how to rise from the floor - Marigold - Apr 27, 2023 when it's not you i'm rising for?
Backdated to April 16th, a week after Auburn's death. All welcome, with heads up to leadership @Flair @Jethro (sorry it took me so long to get this up).
It had taken days to come to terms with the finality of what had happened, to figure out how to cope long enough to get herself back... home? What even was that word without her brother? Her body was numb and stiff during the journey, slowing as the trees grew in height and she began to better recognize the surroundings. Marigold did not want to finish this trip without Auburn in step with her, she didn't want to know Paradise Falls without him, didn't want to have to bring this new, awful reality to anyone else's awareness. She sure as fuck did not want to see Chan. But she couldn't drag it out forever. In time, she could smell groundwater. Eventually, she began to pick up the pack's musk. Finally, she was back, inside Fall's territory. Still she couldn't bring herself to howl or otherwise call out, couldn't pick up her speed, couldn't react in any way other than mounting apprehension but forcing herself forward one step at a time. RE: how to rise from the floor - Flair - May 01, 2023 Tried to keep this as vague as possible, but let me know if it's still presuming too much <3

RE: how to rise from the floor - Marigold - Jun 16, 2023 Marigold didn't hear or smell the leader, leaving her unaware of Flair's presence until she spoke. Even then, the words sounded as though they were passing through some kind of filter, and she found herself stopping and lifting her head only to blink back at the older wolf with bleary eyes. They felt utterly unreal, all of these moments. "I..." What had she been asked? Did it even matter? Did this mean her father was nearby? Should he be the first to... ? "I..." The tears returned, welling then falling in streams that swiftly became rivers. "Aub-," a sob, legs shaking, voice cracking, "Auburn..." It wouldn't come out.
