New Subterritory: Sheer Sheep Slopes Lat/Long: -38.20366, 104.94141 Pic: https://i.imgur.com/LFVqRG6.png Description: A little south of Lost Lake, on the eastern slopes of Serpents Pass, above the treelined, just enough dirt has managed to cling to the rock to support a lush meadow. Despite the steep slant, both thick grasses and a few stubborn wildflowers have taken root, carpeting the mountainside in green throughout the summer. This unusually abundant vegetation makes the spot popular with herds of Goats and Dall Sheep, as well as smaller grazers of the heights like Marmots and Snowshoe Hare – and in late spring, it is a prime hunting site for new lambs. But hunters best beware, as one wrong paw step might send them tumbling down the mountain, with nothing but sheer rock to break the fall. [dohtml]
RE: The Silence - Magg - Jun 17, 2023 Magg was patrolling. Yeah. She did that too! Proudly, with her head high and her brown eyes ever watchful as though evil could never escape her eagle vision. Maybe others wanted to run away from their problems (and like, she wouldn't say no if her family did want to move), but as long as her mom and dad wanted to stay, Magg was standing her ground and defending her home as best as she could. That meant following in the paw steps of wolves like her father, and who also had Nash's old job? Gale's big brother, Leo. When she caught his scent, she didn't hesitate to follow him through the valley and up into steeper terrain. She spotted him before noticing the prey he was stalking, and moved to sprint the remaining distance between them with half a mind to try and startle the older adolescent. Thankfully however, the growing girl wasn't completely oblivious in her enthusiasm and slowed her steps again nearly just as swiftly upon noticing the fuzzy shapes past the yearling ahead. Oop. "Hey, Leo!" she opted to whisper-shout instead, tiptoeing as quickly as she could to get to his side. Was he hunting? Did he want her help?! |
