her. Standing on her rock - watching her so intently. It scared her... but then, everyone was dominant to her.

I'm Closer to the Clouds Up Here - Pakuna - Mar 26, 2012

[dohtml]

Pakuna could tell this female was on edge, fear-scent lingering
down the cliff into her nostrils. She blinked, her spring green eyes
scanning the area around them. Sighing softly, the she-wolf
lowered her ears, jaws snapping shut. She did not want to
catechize the white wolf, but it seemed necessary in order
to calm her nerves. After all, she was injured, and Pakuna did
not get an answer as to whether or not the wolf was alright.

"These be neutral lands, yes." she said softly, rather
odd for her gruff voice to do such a thing "I'm not gonna
hurt ye. Jus' wanted to know if ye were ok. Smells the blood
on ya, I do. If ye want me to go away, I shall. I be sorry for
disturbin' ya."
Pakuna now put herself in reverse, large
paws stepping backwards onto the cracked rock she had
just hoisted herself from.

Her dark ears remained swiveled backwards against her
head, showing she meant no harm. Flocculent tail lowering,
she now turned her frame away from the wolf, pupils sliding
to the corner of her eyes to watch what the wolfess would
do next.

I'm Closer to the Clouds Up Here - Vlarindara - Apr 10, 2012

[doHTML]

She knew she was bleeding. The sores on her side were painful at best.. but Vlarindara didn't want to do anything to cause her to get even more injured.. but she did force herself to relax and lower to the snows beneath ehr belly, eyes focusing on Pakuna with no small measure of fear. Her tongue slid over her lips before she lowered her head and glanced nervously around, then shuffled backwards a few more steps...Pressing her back towards the open edge of the cliff.

"I'm...n-not hurt. Just..Sore." And cold. The wind that blew up the side of the mountain made her shiver, the lack of fur on her form causing her to have lost alot of the insulation that wolves tended to have this time of year. She didn't smell any familiarity in Pakuna, but she did smell other wolves. A.. new pack, perhaps? "W-where are...you from?" Try to make conversation - try to keep her from wanting to rip her face off.

I'm Closer to the Clouds Up Here - Pakuna - Apr 10, 2012

[dohtml]

A frown pulled aggressively at Pakuna's ebon lips, and a sorrowful
look embellished her pale green eyes. She watched the wolf carefully.
The poor thing seemed terrified- and Pakuna felt sorry that she ever
stumbled upon her. The wind blew, her dark pelt ruffled, and the rustic
scent of blood from the wolf gliding into her nostrils. "I be from Copper
Rock Creek."
she stated, her tones proud. She greatly enjoyed her
pack. Pakuna backed up a bit, giving the female her space.

"Ye sure yer fine? Don't ye have a pack to help ye or somethin'?"
She hated to be a bother, but the wolf just seemed so...scared. Helpless.
If a hostile wolf were to attack her, what would happen? She did not want
to see this wolf in any more stress she was in right now.

[doHTML]

"n-No..I don't.." But..she managed. Vlarindara frowned before she remained crouched where she was, glancing around side to side, tilting her head t an odd angle in order to see everything she possibly could before she returned the single-eyed amber gaze to Pakuna. She had to get away.. The female might not want to hurt her now - but eventually, she would. The wolfess new it would happen - she just *knew* it would happen.

Shaking paws carried her further away from Pakuna - a few more steps as she skirted the edge of the cliff, attention focused on the other one. "Ccopper rock? H-how..is it there?" Distract her.. Just keep her talking.

I'm Closer to the Clouds Up Here - Pakuna - Apr 13, 2012

[dohtml]

Pakuna tilted her head at the nervous one's words "It's...wonderful."
she said simply, nodding lightly. She did not understand this wolf one bit. With
a shrug of her shoulderblades, she turned away from the white one, her head
lazily turning back. "Do ye want me to leave? I be sorry for botherin' ye..."
she was being as sincere as she could without making this wolf uncomfortable,
but it seemed no matter how kind she was being, the wolf was still fidgety.

Pakuna now fully turned her frame away, paws reaching outward as she hopped
down a rock. It was so quiet up here. No wonder this wolf was hanging around
these parts. It was very peaceful; serene. Pale eyes looked back to the she-wolf,
to see what she was doing. A slight frown was slipping across her maw, and her
tail was lowered in a dissatisfied manner.
