That's a whole rainbow, man - Kaeruka - Mar 06, 2022

AW || March 6, early afternoon with sparse clouds || Random Event: A double rainbow stretches through the sky

[dohtml]

Kaeruka really couldn't place a paw on why she found herself traveling in what felt like circles. The tawny female would aimlessly bounce from the shelter of the cedar forest currently nestled to the north from where she found herself now to the lush meadow and sometimes daring to trek further east to where the softened soil gradually would harden into the rocky base of the looming mountain range. All the while her steps naturally avoiding the heavily marked borders encased by the drooping willows.

A pink-tinged nose dusted in loosened soil lifted itself from the unattended cache it had dug into to allow chartreuse eyes to take another security scan of her surroundings, uneasy to a degree being out in the open such as she was with a pack only a stone toss away. Surely the pampered individuals wouldn't take too kindly to someone raiding their cabinets. All seemed calmed, though, as a quick sneeze dislodged the debris from her snout before something interesting caught her eye in the sky.

Creamy brows furrowed together in piqued interest as the rolling clouds began to break away and expose sections of blue skies, rays of afternoon sunlight hitting just right to allow not only one set of pastel bows to form but two. A double rainbow all the way across the sky!

RE: That's a whole rainbow, man - Scully - Mar 12, 2022

Scully wasn't disappointed to come across her scent yet again, even if it was now lingering a little too close to home for someone who hadn't yet agreed to live amongst the willows. Had it been a stranger or one of his rogue relatives, he might've been a touch miffed. As it was, he approached the woman with a wry smile and a relaxed sway to his tail. The spectacle above went unnoticed, even as he felt the comforting heat of the sun upon his back as the cloud cover finally broke. His silver-dollar eyes only focused on her.

"Should I be taking a hint, that you didn't just come ask?" he queried with a level tongue, features completely absent of ire. It was a tease, for he couldn't foresee there being any spoilt blood between them. In his memory, they'd quite enjoyed their time together.

You've come across an unattended nest full of eggs, do you like them scarmbled or fired? +5 Health

It was the sound of approaching footsteps that drew the tawny woman's attention away from the aerial spectacle so swiftly, gaze settling on the silvered silhouette of a familiar face. At first, a look of guilt washed over Kaeruka's creamy features while charcoal ears momentarily pinned themselves back before standing erect again, chocolate dusted tail matching the relaxed sway of his own. There was no ire to his expression despite the gnawing sense he probably should have, just a level of teasing to his words the lone female had quickly come to correlate with the Archer.

A playful scoff escaped her as slender limbs closed the distance to some degree between them, batting her lashes in an equally playful manner. "Now you know that would be the easy route and I am far from easy." Kaeruka teased, the inky lining of her lips unable to hold back the gleeful grin in response to having familiar company again. The mottled woman had enjoyed their time together before and looked forward to the same in the future. In the back of her mind, it was something she mulled over often in regards to perhaps making it a more consistent thing.

It helped as well that a proper measure of shame passed over her features when she found herself caught. It spoke of either of an absence of ill-intent, or the presence of great acting skills, neither of which he would complain about. She met his words positively, and his tail picked up its pace as they met one another. Her words egged on his own crooked smile.

"I appreciate a challenge," he answered truthfully, his tongue as silk in her presence.

"Can I offer you something better?"

Her words brought forth a crooked smile to his handsome features that could easily woo the ladies before countering with a silky smooth answer. One thing Kaeruka had learned quickly of the man was how smooth he was, not that she was complaining. Given the approaching time of year and familiar sensations starting to churn deep within her core once more his swaggering words held a slightly heightened sense of potency. "I'll have to keep that in mind." She returned with a wink and a momentary smirk.

She briefly tilted her head in response to his posed question before lowering her haunches to make herself comfortable, tail thumping contently at her side. "What could be better than what's before me now?" It was a bold and flirtatious question, but one Ruka had a hunch Scully would find endearing; potentially ego-boosting, in his own way.

Scully was indeed charmed, his tail now at top speed while his grin grew wide enough to make crescent moons of his eyes.

"Don't you know how to make a wolf feel lucky?" he purred, taking the opportunity to settle in at her side. Reclining onto his own rump comfortably close, he leaned gently into her shoulder-to-shoulder while his tail kept beat against the wet snow, complimenting her own rhythm. The proximity was all he attempted, the gesture more friendly than flirtatious. As she'd vocalized, the woman wasn't a quick mark to be had and gotten over in one fell swoop.

His tone, on the other hand, made romantic intention clear.

"Hope ya don't mind if I soak this up, before y'vanish again," he teased.

"Been up to anything interestin'?"

The sight of his tail wagging a million miles an hour behind him paired with a near goofy grin that grew across his dark mask was more than enough to reward him with a chuckle, taking a moment to lean in and give the edge of his ear a playful tug before his frame nestled comfortably beside her own. It had been quite some time since Kaeruka had been graced with any form of physical contact with another outside Scully here and there was no denying the extra source of warmth against the cold was welcomed on both fronts. It was something the tawny woman silently craved to have again since venturing away from home.

Once more his voice tickled the inner lining of her ears with that teasing tone of his, inquiring what the lone woman had been up to since their last encounter while soaking up their exchanged body heat. A nonchalant shrug of a shoulder was her initial response while she contemplated how to make her rather mundane gypsy lifestyle sound a little more appealing. "Honestly not really. Been rather boring out there walking in circles."

Brilliant green orbs momentarily studied the distant boughs of drooping branches signifying the kingdom of her companion, wondering what it was like dwelling amongst those of the Ridge. "Yet something keeps drawing me back this way."

"How have things been at the Ridge?" She inquired, shifting her gaze from the distant trees to that of Scully.

His smile grew to show more and more pointed teeth, flattered rather than put-off at her easy dismissal of their time apart. It didn't bother him one bit that he was the most compelling thing to happen to her thus far, quite the opposite in fact.

"How awful," he responded with what was clearly feigned despair, as she spoke of being unable to escape a kind of magnetism.

How have things been at the Ridge? she asked in turn, and Scully gave a shrug of his shoulders.

"Fine enough, yet here I am drawn to you. I think there's only one solution, y'know."

Her eyes rolled in amusement at the clearly feigned despair that filled his voice in response to her answer, leaning over to give his shoulder a nudge. "Isn't it? Just down right awful." She sighed heavily in her own dramatic flair before allowing a small yet comfortable silence to settle between them. It didn't last long, though, as the question she posed, in turn, was answered with a silent shrug of shoulders at first.

It was the words he uttered, though, that had a direct effect upon the tawny woman. Instantly there was a surge of warmth to the skin beneath the fur of her cheeks that caused Kaeruka to glance away shyly for a split second before mentally shaking the moment of weakness away. "Pft, I bet you say that to all the girls." She teased while lifting a paw to drape it over the top of his head, letting out a playful rumble from her chest.

"Although..." She smoothly trailed off her words, letting the anticipation build like a crescendo.
