Many meetings - Diantha - Jul 23, 2023

Backdated to early morning 7/15, Di is bringing @Tulip home! AW for the pack but special shoutout to @Moonshadow

[dohtml]

The journey back was harder than the journey out; Di hadn't expected to be half-carrying an old lady back home with her. She was worried about the woman, but also incredibly curious. How did she know Moon? Or anyone else? She clearly knew the cove. But that could wait; Nulla needed to see @Aquene immediately.

She was so focused on this goal that Di didn't pause to call her leaders at the border. She was a member of the Cove; she could bring someone in if she wanted, especially someone who was so sick. "Almost there," she said to encourage the old lady. "We're in the territory now; the den's not far ahead, and then Aquene can help you." Almost there... and then Di would take a break too. She couldn't wait to get a nice cold drink and tuck herself in the pack den and get out of the smoke for a while.

RE: Many meetings - Tulip - Jul 23, 2023

[dohtml]

The trip had been difficult, the old wolf simply stopping and laying down without a word several times. Then she had been stubborn about getting back up again. Half the time all it took was a mention of Moon to get back up and going, others she needed a quick snooze. Her body was hurting. She'd been coughing consistently the entire trip, the smoke having a heavy effect on her old lungs. Her paw pads were sore and even worse her bones ached.

"Almost there" Tulip looked up with her blurry vision and smelled the air. She parted from the yearling's body to stand on her own four paws. Her eyes narrowed. "This isn't the Cove." She spoke bluntly, glancing around at the scenery, "W-whose that?" She asked shrinking down a bit. Another cough parted her jaws with a vengeance. She took a moment before following the girl hesitantly. Shakily even. Her tail was firmly pressed into her belly. "Where's 'Oon?" she asked quietly before repeating adamantly- as if Di had simply made an error into the wrong pack lands, "This isn't the cove."

RE: Many meetings - Nash - Jul 23, 2023

[dohtml]

Nash was on his way back to the pack den to check on Eclypse and his mother when he heard Di's voice - and then someone else. His ears pricked and he quickly headed their way. They were well within the borders now. Had someone invaded? Was that where Di had been the last day? She'd disappeared without a word.

The leader arrived in time to hear the older woman saying something about not being the Cove. "This is Sanguine Cove," he said, stepping up before then and looking down upon the woman with narrowed eyes. He glanced at Di. "Did you bring her?" he asked the yearling, not wanting to make assumptions without giving her the chance to explain herself.

RE: Many meetings - Diantha - Jul 23, 2023

[dohtml]

They were almost there, so close, and then Nulla had to step away from her and crouch down. Di almost thought she was taking another break, even though they were so close, but her tail tucked and she seemed... scared? Di stopped and dropped down beside her. "Aquene is our healer, and one of our leaders. She can help you feel better." And then her insistence this wasn't the Cove had Di's ears flicking back in confusion. "It is," said gently. "This is Sanguine Cove. Moon is probably at the pack den taking care of Eclypse." It's where she'd found Moon before, after all.

Before she could say anything more a large shape melted from the smoke and Nash was speaking. Di started, then guiltily looked at her paws. Maybe she should have asked before bringing Nulla in. "This is Nulla," she said. "She's sick; she needs help." She looked pleadingly up at him, hoping he wouldn't turn Nulla away just because the yearling made a mistake.

RE: Many meetings - Moonshadow - Jul 23, 2023

[dohtml]

Sometimes darkness can show you the light

Sleep was eluding the elderly Eastfall matriarch this early morning. Had gotten a decent chunk the night before she had woken with the dawn's early rays. Surely she would take a late morning nap later on so she was fine with being up this early. It would allow her to watch her youngest granddaughter sleep peacefully and to make sure he breathing was alright. The smoke had taken a hard toll on the both of them. Sadly this was something else they shared besides looking identical. Both have dealt with and suffered through smoke at a very young age. Moon had gotten lucky with no lasting effects. She only hoped it would be the same for her little Eclypse.

Voices outside caught the grandmother's attention. Who had been up this early in the morning? This wouldnt be the reasoning for her to exit the den in a quiet but hasty manner. Oon. There was only one wolf who had called her that.

Following the sound of Diantha's voice Moonshadow made her way to the small collection of family members. Di was explaining to Nash that this woman who she called Nulla was sick and needed help. Despite the cloudiness of her eyesight and the haziness of the smoke Moon knew who this woman was. She had more white in her coat than the Eastfall remembered but it was mistakenly her.

"Tulip!" she called out almost breathlessly with a bit of a wheeze. She never thought she'd see the girl woman again. Before anyone could say anything else the salt and pepper woman moved to Tulip's side pulling her fragile frame into her own. She couldnt believe she came home.

RE: Many meetings - Tulip - Jul 28, 2023

[dohtml]

Tulip listened to the child, an ear pointed towards her while the other listened to their surroundings. Her hazy eyes continuously looked about with uncertainty. She was being taken to a healer, who was also the leader, she nodded softly. It'd been some time and perhaps someone younger had taken the ropes. The elder's brows furrowed deeply, "San...San-gi...San-gu-ine?" She struggled to pronounce the word. This wasn't her cove...but Moon was here? She didn't understand.

A man's voice split the air, causing her head to swivel and hackles to stand on end. The woman shrunk to the ground with a whimper,  looking towards the leader's paws. She remained quiet and unsure of what to do. Diantha began to speak, further confusing the woman. Nulla? Why was she being called Nulla? Tulip could not recall at the moment ever giving her old name out. She kept her mouth shut out of fear of reprimand for herself and the child.

"Tulip!"

The woman sprang up at her name with a loud raspy gasp, her tail wagging with intensity. She knew that voice! She knew that face! She erupted into a wail as Moon embraced her, burying her head into the other woman's pelt. Joyful tears poured freely from her and loud excited whines could not be held back. She'd waited for this moment most of her life. She was finally, at long last, home.

RE: Many meetings - Aquene - Jul 30, 2023

[dohtml]

Aquene had moved in a measured response to catch up with Moonshadow, whom she’d implore to remain in the den. It was impossible to not fret about the woman who had already seen so much in her life… it would lead her to the borders, her eyes widening as she saw quite a few in front of her. “What is going on here?” She’d ask, drawn immediately to Tulip as a healer as she began to look the older woman over.

“We should get them all to the pack den. I have a fresh supply of herbs there that can help.” She would say to Nash… it was clear the woman could not do much even if she were to pose a danger to any of them… and it did not seem as though Moonshadow or Diantha thought she would cause harm. That would be enough for now, and once they had addressed health concerns they could assess what the woman was doing here.

“Diantha, will you run ahead and let Eclypse know she needs to be gentle with our new guest?” She asked of the younger girl, wanting to ensure her daughter did not try to pounce upon the woman when they arrived, and warn her to keep her distance until Aquene gave the all clear.

RE: Many meetings - Nash - Aug 10, 2023

[dohtml]

Nash was surprised to see his mother, to say the least. She was meant to be on bedrest, but before he could scold her for coming out she was exclaiming a name and rushing forward to embrace the frail woman their yearling had brought to them. He blinked in confusion. The old woman, who Diantha called Nulla but his mother called Tulip clearly knew Moon as well and fell into her. "I take it she's from the old Cove," he said wryly. It would certainly explain her confusion.

Aquene wasn't far behind him and immediately fell into healer mode. Nash beamed at her; he was so in love with his darling wife. Taking on both leadership and healing... she was astounding. Sometimes he was absolutely baffled as to why she'd chosen him of everyone. He was so very glad she did. He nodded at her and moved to support their guest. "Mom, can you take her other side?" he asked before gently telling Tulip, "Lean on me as much as you can, and my mom will help balance you." He didn't want Moon to take on more than she had to.

RE: Many meetings - Diantha - Aug 10, 2023

[dohtml]

There was soon a whole gaggle of the pack around them. Nash was stern, rightfully so, but Diantha didn't care. There was someone in need. She was surprised to see Moonshadow arrive, but apparently that was okay because she appeared to know Nulla and the old woman launched herself at the pack's grandmother with uncontrolled whines. Di blinked at them. "Tulip?" she asked. Why had she told her Nulla if that wasn't her name?

She didn't have much time to dwell on this, however, as Aquene was giving her an order. Di nodded and glanced back at Nulla-Tulip. Nash was already coming up to her side and offering his support, so the yearling took off towards the den to find @Eclypse and deliver the request. She would wait there for the group; she needed to make sure her new friend was going to be okay.

RE: Many meetings - Tulip - Sep 08, 2023

Posting exit in hopes of wrapping this up, Apologies for any inconvenience!

[dohtml]

Too enthralled with Moon's presence, Tulip failed to take note of Aquene at first. She heard the presence of another but simply didn't process the words or the reality of it all. She was living a daydream that'd run through her mind a million times over. "Oon" She sobbed happily. There was so much to tell. So much to hear. To make up for lost time...if time would even allow her failing mind such grace. If possible she pressed more firmly into the warm embrace of her prior alpha who had been like a mother figure to her.

She was drawn to Aquene's voice the second time she spoke, hazy eyes looking her over. Could she be a daughter of Moons? They shared ebony fur. She wondered how many children the matriarch might of had by now. A weak smile brightened her sickly face at the thought of her friend's life flourishing. She hoped, that unlike her own, it'd been fruitful and her family strong and healthy. She missed her children. How differently everything could have been if Solas and her had been here sooner. The thought caused confusion for the old wolf. She pulled back from Moon and wearily glanced about, "Olas?...I seem to have lost Olas..." As if she'd forgotten all about Moon she started to step away in search of her mate.

Before she could take another step in the wrong direction a gentle touch brushed against her pelt. "Huh?" She asked in confusion, but complied. They were going somewhere...she didn't mind going somewhere with Nash's help. Maybe it'd be comfortable there for her to rest...Maybe Solas and Thorn were waiting. Where was she again? She leaned against the man while her thin legs shook. Her eyes lit up once more and brimmed with tears at the sight of Moonshadow. Thats right...she was home.

EXIT- Tulip will comply & walk with them and likely talk nonsense.
