The raven's flight - Jedd - Mar 31, 2012 As continued from "The cold crow's stare"[dohtml] An hour went by, and the wolf woke up. He lay next to the kill, which smelled extremely tempting at the moment. The wolf lazily rose to his paws, taking in a deep breath before releasing a long howl into the mid-afternoon air. Right now, he could go for a long, long nap... but he was overjoyed that he had completed the task. His legs felt weak, and he looked down at his front paws. A small amount of crimson blood was seeping slowly from his left paw. Grunting, Jedd lowered his head slowly, licking at the wound. The iron taste of his own blood stained his tongue, and he winced as a shot of pain resonated over his neck. The gray wolf waited patiently, remaining seated. He looked to the dead mountain goat next to him, smiling slightly. This was the first time he had ever killed a creature such as this. It was always creatures from the plains where he was raised. Killing on a small mountainside was even more of an accomplishment for him. The wolf was glad, for he could have easily destroyed himself in the process of the hunt. Complaining about his pain was nothing common for him, for he would remain silent about his wounds. He was a wolf who would not show weakness. [/dohtml] |
