is that a BAT?!? - Aquene - Oct 01, 2022 [dohtml] Slowly things had started to get easier. Oksana telling her that she did not blame her for what had happened had helped to ease the pain in her chest any time she thought of her fallen friend, and the support of her packmates who refused to let her stew in her pain like she had with her mother’s passing. It was difficult. In many ways, it would always be difficult… but she was slowly starting to get to a place where she felt normal. She nudged her husband gently, humming softly about going on a walk as she rose, stretching out as she made her way out of the pack den where she had been sleeping as of late. Her old habits of sleeping in the herbal den had resulted in issues sleeping since Aleister’s passing causing her to relocate to be around those she cared for most. Still, thoughts lingered, which was why she waded her way towards the sunset, the shadows casting over the trees in the forest near the lake. She blinked, when she saw her shadow, strange webbed looking wings cast from a tree causing her to look up, a shocked fright for a moment before she saw the cobwebs, spider webs abandoned by their creator… Her heart raced as she yelped before she started to laugh a little… it all had her on edge, it seemed. Aquene Slayer RE: is that a BAT?!? - Nash - Oct 02, 2022 [dohtml] The mornings were growing colder and even though his duties were growing easier to bear, Nash knew the oncoming winter would bring increasing difficulty. He found himself more reluctant to rise each day, especially on mornings when he suspected he might see his breath once he stepped outside. Besides, sleeping was the only time his children didn't seem to be fighting and he could spend time with all of them in peace. He'd even come to bed a little early today. His plans were dashed when his wife nudged him and murmured something about taking a walk. For a long moment he considered staying put with his children, but with a quiet snort he rose and padded from their cozy den, glancing over his shoulder to make sure he hadn't disturbed the young ones. The leader heard a small yelp from ahead and, ears pricking, he picked up his pace until he caught up with his wife, who was now laughing. "Are you okay?" he asked, looking around for whatever danger had presented itself. RE: is that a BAT?!? - Magg - Oct 20, 2022 They might have thought her asleep, but Magg was wide awake. Eyes closed, pretending to snooze deeply, she wanted with great anticipation for someone else to stir so that she could properly begin her day. When he parents rose and exited the den, she excitedly flopped onto her stomach and stretched her long limbs before jumping to her own paws and chasing after them. Her mother's brief shout had startled her as well, and Magg closed the remaining distance at a jog to see what had happened. There was little fear, given how close to home they were. It seemed the trouble only ever happened when someone ventured out into the valley's foothills. Still, she mimicked her father as she padded up to his side and regarded Aquene inquisitively. "Ya okay?" RE: is that a BAT?!? - Aquene - Nov 14, 2022 [dohtml] When Nash and Magg would stumble upon her, her sides would begin to ache with laughter, seemingly unable to cease like a near unstable display of emotions from the mother who had simply been through so much as of late. At the question, she tried to reign it in, but it just made her laugh even harder… it would be Magg’s question that would start to bring it down from the chaos that it had been, motioning with her nose up towards the shadow she had seen, an illusion. “Everything is fine, I promise, my darling girl. I’m okay, Love.” She would assure both of them quickly, a light wheeze from the mix of the frigid air around them and her fit. “It’s the shadow… it scared me for a second… but it was just the trees.” With that, she let out a soft sigh. She liked to think that it was her mother or Aleister sending her some sign from the afterlife to not be so serious all the time. Aquene Slayer RE: is that a BAT?!? - Nash - Jan 05, 2023 [dohtml] It became apparent quite quickly that nothing of true concern was happening as Aquene began to laugh upon her husband's arrival. Nash glanced down at his daughter as she joined them, echoing him before her mother explained. The leader relaxed and glanced up to see the web she was gesturing to and let out a bark of laughter. "A bit jumpy are we?" he teased, bumping her with his shoulder as he chuckled. He looked up at the web again, almost thankful for it. It was good to see his love laugh again, to have a bit of levity within the pack bounds again. Granted, his own children didn't seem to be too affected by the pack's loss, even if their agemates were. The litters didn't get along as well as Nash had hoped, but they were their own wolves and he couldn't force them to be friends. He would take the laughter with his wife and daughter while he could. |
