the drifter - Jadon - Apr 10, 2023

Solitude was not a situation he was accustomed to, nor which he had desired. Nothing could be done about that, now, though. He was tempted to feel sorry for himself, to experience sadness or perhaps regret, but Jadon continued to put a metaphorical paw down on those emotions in hopes of quashing such feelings before they could take root. They would accomplish nothing and get him nowhere.

He traveled by night, and tonight was among the darkest of those he had witnessed recently. Clouds blotted out all of the light from above, and a light, misty rain mixed with snowfall, creating an eerie fog that seemed to simply hover in the forest.

Although, a part of Jadon suspected that was typical of a place like this. But he pressed forth, stalking through this new landscape with intrigue and discretion, his steps quiet, calculated. He would pause at times to listen or test scents - but so far, nothing.

This cursed seeming place was probably not the sort to draw in or appeal to wolves, he imagined. Or at least, not the kind that were of decent character. If anyone was around, they had managed to evade him thus far, for as he pressed forward, there was nothing.

No sounds, not even faint trails of others that’d traversed this area before. Jadon was not exactly desperate for company, but he wasn’t actively trying to avoid it either. Still, though, he would try to remember this place. Perhaps it could be of use to him in the future - but for now, he would continue moving forth.
