What Sort of Witchcraft is this? - Kajika - Jan 15, 2022

Birthday RE: A shooting star flies overhead and you're left with the following prompt: It's the deepest hour of the night, and the forest is eerily still. Ahead of you, you can make out a perfect circle of deer, standing together with their heads bowed - what strange ritual have you stumbled upon?

All Welcome

There was a thick cloud cover over the lore but as Kajika set out that morning he felt it safe to travel. His large paws took him away from the cove and down the mountain. It had been a long time since he'd explored this part of the lore. His time spent mostly in the cove he hadn't considered exploration. Now was the time though his old bones often ached to day was a good day for him.

His descent from the mountain was slow but easy enough. He finally reached a place that looked familiar, he'd been there before. Though the last time had been when the snow didn't cover the ground. Weaving in and out of the trees he found it rather peaceful.

Taking advantage of the peacefulness the dark man decided on taking a rest. While he dozed under one of the trees night fell. When he was ready to move again it felt at though the darkness had been upon the forest for hours. The atmosphere of the forest had changed leaving him with am uneasy feeling. He went on until he came to a small clearing. He almost stepped out into it until he spotted the strangest thing.

In the middle there was a circle of deer. That part wasn't too strange considering he'd seen deer try to protect their young in this manner. The strange part came when he noticed their heads were bowed as if they were morning the loss of a comrade. He didn't know that deer would do that. Maybe that wasn't it, maybe it was something completely different.

The older man backed up until he was level with a tree which he slipped behind. Only sticking his head out to see what might happen next.
