The road you walk - Archer - Jul 18, 2023 Backdated to 7/15. Archer and @Ally are passing through. AW. Set early afternoon.
[dohtml] Archer Archer was sincerely regretting putting off leaving as long as he had... Sure, it had given him the brief opportunity to run into Eros and that had gone... well, he supposed, but now there was so much smoke in the air. The new father was sticking close to Ally, although he was trying to give her the space to explore. With rules. They needed to make progress, but if she really wanted to go off they were to meet where they'd spent the previous night before dark. He didn't want her spending the night by herself, especially since they were now in the Pass and headed up the mountainside. He hoped the smoke might clear as they moved up; he'd been above the clouds in the Pass before, but that hadn't lasted long - only until the sun dispersed them. He wasn't quite sure how that worked. Regardless, he hoped the air might be a little better as they moved up, so Ally could breathe easier. The smoke was hurting his lungs; he couldn't imagine what it must be doing to hers, and he couldn't bear it if something were to happen to her. So on they walked, and if she might be inclined to wander off Archer followed at a distance, content to let her take the lead so long as they were headed in mostly the right direction. Today, however, they needed to start their climb - and that meant finding something to eat so they had enough energy. Finding something to eat meant hunting, which Archer hadn't done here before, so he was just hoping to find a rabbit to bring back to his pup. He'd found something better, though; a nice big cave. It looked to have been used before, but there was no scent to indicate he should be wary of other predators. It was nice and sheltered, and the smoke hadn't yet filled it completely. He tipped his head back and called to Ally; he'd found the perfect place for them to spend the night. |
