He was starting to feel the exhaustion creeping up, making his eyelids heavy. Just this bit of talking was enough to wear him out, still, his body and mind both frail. As such, he could only nod his assent to Sita’s words, leaning into her warmth, feeling once more engulfed by her presence. Her hum made him smile, despite fighting sleep, the simple statement filling him with joy. It was true, they were all here together, it had worked out in the end.
Whether she sensed him drifting off, or was simply weary herself, her suggestion was welcome. Vasco allowed himself to nuzzle lightly at the base of her jaw for a moment, giving a purr of affirmation, before resting his head on his own outstretched paws, finally letting his eyes close. If nothing else, at least fate had allowed him to be by her side once more.
